This book follows Autumn-- who is a concert pianist making her comeback after a tragic accident, and Elijah who is a game designer who-- unbeknownst to her-- started renting out the first floor of ther house. Forced by the landlord to make it work until Elijah's lease is up in a few weeks, Autumn and Elijah poke, prod and prank each other. And what starts as a rivalry, slowly turns into an understanding and then a friendship.
Review:
I really enjoyed this book, and had a hard time putting it down once I started it. The story was super cute and interesting. Grumpy x sunshine is one of my favorite tropes, so I really loved the suspense factor that was added in. The tension is perfection between Autumn and Elijah, and it's not often that the MMC is the sunshine character so it was great change of pace.

This book was the perfect balance of sexy romance and stomach turning thriller that complimented each other so nicely! Our main characters are so easy to fall in love with, setting the tone of trust and companionship.
As someone living with chronic pain myself, I really resonated with how this book tackled that topic in such a graceful way. It didn't feel like it was the main focus but it still felt like it was very important piece of this book!
The thriller aspect of this book was so unexpected and it was truly a breath of fresh air. Romance is all good and fun but this really added something to it that kept me on my toes. I quite literally downed this book in a day because I couldn't put it down!
Would definitely recommend this to my thriller readers looking to get into romance for the first time!

Thank you NetGalley and IBPA for this ARC for an honest review. This book follows Autumn, a piano prodigy who was left with chronic pain after a tragedy when she was young. After she returns to playing piano she is forced to share a home with a game designer Elijah. The story shows how she manages her chronic pain and healing, but also her evolving relationship with Elijah. There is a subplot mystery that could’ve been further developed, but overall a sweet story full of diverse characters.

Miss Perfectly Fine is definitely, absolutely not fine. Cute story and premise, and deals with real life problems in real life ways, but it wasn’t for me. I had a difficult time feeling depth from the characters and the plot just sort of lacked for me. Quick, rushed love scenes are also a struggle for me, and that’s what happened with these two forced roomies. I also prefer stories that don’t have a side story (the mysterious person, in this case) that just don’t really add much to the story. It just feels… weird. Overall, not the worst book I’ve ever read, but not the best either. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

This book was okay, not great but not terrible. It didn't really hook me from the beginning. I felt like the love story was rushed and things were just developing waayy too fast. It did offer a little bit of a mystery plot to go along with the romance aspect. Character development was lackluster and felt that it was hard to connect to them. The smutty/steamy scenes at times felt very cringey and just were not attractive. Does have some subjects that may be uncomfortable for some so check any trigger warnings.

✨Big thank you to Kate Callaghan and Netgalley for giving me a chance to read and review this ARC prior to its release one chance for an honest review!✨
The combination of a romance and a mystery/thriller novel was a genre I didn’t know existed until I began this book. As two of my favourite genres it spelt the perfect read for me, and I did find it extremely enjoyable until about 70% through and the remainder of the book became painful. Elijah was the softest MMC and he was written so endearing yet charming and I did enjoy the blossoming romance between him and Autumn, however, the events in the book take place over such a short length of time, and you do forget about it until it’s pointed out to you and then the timeline ends up feeling a bit confusing. The mystery aspect of the book I had solved in the first few chapters and felt that it was very obvious which did take some of the enjoyment out for me as I like a mystery to keep me gripped and guessing, but that is purely a personal preference. Overall I did enjoy this book and I would recommend it to others looking for an easy read!

This book was a lovely read, but there were a few things I didn't enjoy so much.
I found the romance rather rushed, it took almost no time to go from enemies to lovers.
Also, I couldn't relate to any of the characters, they all felt a little flat for me.
But I did like the stalker part. It was a fun addition to the story.

This was a decent read. The story revolves around Autumn, a pianist about to make her comeback after an accident during a performance threatened her life a decade ago. The weeks leading up to her comeback are however disturbed by both roses being repeatedly dropped on her doorstep by an unseen admirer (or enemy?), and an unexpected roommate in the form of her landlord's son, Elijah.
Autumn is a unique character, and I liked reading about her past, her passion for music, and her daily struggles with pain since her accident. I have read a ton of romance novels, but never one with a heroine who has chronic pain. I was less taken by Elijah: I feel like I needed to get to know him better. I was also very intrigued by the mysterious roses aspect in this story, and enjoyed the related twist, though I am left with questions. Nice to have a bit of mystery in the typical romance novel!
Autumn and Elijah had many cute moments, but I felt like their chemistry felt a bit too sudden to be enjoyed; I was hoping for a bit more build-up, especially to understand their enemies-to-lovers arc which barely had a "friends" stage. The unwilling flatmates begin by often pranking each other, by doing things like locking the other one out of the house (Elijah), or playing the piano at an ungodly hour (Autumn). I found this dynamic to be quite immature, and only began enjoying their relationship more once they got past this stage. Even then, it was hard for me to appreciate Elijah when he was constantly stealing food from Autumn without asking (huge pet peeve).
I enjoyed the unique protagonist and unexpected mystery element in this novel, and look forward to Callaghan's next work!
Favourite quote: ''She could hear nothing but the music; she didn’t miss a note or
try to speed through it. She savoured every moment, and when it was over, she felt her tears slide down her cheeks"
Favourite moment: The flirting (and more ;) ) between Autumn and Elijah during an auction occurring in the second half of the book.

I really enjoyed this book. the cover was a little misleading but it was a cute read nonetheless. The chronic pain representation was wonderful and as someone whose best friend has chronic pain, I am happy to see it well represented and in a strong way rather than being treated as a doll to pick up and use or throw away. Chronic pain representation was on the same level as Get aA Life, Chloe Brown. Wonderful representation.

Am I sucker for rom coms? Absolutely!! And this book hits all the marks. Grumpy/sunshine, golden retriever MMC, and forced proximity. Picture that fav book with one bed but change it to one shared house.
Overall, I really enjoyed this. But Autumn was…annoying. I found most of the banter between the two hilarious, however, sometimes I found Autumn to be too much and Elijah was way too good for her. Sorry I’m not sorry! Ha
Also, a little dash of mystery was a good palate cleanser!
I received this as an ARC and all opinions are my own.

Life has been anything but perfectly fine for Autumn Adler, child piano prodigy, following her tragic accident that left both physical and emotional scars. Ms Perfectly Fine brings together music, romance, friendship, forced proximity, and mystery into a fast-paced, page turning read. While some aspects progressed faster than expected, it didn't take away from the story. Callaghan combines complex relationships, witty banter, and well timed reveals to produce a cute, exciting, quick read.

***3.5 STARS***
I enjoyed this book as a fast, entertaining read. I really liked that there was a playlist at the beginning, and I really loved the addition of the little mystery as the primary conflict, instead of including problems/problem between Elijah and Autumn. I really appreciated that. I also really liked the premise!
However, I can't rate this book as highly as I would otherwise, because the dialogue felt awkward, uncomfortable, and unnatural more often than I would have liked, and there was a lot more telling than showing, so descriptions sometimes felt forced. I suspected the right character as villain pretty early on as well, but maybe that's a me problem (so I will not lower my rating for this), because I can definitely see how that would be an unexpected twist to many readers.
Overall, I enjoyed it, and I would recommend it as a cute little story!

Thank you Netgalley, Kate Callaghan, and for the ARC in exchange for an honest review
Autumn wakes up one day to find someone moving into her house. Elijah tells Autumn that her landlord rented out half of the house to him and that they'll be sharing it for the next 6 months. Autumn is very against this idea and makes that abundantly clear to him. This only pushes Elijah to try harder to win her affection.
• grumpy x sunshine
• forced proximity
• he falls first
• Dual POV
Autumn suffers from chronic pain after being in an accident. She's also a pianist and is practicing for her spring show. Personality wise she's very argumentative. It started to bother me around the 35% mark. There's one scene where Elijah brings home is dog and Autumn keeps saying "well what if I was allergic to dogs?" Even though she isn't. She likes to argue just to argue.
Elijah is the product of his father's affair and gets treated as a secret. His father is Autumns landlord and Elijah is staying in the house while he closes a deal on his new video game. Elijah wasn't my favorite. He tells her he doesn't care when she plays the piano, then tells her to stop when she's playing at 6am, then he eats her food and starts painting the house. For someone who's trying to score some points, he's doing a bad job of it.
The book is very dialogue heavy which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it also leaves out so much of the surrounding story. The author also explains everything instead of showing you what's happening. It felt like I was being told a story instead of feeling like I was on a journey with the characters. The characters felt one dimensional and they had no chemistry with each other. Overall the book wasn't bad it just left a lot to be desired.

There are not enough words to describe how much I loved this book! I was hooked from the very first page. I truly adore the chronic pain representation in this story. So many of my favorite tropes were in this! Reverse grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and so much more! This is easily one of my favorite reads of 2023 so far!

If you like romance with a dash of suspense, then you should try Ms Perfectly Fine by Kate Callaghan. It’s a nice story, with likable characters, with flaws and fears, which made them more human and real. Enjoy the story of Autumn and Elijah. She’s grumpy and he’s stubborn…
Thank you for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my review.

I really enjoyed this book. I apparently didn't read the description very well because I did not realize there was a mystery element to it. I liked the characters and their lives. My only complaint is that the romance and mystery didn't feel very balance. It felt like the first half was all romance and the second half focused more on the mystery. Overall I enjoyed the read and would recommend the book to friends.

Rounding up to a 2. While I thought the idea of the story was sweet, it just wasn’t executed in a way that flowed or worked for me.
The dialogue was stiff and unnatural to me, the interactions were forced and at times dragged on. I wasn’t connecting with either of the characters and the events that took place were rushed in timing making it not believable.
I was interested to see how this book gave a glimpse at someone with chronic pain. I felt the character’s desire to keep working and battle with the balance of resting was accurate but there was not much else that really showed her struggle so the name and the concept of the book didn’t work for me.
Personally, I also just couldn’t get behind the pranks they did on one another. I also think the twist at the end was just random and didn’t make any sense.
Overall I think the idea was good and it had potential. Some of the scenes were such sweet ideas…
Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was very excited to read this book from the description. However, the characters lacked serious chemistry with each other. Both Autumn and Elijah had such great potential to be interesting characters given their 'backstory', but the lack of character development made them so boring. There was a lot more telling, than actual world and character building, which resulted in a weird pacing of the story.
I really liked the suspense and mystery in the second half of the book, but it could have been better woven throughout the story leading to a climatic finale. Instead, readers were abruptly thrown into a mystery stalker plot.
Thank you to Kate Callaghan, the publishing team, and NetGalley for this ARC.

loved this book a lot. great chemistry and fun banter in the book. I will read more of her books. this was another great one.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

𝘔𝘴 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥'𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦 if it didn't had such an ignorant FMC. I'm sorry but Autumn really played with my brain in the first 100 pages or so.
It's not my first encounter with author Kate Callaghan but I have to be honest and admit that her former work, 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒩𝒶𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉𝓎 𝑜𝓇 𝒩𝒾𝒸𝑒 𝒞𝓁𝒶𝓊𝓈𝑒 was a better fit for me. Unfortunetely I couldn't resonate with Autumn nor the action. I didn't felt needed the whole 𝐰𝐡𝐨'𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐞
vibes because it should've been enough the drama that was already in place from the accident. Otherwise the ending made me roll my eyes a lot because there were a lot of things that didn't fit right for me.
Autumn is for more than 100 pages an ignorant and selfish person who is also very rude towards the MMC for no apparent reason. I could never understand the need to be so rude and selfish when the other people did nothing to deserve that. Autumn is exactly that type of character that could and will bring the worse in me because I simply can't stand it.
I actually took a liking in Elijah at some point in this but it's still wasn't enough. Ya, it is a cute story and I laugh at some funny moments and the spicy wasn't bad at all but AUTUMN. Again, I can't stress this enough.
I'm really sorry that I couldn't like this one because I did in fact liked Kate's other book, but I appreciate a lot and thanks NetGalley and the Publishing House for giving me this free d-ARC in exchange of my honest review.
The actual rating is 2,5 ⭐ because I really couldn't stand Autumn and the story felt dragged by the half of the book. The romance wasn't all that great as well.
