After the initial pages, I found myself not connecting with the story or characters, so I decided to pass on this book. Did not finish

This is an easily digestible saga of a family in the fledgling American colonies struggling to thrive in the shipping industry just prior to the American Revolution. Each character is developed in ways that make a reader feel that they know them personally. Through triumph and tragedies, I applaud this historic rendition and feel better for taking the time to savor it!
