This is the fourth in the William Carver series and an excellent addition to the group.

The story is a real page-turner and its theme of climate change very much of the moment. Fast moving chapters take us around the globe as the story develops. The ways in which corruption extends beyond corporates into governments and naïveté sits alongside plain evil are sketched cleverly. There is a balance of interest in character and plot that keeps the reader interested on a number of levels.

As always in this series, the story gives particular insight into the world of investigative reporting. It also works very well on a more personal level: characters are interesting and relationships credible, so that the back story of Carver, Naz and Naomi, amongst others, is one of the pleasures of the book. Very much looking forward to the next one in this series.
