I really enjoyed the detective/victim story line of this fast paced thriller! I listened to an arc from net galley and the narrator was great! The story was very detailed but didn't get lost in them. I flew through it and thoroughly enjoyed!

Wow. Just wow! I was hooked right from the start, I listened to the whole book in one day. This book was so thrilling it kept me on edge wondering what was going to happen next! I appreciated the point of view of the killer every now and then, it really added to the storyline. The book was very descriptive and made me feel like I was right there with Detective Lexi Bennett as she's cracking the case.

The audiobook was narrated by Sofia Zervudachi and was very well done. I found her voice to be somewhat calming in the midst of the gripping story. The characters were very easily definable and the parts with the killer were chilling. There were definitely parts during the killers POV that made me cringe.

I highly recommend this book and I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment of Detective Lexi Bennet.

A big thank you to Netgalley and Bookoutour audio for an audio copy of this book.

This book was gruesome, in the best way. Lexi is a detective just back from a stint in America learning to be a criminal profiler. She finds two dead sisters posed together on a hill and discovers their triplet is missing. That starts a race to find a killer and hopefully the sister alive.

The story will definitely leave you white knuckling your kindle (or in this case, phone because I was listening on audio :) )

The narration was fantastic. Sofia's voice was pleasant, even when giving us nasty details about the crime scene. This was a great listen, 100% recommend.

Wow! this book hits the ground running from the very first page and does not let up, it is perfect for a binge listen within a day. It starts when Detective Lexi Bennett who has just returned to Britain after working with the FBI for 4 years, starts her day with a run before starting her new job, when she comes across the bodies of two young girls dead on a hill, at first sight it seems they are twins but it is soon discovered that they are actually triplets and one of them is still missing. Lexi soon realises that the case has similarities to her own kidnapping from 17 years before, could it be the same person. I was lucky enough to listen to the audiobook, which I thought was superbly narrated by Sofia Zervudachi

This was such a gripping thriller!

The plot was so intense from the very first chapter - always good for a thriller mystery - and the narrator did such an amazing job at capturing the suspense. She even portrayed the different characters with really distinct and unique tones.

The main character Lexie was a detective I wanted to follow, and the case she follows is really intense and intriguing. It kept me hooked and on the edge of my seat!

I look forward to reading more from this author and in this series.

This thriller is told from the POV of Lexi and the killer.
This new series features Detective Lexi Bennett who just finished a four year training course at Quantico, VA for profiling. She has returned to her new job back in the UK.
On her first day she comes across the gruesomely staged murder of two teenage sisters. As she and her team start their investigations they find out the two sisters are really seventeen year old identical triplets – Lucy, Eden, and Paige Carter. Now Lexi needs to find Paige the third sister as she is missing.

Lexi is counting on her ‘profiler’ training to help find Paige and solve who killer her sisters. She also is facing something that happened to her and her sisters Rose and Amber seventeen years ago.
Yes! Lexi and her sisters were also identical triples who were abducted and held hostage. Lexi and Amber were able to escape but Rose was captured and presumed murdered by the abductor who was never found.

Story had me on the edge of seat. I was so sure I had whodunit it figured out after all I am a big psychological thriller fan therefore with my armchair training I have become an expert in solving these cases ~ lol

Narrator Sofia Zervudach did a fantastic job performing ALL the characters.

This is the first in the Detective Lexi Bennett series and I already put "The Girl’s Last Cry" Book #2 on my TBR list!!!
This was my first Alison Belsham ~ but not my last!! 😘
Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for granting me the pleasure of listening to this awesome thriller.

A gripping and chilling thriller that hooked me from the first chapter!

DI Lexi Bennett is out for a run one morning when she discovers the bodies of two teen girls murdered. As they dive into the case they quickly realize they are 2 of a set of triplets and the other is still missing. Lexi thinks this eerily echoes her and her sisters own abductions and wonders if she’s dealing with the media dubbed “triplet killer” again. As they race the clock to find the missing sister and catch a serial killer, Lexi must face her past for clues.

I loved the start of this new series, and look forward to more DI Bennett! There were a couple things in the story that were left with loose ends and I don’t know if it was to set up the next story, or if it was just missed, but I’m curious about the answers and hope to get them in the next one! The narration was fantastic, and she slipped seamlessly between characters and accents. The killers perspective was so eerie, and my only complaint was that those parts got a little quiet and I’d have to rewind to catch some of the things that were said.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my ALC in exchange for my honest feedback!

A great start to a series. This is quite a dark police procedural with some gruesome crime scenes and a really interesting mystery where the police are running out of time. I found it really unique that Lexi had a past connection to this crime and I think it set the series up really well as we get to have a more in depth view of who she is and her past. I did think it started being a bit repetitive towards the last third and maybe could have been a bit shorter but overall I really enjoyed this and I will be checking out the rest of the series.

This is quite a harrowing read due to the troublesome deaths discovered in the first chapter. If you enjoy a good detective story with a realistic cop in charge, then this is for you. Lexi is well covered as a character but I would have liked to know a little more about her team so that I could distinguish them apart better in my mind.

As a teenager Lexi is kidnapped along with her 2 sisters by the triplet killer. 17 years later she heads the team investigating another triplet murder. Can she solve the case in time to save the surviving sister?

An enjoyable read. Lexi is a very relatable character who literally faces her deamons.

However I did find it a bit predictable. There is a certain formula to these kind of crime books and this one follows it.

I will be looking out for more books I'm this series though to see how lexis character evolves.

The Girls on Chalk Hill by Alison Belsham is a serial killer thriller/police procedural. I really liked it. The premise and the story is very interesting and it kept me captivated from the very beginning. I didn't want for it to end!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Sofia Zervudachi and the voice actor did a wonderful job!
Honestly, there is absolutely nothing bad I can say about this book other than I really hope the author will write a lot more! The main character, Lexi, is a relatable and well written character.
100% Recommend to everyone that enjoys police procedurals, thrillers, serial killers, murder mysteries, Nordic Noir (it's pretty Scandinoir-esque!).

Wow! This was a gripping psychological thriller with excellent narration. I’m a Lexi fan from here on out.

DI Lexi Bennett stumbles upon two murdered victims just as she getting ready to return back to the force. As the case unfolds she sees similarities between this case and her own tragedy that began 17 years prior. Is it just a coincidence or is there more?

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook it was wonderful!

This book was SO good! The twists and turns and the process of solving this case kept me engaged the entire time. There was just enough mystery and spookiness that I couldn't stop listening. I definitely didn't see it coming for the person who did it which was fantastic. The main characters were likable and diverse as well. I can't wait to read more Lexi Bennett mysteries!

Detective Lexi Bennett is out for a run before starting her new post back in the UK, after being at Quantico for 4 years. She stumbles across 2 teenagers, dead, with their throats slit. When identified, the 2 girls are actually triplets and the third girls is still missing. Lexi is taken aback, as she too is a triplet, and 17 years ago she and her sisters were taken, and sadly one sister never escaped. With this raw memory, Lexi is determined to find the missing triplet and catch the killer, who has to be the same person that attacked her all those years ago.
An exciting start, to what I hope is a new series. Lexi is a great character, her background resonates in the strong persona she portrays now. Lots of detail and thought has gone into developing a tough but likeable character. A very enjoyable and gripping read. Can’t wait to read more Lexi Bennett stories.

I requested this one because it might be an upcoming title I would like to review on my Youtube Channel. However, after reading the first several chapters I have determined that this book does not suit my tastes. So I decided to DNF this one.

Not a HUGE fan of detective books, but I really liked this one.

Really loved how it brought you in right from the start.

What an exciting, thriller of a story ! Don’t miss this crime story that is the first of a new series.
DI Lexie Bennett happens upon twin teenage girls that have been murdered and are posed on Chalk Hill. After sone research, Lexie discovers that they are a set of triplets and one is missing !
Lexi was a triplet herself and survived a kidnapping 17 years previously. Is this a copycat crime or has the person who kidnapped her and her sisters back again ? One of her sisters is still missing and the unsolved case becomes a part of the modern story.
The narration was absolutely excellent on the audiobook. I will be looking for the next book in the series. Thank you Bookoutre, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This new series by @alisonbelsham features Detective Lexie Bennett who has returned to England after spending four years training under the FBI at Quantico. Before her first day back she discovers twin girls murdered. This new case seems familiar to an old case involving a serial killer. Is this killer back or is it the work of a copy cat?!

I really enjoyed this serial killer crime thriller! It hooked me from the start and had me questioning everyone’s motives. I am looking forward to more Detective Lexie Bennett investigations in the future!

Thank you @bookouture and @netgalley for allowing me to listen to this audiobook ahead of publication in exchange for my honest review.
