Sarah decides she needs a break. She leaves Australia and goes to Santa Monica. She loves the little town and all it needs to offer. While getting ready to leave the beach, she is plowed down by a jogger. Once she gets her bearings back, she realizes it was one of her favorite actors. Through a winning of a contest, their paths cross again and so starts a love affair. However, life and human insecurities come into play and things will change.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
ARCs can be unpolished but I suspect the copy I received was how the book is currently presented. There were no chapter breaks although it is a full length novel, and the detailed minutiae made the narrative just run on and on, like a record of events rather than an engaging story. It is supposed to be a book for adolescents but the main character is in her early thirties, although she didn't seem to behave in any way consistent with this, e.g. her previous boyfriend moved into her family home very early in their relationship because of the pandemic. The story starts with her plans for the trip of a lifetime but then we learn that she visited the same place at least twice before.
I didn't think the thoughts and feelings were realistic from the beginning and I strongly disliked the narrative style so I stopped reading at 8%.

This is such a great story and is a real tear-jerker. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was engrossed from cover to cover.

Make sure you have the tissues to hand with this one as it will definitely take you on a rollercoaster of a ride. Heartwarming and heartwrenching.
