Autumn is a concert pianist and is due to play her first solo following an accident she had a few years ago. She is surprised when she comes home one day to find that her landlord has rented out the ground floor of her home to Elijah. Initially, these two do not get along but over time they begin to grow closer together.
I really enjoyed this one. This has a lot of tropes that I really enjoy; enemies to lovers, forced proximity and grumpy/sunshine. I loved the romance between these two. There is also a mystery side plot that I really enjoyed. Overall I thought that this was a good read and I would recommend checking this out.

👌🏻what i liked:
This was an easy and quick read. I found Autumn and Elijah’s backstories interesting, and I really enjoyed the grumpy sunshine aspect.
🙃 what i didn’t like:
The switch from strangers to lovers felt rushed and forced. I honestly thought I missed a chapter because it happened so quick. The mystery storyline created unnecessary drama. The book was already jam packed with storylines and could have happened without the mystery storyline.
🥰 special thanks
Thank you to NetGalley, Kate Callaghan, and CallaghanWriter, Independent Book Publishers Association, & Members’ Titles for granting me this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I enjoyed this book, it was a quick read! Although, this book was a bit too fast paced than what I was expecting to see, the beginning was really cute but then all of a sudden I felt like, I was left hanging without some information and just skipped to them being lovers when they were just strangers. The way the couple fell in love in an instant was a little overwhelming, which it would’ve been better to see the characters develop love for each other as time progresses. I did love this book, i loved how we got to see each of their individual views, I do believe the book was well written although I did feel like some parts were missing but I still felt connected to the book and characters which was good, and I recommend it to anyone and everyone who wants a good book, needs to get out of a reading slump, just go read it and find out, you will have no regrets.

I had to DNF half way through this book. Absolutely nothing was happening. I didn’t care for the characters and I could immediately tell that the romance was going to be forced. Also the writing isn’t necessarily bad but I’ve read better

Autumn rents a cute townhouse from her father’s friend. One day, she wakes up and finds a man moving in - turns out her landlord rented out the first floor to Elijah. She is not a fan, but they are both too stubborn to give in, so they are forced to cohabitate. Add in some odd gifts showing up on their porch, and what could possibly go wrong?
Oh wow this was painful. The dialogue was so cringey I had to stop reading at times. The banter was so forced. When Elijah and Autumn first meet, they read more like siblings to me than future lovers. I found Autumn to be almost too cold/grumpy and Elijah to be too much of a puppy dog. The only interesting part of the book was the mystery, and even that was boring as I guessed the twist from a mile away.
The book is fast paced but there were too many things going on that it almost started to feel like it wasn’t a romance. I didn’t think we got nearly enough time of Autumn and Elijah getting to know each other, and I thought they got together WAY too quickly. I wasn’t invested in their story, and I didn’t feel their chemistry at all.
Overall, did not enjoy and would not recommend
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC of this book!

4.5 stars
I loved this book!! It was everything I love in a romance, plus a bit of mystery and suspense. It was a fun (and often relatable) read that I didn't want to put down.
There were a few loose ties with the mystery subplot that I wish were addressed to round out the narrative, and I did anticipate what would happen pretty early in the mystery, but I enjoyed it regardless.
Thank you so much to Kate Callaghan and NetGalley for the ARC!

What a fresh take on rom-com. I love a grumpy sunshine trope and felt that this wasnt predictable, but also gave me exactly what I was looking for in a book with a cover like this!

First chapter in and I was hooked. Great emotion and already lots of chemistry from the get go between both protagonists.
The only thing is it was a tad predictable, the broken lock, car keys elsewhere, sudden person popping up and having eavesdropping on conversations and there were lots of hints from the get go, more than breadcrumbs taling us where the storyline was going. Maybe even too many hints. But that's the only real problem, other than that, the chemistry, the strive to get to where they want to be is fully believable and felt.
Touches on the realities that come with chronic pain so well that as a person living with chronic pain, I actually felt represented and seen. It was not fluffy, ill be fine but all woe is me, no, it is a daily minute by minute struggle but we are so damned strong but it's often overlooked by those who just do not understand. I have never felt as seen as this book made me feel and its story just further enhanced my reading experience. The chemistry practically flew off the pages, it was believable and a well fleshed out story. Granted it got a little predictable in places, there was a good twist at the end with the 'who is the baddy?' element.
Full of emotion and heart, it's a definite keeper and future author follower for life, book.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were great and fun. I loved how they were forced to live with each other and the forced proximity did some great things for their relationships. The pace of them falling for each other was great and I just loved seeing them grow together. I do wish the mystery of the roses was more prevalent throughout the novel instead of only being important in the last 15% of the novel. It felt very rushed and made it unbelievable.

Hi just wanted to flag a continuity lapse on Chapter 21 pg 156/266 - what t-shirt? she was described as wearing a wrap dress.

2.5⭐️ Silly forced proximity premise, if you can suspend disbelief and roll with it, a fun enough time. Simple. A bit cringey at times, overall not too spicy. Nice to see chronic pain representation. Third person narrative is not my favourite.
Thanks to Netgalley for eARC.

This was a cute enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine with a splash of romantic suspense.
Autumn is a successful pianist dealing with trauma and chronic pain and is set in her routine-like ways. Enter Elijah Wells stage left and you get a handsome and charming entrepreneur with a heart of gold and a cute puppy sidekick.
When Autumn and Elijah are forced to share a house together things start to heat up. I loved the banter and the pranks these two played on each other, and watching their interactions with each other grow into concern and friendship and eventually more was done beautifully well.
I loved the mixing of genres with a cute romance aspect to a suspense thriller with the reveal at the end. The story blended together and really gave this book more depth.
The spice is tasteful, but I loved the more intimate moments so much more. The best thing about this book was the mental health representation with anxiety and the circumstances surrounding Autumn’s chronic pain and her mental health after a traumatic accident.
If you haven’t added this to your TBR, you should. And I will definitely be adding Kate Callaghan to my list of authors to follow and read through her backlist.

This book was everything. It was such a feel-good cutesy romance, and I loved every second of it.
Forced proximity, grumpy sunshine(but she was the grump and he was the sunshine), he falls first, dual POV, Spice, suspense(I know what!), chronic pain rep, and THE CUTEST dog(Brinkley was my favourite character😅), what more could you ask for!
The whole book was so easygoing, I absolutely loved the writing style, and the banter and chemistry between the two MCs Autumn and Elijah was chef's kiss!
I think what made me give this a 5-star rating was that I really enjoyed the very slight suspense/mystery aspect. It was written so well and kept me guessing until the end. It made me feel like I wasn't just reading another typical rom-com book!
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this. It was a great pick-me-up, and I would definitely recommend it! Best part - it's already released, so go give it a read!
Thank you to @netgalley and @callaghanwriter for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the banter between Elijah and Autumn. Parts of the plot felt rushed and I would have enjoyed a bit more showing over telling. Overall, I did enjoy the book.

A great read, the story of Autumn and Elijah. They don't get off to the best of starts, but will this change as they start to get to know each other? Looking forward to more books from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for this ARC!
I want to start by saying I think this story had a lot of potential--the bones were good. I like contemporary romances with deeper topics and themes. However, this one missed the mark for me. I think the writing threw me off; I couldn't get behind it or the dialogue. It made everything feel more corny than it actually is.
I wouldn't tell others not to read this--I may just be picky!

This book had a lot going on, which made it hard to keep up with at times. I felt like the plot was too mismatched and needed to stick to one area, it was interesting but just too much going on and it took away from the story.
I loved Elijah, he has typical golden retriever energy. I loved that he was the sunshine in this GrumpyxSunshine trope. I also loved the fact that he fell first, it was refreshing to read. The banter between the 2 main characters was great and I liked the forced proximity side of the romance.
All up, the book was enjoyable and easy to read. Was it amazing, no. Did I enjoy it, yes.
Many thanks to NetGalley ARC.

Ms. Perfectly Fine is about pianist Autumn who is making her professional comeback after a tragic accident a decade earlier. Her rigid routine is thrown for a loop when her landlord does some secret meddling and rents out the bottom of the house Autumn lives in to Elijah. Autumn must re-evaluate her relationships and outlook on life as she navigates her upcoming showcase and a potential stalker.
Overall I enjoyed the story as a whole and the concept was definitely intriguing and engaging.

Ms. Perfectly Fine is my first Kate Callaghan read that combines the grumpy/sunshine romance with the forced proximity scenario. The story follows a concert pianist named Autumn Adler who is working hard for her comeback after an accident ten years earlier. Suddenly, she seems to have a roommate in game designer Elijah Wells after her landlord rents out another part of her home. Neither wants to live with the other, which means there is a lot of back and forth as they try to figure out ways to get rid of the other. In this scenario, the two begin to have feelings towards each other with Elijah falling first. Depending on the type of romance reader you are, this will most likely affect your enjoyment of the speed of their romance developing. For me, it was a little too fast and I would have preferred more build-up. Other readers may feel differently and that it was good pacing.
This story did test my preference for realism mixed into fictional story. Autumn has been living alone for years and to have a stranger show up one day is jarring and I can fully stand by her. Elijah shows up and treats the house as his, even eating Autumn’s food and interrupting her space. There is a lot that Elijah does that made him seem like a nightmare roommate, so to even try to enjoy this story and root for them as a couple, I had to remove all these realisms where I could not see someone accepting him. Even for Autumn, there are moments where realism takes a backseat as things happen to her, such as mysterious gifts yet no mentions of taking realistic steps to find answers. Hers are more difficult to discuss due to spoilers, but all of these did add up where I wanted more exploration into why all these elements for both Autumn and Elijah were written this way instead of just having it so they could go from point A to point B in the story because it was needed for the ending.
The story is an interesting take as I enjoy the forced proximity trope. As Elijah is an unwelcome addition to Autumn’s home, I wish there was more exploration into why he was set on staying. Since they fall quickly, expansion was something that I wanted in this story. I loved the representation of Autumn and everything she was going through internally and externally, so I wish that same care went into developing the relationship and other details in the story. There are mentions of the characters following vegan diets, yet honey and eggs are included, which aren’t vegan. Additionally, Autumn wants to talk about her relationship with her friend Nina, but never asks about Nina’s relationship, so some expansion into this dynamic would help me like Autumn. As-is, she came across selfish in this scenario. The story itself has many moments of telling without showing, so it was difficult to connect with the emotions of the story. Overall, this was a fun concept that may have some flaws, but it did make me curious to try more Callaghan reads in the future.
**I give a special thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, Callaghanwriter, for the opportunity to read this entertaining novel. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.**

I had a good time reading this book and thought the story was interesting. Autumn and Elijah were well-written characters and were super cute together. They supported each other and communicated well - after the initial house sharing drama! The sharing of their deeper emotions and life aspirations helped bond them early on in their relationship.
Although it was a big part of the plot (especially towards the end), I could have done without the stalker drama and "suspense" aspects. It was pretty boring and easy to guess what was going on. The focus could have been solely on Autumn's music, Elijah's business, and their growing relationship & the story would have flourished even more with being able to expand more on those topics.

First off this cover is absolutely gorgeous and I wanted to read this because of the book cover alone!
I rated this book a 3.5 because it is between a 3 and a 4-star rating. I liked almost every aspect of the story, but the romance was quick, especially with all the aggression. It felt like it was more of a hook-up than a relationship and I would have liked more of a build-up for the relationship to develop and feel romantic. And I cannot get over the fact he ate her food without permission and did not even warn her after the fact, what if she was poor and had to portion her food, or what if she had medication in her food? The what-ifs with the food stealing kept replaying in my head.
