Ms Perfectly Fine had a good storyline but the portrayal was a more serious for my taste. If I looked at the characters and story separately, we have a winning book but I got lost into the descriptions of the book.

The emotion could use some more depth. The suspense on the other hand was well-built. The revelation in climax was absolutely unpredictable.

I would love to read a character like Elijah's again.

This isn't just perfectly fine...it's perfectly adorable. Think forced proximity and enemies to lovers. I do think some of the backstories of Elijah and Autumn were rushed over which would have helped with how quickly they fell in love but., it was cute. Sometimes you just need a cute little rom-com pallet cleanser and this is it!

Thank you to the publishing team and Net Galley for me free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you put everything I love to read about into a blender, and switched it on, you'd come out with "Ms Perfectly Fine."
We first meet Autumn, a grumpy classic pianist who is dealing with her chronic health issues after a tragic accident. She's living a quiet life alone, going to and from rehearsals for the local orchestra while managing her chronic pain from a terrible accident that almost ended her career and life before it had even begun. Her life is thrown into chaos (well, chaos to her) when Elijah, a sunshiny video game developer, is suddenly moving in to her rented town house without a notice. Thing get off to a rocky start when they try to push each other's buttons, but Elijah falls hard and fast, and suddenly wants nothing more than to make heart eyes at Autumn all day long.

When threatening presents start showing up at Autumn's door with more frequency and increasing threat, Autumn and Elijah have to put their animosities aside to figure out who is trying to sabotage Autumn's comeback performance.

Working together, Elijah wiggles his way into Autumn's heart, and shows her that it's ok to ask for help when you need it.

The banter is top notch, and the tension is palpable in one of my favorite reads of the summer!

Some formatting issues (Not to be included in my goodreads review)

I read this via the netgalley app on my phone - Digital format

- Chapter 8 Autumn formatting - Page 74
- Chapter 17 Elijah formatting - Page 128
- Chapter 21 - Autumn is originally in a wrap dress in the bath tub, then Elijah's hand is described as going under her t-shirt. Afterwards she changes into a dry dress. Continuity here (but loved the scene!)
- Chapter 24 Elijah formatting - Page 168

As a sucker for a reverse grumpy sunshine and a golden retriever boy, I loved Elijah. He absolutely rescued this book for me in the times that Autumn’s character got in the way - there were multiple times her character felt too shallow and absorbed in her own world.
That being said, I’m not a big fan of insta love and I feel like this is taking that to somewhat of an extremity. There wasn’t a lot of progress in their relationship, instead it felt like a jump from one status to another which left a lot to be desired in the romance and also resulted in me being detached from that part of the book.
Considering all the themes this book deals with, I think they were portrayed okay, but it felt a little overwhelming and crammed - the overload also resulted in a quite a few plot holes and questions jumbling in my brain.
The writing was easy to get through which made this a more enjoyable read and balanced out some of the cramming!
The plot was unique and I quite enjoyed reading about Autumns backstory, even from the prologue I was hooked, but I feel some more careful attention to detail and plot thickening could have really sold it. 🤍

All in all, this was an enjoyable read (thank you elijah) which I got through very quickly, but at times it was just too much for my brain and I didn’t fall in love!

Autumn Adler is a famous concert pianist, Elijah Wells, a game designer in the midst of building his own company.

Autumn wants the house. but Elijah wants her.

My overall rating on this book would be 3 stars, mainly because I had very high hopes for this book as the book cover looked so good and so did the description, but I really struggled to read it. I wanted to really love it I did, I liked it though I didn't hate it.
I enjoyed the Forced Proximity of Elijah and Autumn. but for me I really struggled to connect with the characters through the whole book. I want to credit the author to talking about chronic pain that autumn suffers because for me I feel we get this enough in books. Overall, I wouldn't be intrigued to pick this up again, but I glad I have read it.

So this book required a level of emotional maturity and inmaturity that many books don't need from the reader lately. I saw a few reviews complaining about Autumn and her attitude but I understood her. I related to Eliah a little less cause he's just stubborn. I mean I could relate to that but... I'm trying to break away from that habit.

The dog WAS the story for me 1000/10 top good girl!

This is an excellent read on a relationship that is good if you're willing to put up with some dramatics at the beginning.

The perfect enemies to lovers trope. Autumn and Elijah's relationship starts off a bit rocky but ends up being the cutest thing ever! The chronic pain depicted through out the book is spot on and sheds a light to those who are unaware of what living with chronic pain is like. The guessing of who is the villian and the twist at the end was shocking! Overall a great book and would definitely recommend.

3.5/5 ⭐️ Super cute story with great representation of hidden disabilities”! I had a hard time getting invested in the story but Autumn and Elijah’s relationship growth was so fun to read. I love that it’s a little bit of a cozy mystery but still showcases the character progression more than the “case”. I’m in love with Elijah and love that Autumn is the grumpy of this grumpy/sunshine sorry!

I really enjoyed this book as a combination of romance and mystery. I took 1 star off as I wish the mystery was more of a focus earlier in the book since the romance was predictable. Overall a fun read and enjoyable.

Cheesy and predictable romcom for if you're looking for an easy read in between.

Seeing the Grumpy-Sunshine trope was being reversed in this book, I decided to give it a try. I liked the personalities of the main characters and their very different professions. The story read very fluently and isn't hard to follow. Don't forget how amazing Brinkley is, she's definitely my favourite character. I also liked the way the author deals with consent throughout the story, its importance is really being accentuated.

It is however predictable (even the plottwists were pretty obvious to me) and very unbelievable. Things just didn't add up and the attraction-repulsion didn't make any sense at all. There were also lots of cheesy thoughts and sentences, a little bit over the top for me. Even though I like reading a romcom from time to time, I guess this one just isn't completely my cup of tea.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.

Autumn Adler, is a famous pianist, preparing for her solo comeback to the stage following a tragic accident. She has a strict schedule that she follows every day. Except for one morning, she wakes up with movers in her house. Her landlord rented out the ground floor of her home to Elijah Wells – a handsome game designer working on building his own company – without telling Autumn. As much as Autumn loves her privacy, she loves her townhouse to give it up, and Elijah is just as stubborn. Then there’s the problem of mystery roses appearing in Autumn’s house. Ms Perfectly Fine is a beautiful romance story with a mystery twist.

Oh my god, this book. I fully read this book expecting it to be a romance novel, and even though it was, the mystery plot caught me off guard in the best way possible. I was really intrigued and I physically could not stop reading. The reveal absolutely shocked me. It had everything I loved in a romance novel and mystery is one of my favorite genres so seeing them intertwined in the best way possible was absolutely perfect.

Autumn Adler. I loved her so much. This book had great chronic pain representation, and what I loved was how real it was. Yes, Autumn was going to physical therapy and yes she had her pills but the book explained her struggles so well; how tired and shielded she was and how she had these walls around her because she didn’t want people to pity her. It was so satisfying to watch her grow and let her guard down a bit. She learned that she can let people in and she can be loved without worrying about heartbreak. I absolutely loved her relationship with Sasaki and Tim. They were both like father figures and they both treated her so well, and as a lover of found family that made me so happy. I loved how supportive Autumn’s friends were, even when her parents struggled to show their support because of their fear. I expected them to show up at her return to the solo stage but oh well.

As for Elijah, he was literally the perfect boyfriend. Like the man was so communicative and supportive. He didn’t let his personal issues with his dad become an issue for his relationship with Autumn. He was so supportive and patient; he was willing to wait for Autumn to be ready for a relationship. He wanted his company to be successful on its own, which I also admired. I loved his friendship with Francis. I also liked the representation of Francis and his husband having a baby; the babysitting scene was definitely one of my favorites. I loved how his friends became Autumn’s family too.

I loved how Autumn and Elijah’s relationship progressed. I truly lived for their banter. I loved their revenge attempts and their flirty banter. It was a little fast-paced but honestly, that wasn’t really a problem for me. I think they had their own pace and everything moved smoothly. I truly appreciated their communication skills so much. They didn’t have unnecessary issues, there was no miscommunication. It was such a healthy relationship. I loved Elijah’s way with words. And of course Brinkly. They made such a heartwarming family.

I can’t even express how much I loved this book. I loved how Autumn & Elijah turned a house into a home. I was absolutely shocked when the mystery was solved. If you’re looking for a great romance with lots of banter and communication, with an intriguing mystery plot, this book is for you.

I got the ARC of this book from Netgallery but am writing this review with my honest thoughts.
I definitely enjoyed this book! The overall vibes were perfection and Autumn and Elijah were super cute mcs. I do feel like the plot progression was slightly awkward, it took me a while to get into the book because the beginning was slow going and then the ending was pretty rushed (The conflict resolved itself pretty fast and ended in like 100 pages.) I was also pleasently surprised with how the romance shifted into the mystery genre. I thought that was rly unique. 100% vibed with that tbh.

Ms. Perfectly Fine walks the line between an insta-love, enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine romance and a suspense. Autumn is a complex character dealing with trauma and ongoing chronic pain following an accident that nearly took her life. As she prepares to re-enter public performances with her first solo back, she meets Elijah who has, unbeknownst to her, rented out half the house she is living in. This follows their growth along with mysterious roses Autumn has been receiving. Who has been sending them and why are they making her increasingly nervous?

This is a forced proximity, insta love, slow burn type of romance. I genuinely enjoyed it! I liked the dual pov and forced proximity but personally I’m not a insta love romance type of reader. There’s a twist at the end which is actually predictable if you pay attention which made it more of a suspense type of romance read. The romance itself and the storyline didn’t need the twist, IMO since her and his back story was enough. Both main characters were a little dull and needed a little more depth to them. I would say it was enemies to lovers but the enemies didn’t last long before it was an instant love. Overall a quick & easy read!

Out of nowhere Autumn and Elijah are forced to live together in the same home Autumn previously lived for years.

This is probably the biggest nightmare for Autumn. But even more infuriating is that Elijah is a handsome man that battles her batter and doesn’t put up with her shit. If anything he is amused.

But even worse is the gifts she has been receiving. She has no idea from who it is, but it’s getting increasingly alarming and it will take two to solve it out.

This is an enemies to lovers type of book. We have an incredibly reserved main character that is forced to co-habit with an extremely social man. If that is not the recipe for trouble I don’t know what is.

I really enjoyed Autumn, I understood her. She is careful to whom she opens her heart to. She hides her secrets and scars well and she doesn’t like to deal with nuisances.

As for Elijah, I loved him. He is perfect. I love that he solves batter with batter. I love that he cares for Autumn and I love that he has a dog! He is just easy to like. And of course I loved them together. It was really easy to follow their relationship changing and evolving and I couldn’t but care for them.

This book has two people with immensely different jobs too, which was interesting on how would they adapt to one another in their home. She is a pianist, he is a game developer. Nothing at all in common other than the amount of hours they put into it. I found that dynamic of the book really interesting and couldn’t but root for them to exceed! My boyfriend is a game developer too so it was nice to see that in a book. I also think it was really well done, how many hours and drawings and changes Elijah put into it to make it good and profitable.

I also enjoyed the mystery side of this novel, it made it more interesting and kept me guessing.

This book made me smile in multiple occasions and was super easy to read. For sure willing to read more from the author!

Thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy of this cute book!

This book was such a fun ride! It wasn't anything I expected in such a good way. I loved Autumn and the way her chronic pain was so well represented. She was such a strong person while fighting so many demons inside.Seeing her journey of working through all her goals and how her pain impacted them was so well done.

Elijah was a character I didn't initially vibe with but he quickly grew on me. I think most of my frustration was from how they came together, but the banter and meddling they both did with each other soon overshadowed that. I loved the dynamic of their relationship. Their stubbornness and both their inability to admit their attraction to each other. I didn't expect the minor thriller plotline but really enjoyed the extra layer it gave to the story.

I really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. It was a fun ride that kept me guessing. I definitely recommend it for someone looking for a sweet, emotional ride.

Autumn is a pianist who is about to take the stage again after a tragic accident 10 years ago killed her best friend and left her with chronic pain. Since her accident, she hasn't been able to let too many people get too close and has spent the last 6 years living alone.

Elijah is a video game creator who, in exchange for his estranged father's investment in his company, has moved in with Autumn, without her knowledge, and she isn't too thrilled to be sharing her space with a stranger.

A fun little "enemies" to lovers tale occurs between Autumn and Elijah as their little pranks to the other person builds chemistry to lead them closer and closer.

As Elijah and Autumn grow closer, Autumn begins to receive more and more correspondence from a stalker who has been plaguing her the past 3 years.

I will say, I though I knew who was behind the threatening roses and notes for a majority of the book, but by the time I realized it wasn't that person, I easily connected the dots as to who the true culprit was. I did think some things moved a little too quickly between the main characters than what would be realistic and would have liked more of a slow burn but I know that not everyone loves a slow burn. There was a bit of spiciness but overall I'd rate 2.5/5 on the spicy scale. Elijah was a sweet and loveable love interest. I felt like chronic pain was touched on more in the beginning of the book but kind of faded away as the story progressed with only a few more mentions thrown in. I did enjoy that chronic pain was discussed and thought the author was realistic about it, especially in the beginning of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and CallaghanWriter, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for the free ARC for my review.

A fantastic romantic suspense, where the suspense was not too overwhelming. The antics between Autumn and Elijah were very entertaining and the book moves along at a good pace. The way Elijah falls is just swoon worthy.

Many personal struggles were touched on here including chronic pain, family drama and job stresses. I liked the acceptance, support and vibe that we all struggle with something. I loved the personality quarks of Autumn and Elijah it just added to them.

Overall I really enjoyed this boom, I found it a quick read, as I needed to know what happened next.

𝑴𝒔 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒆 - 𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒉𝒂𝒏

It was cute, but not great. I mean, there is nothing wrong with the story per se, I liked the writing and I also liked the characters, but there were some things that I didn’t enjoy as much as I was hoping I would.

I really liked the fact that the story talked about chronic pain because I feel it is a subject that it’s not talked about a lot. I think it showed very well how the life of someone with chronic pain can be. The romance was very cute. I liked that as well. The characters had chemistry and I loved how they took care of each other.

But, I do have to say that it all happened too fast. Elijah fell in love instantly and I’m not really a fan of insta-love. The enemies are not really enemies, more of you annoy me so I will annoy you back. I liked the forced proximity and the banter they had at first. I will also say that I was not a fan of Autumn’s choice at the end of the book… It seemed out of character.

I enjoyed the fact that there was a plot to this book besides the romance, however, it was not the best. It was too predictable, the mystery with one of the characters was not really a mystery because the readers are able to figure it out right away.

It was an ok book. I enjoyed the writing and it’s one of those books that makes you want to keep reading, but there were some things that were not of my taste.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Kate Callaghan for the digital ARC.

Autumn is a pianist and one day rudely awoken by Elijah moving into her house, because her landlord decided to rent the ground floor to him. That kicks off a relationship with lots of bickering, a few pranks and a bit of tension. Then it seems as if Autumn has a stalker, even though she tries to deny it.
This is a contemporary romance with a hint of suspense in it and solid chronic pain rep. For me the suspense aspect got lost a tiny bit and I wouldn’t necessarily call it enemies-to-lovers, simply because they don’t know each other well enough to be enemies. The don’t get on at first, but that changes way too quickly to ever call them enemies. The main characters are likeable, the dual POV gives good insights into their thoughts and the plot works, even though it’s hardly revolutionary. The red herrings are appreciated, but the plot twist isn’t earth shattering. It is a nice romance and works well as a palate cleanser or just an enjoyable time. I really appreciate the chronic pain rep and the queer side characters.
