❄👰Can they pull off the perfect Christmas event?🎄

This novel is loaded with the trappings of a sparkling, winter wonderland December in the Scottish Highlands; I loved the descriptions of the wildlife, beautiful scenery and decorations though at a certain point it all seemed too perfect to be real! But, in contrast there's a good bunch of mayhem caused by snafus in a promotional wedding event for the luxury Starcross Manor resort and the mysteriously contrary bride and groom. The problems cropping up inserted a bit of reaIism and I liked the mystery element even though the author made it pretty obvious from early on who was behind the wedding preparation glitches.

My favorite part of the story? Fashion designer heroine Libby's warm friendship with young Holly, the daughter of her handsome neighbor at the Starcross Manor where she's temporarily working for the owner, her brother, as a wedding planner. Libby and her new guy Guy were a cute couple, especially with Holly included in the mix.

What drew me to this story and others in the Love Heart Lane series were the small-town setting and the cooperative community feel. Everybody gets along and pitches in when someone's in need. And with the added Christmas -time season magic, the story is happy, hopeful and sweetly romantic. It was a lovely read to get in the Christmas mood.

Thanks to HarperCollins UK/One More Chapter and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I received a free copy of, A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor, by Christie Barlow, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book twelve in the Love Heart Lane Series. Libby Carter who is a fashion designer knows family comes first, so she decides to help her brother Flynn out. It was so nice to see some old characters and meet new ones. I really enjoyed this cozy Christmas read. Libby, Guy, and Holly are great new characters.

A new Love Heart Lane book is always an enormous treat and this one doesn’t disappoint. Although part of a long running series it can easily be read as a standalone novel.
It’s slightly more inward looking than usual and the community less in evidence although still present to help when needed. The wintertime, snowy setting provides an ethereal, dreamlike quality although there are plenty of shenanigans to be addressed!
All in all I throughly recommend.

I think that each time I pick up a Love Heart Lane book I believe it is my next favourite. Once again this latest book in the series is my new favourite! Each book is a story in its own right, but the author has crafted her series around the people who make up this wonderfully close-knit community. Starcross Manor is at the forefront of this story with some favourite characters dropping in.

Starcross Manor is a wonderful-sounding hotel in the Scottish Highlands, run by Fergus and fiance Julie. It is his sister, Libby, who is one of the leading cast in this story as she drops in to help with organising a wedding at the manor. She is joined by Guy who is a wildlife photographer and filmmaker who owes Fergus a favour and also needs a break from his own life and problems.

Libby is a fashion designer who is due to go to start a new career in New York, she has built her brand from the floor up and helping Fergus with a wedding when his current planner has quit for personal reasons seems like a good fit. It gives Libby a chance to catch up with family and friends before she makes the next step.

Anyone who has read any of these books knows that, once you visit you never want to leave. It is also similar for the readers of this story because many of us never want the books to end and eagerly look forward to the next one. Now in the 12th book, the author has created a wonderful setting and a fabulous community for her fictional series and one that always welcomes you back.

Libby and Guy have chemistry from the start and it is down to a little dog that makes the initial introduction. Both of the characters have reasons for not wanting to be in a relationship and there is some great banter and flirting between the two. There is also the story of what they are trying to avoid. Each one has a story that is sad and also heartbreaking. The reasons for one of these I didn't expect, but it actually fits well in this series.

With other characters coming back, it helps to catch up with some old favourites as well as mentions of the last book. It keeps the reader up to date with goings-on in the community and also is a great way of just nudging the memory a little.

Because the author introduces new characters in each book, it means that it is easier to remember them, some stand out more than others and there are firm regulars that you would expect. This keeps things feeling real and relevant for each book.

With the wedding plans and some shocking choices, Libby has her work cut out for her, she also has a secret project in mind. I did wonder if things would turn out how they did, but how the author led me there was a journey that had me hooked.

I adored these two new characters and the others that came with them, and I look forward to seeing where things go with them in the future as I am sure they are going to appear again.

Another wonderfully written story set in an amazing community. Full of warmth and romance but with a suspicious and shocking twist. This series and this book are brilliant and if you are a fan of romance then you are going to adore this one. If you are already a fan... you are going to love it! It is another I would definitely recommend.

The latest book in the fabulous Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow.

Starcross Manor owner Flynn has been left with a predicament after the sudden resignation of his wedding planner. A prize wedding is due to take place on Christmas Eve to show off the Manor is a prime wedding location, so Flynn calls on sister Libby, a fashion designer, to help out last minute. He also calls in a fabour from videographer Guy - between them can Libby and Guy work out what is strange about the couple who have won their dream wedding and save the day?

I love this series, and this latest book didn't disappoint. The author weaves well loved characters from other books in, and introduces us to new. Libby and Guy were fun to read about, although they did both seem a tad too perfect at times! I'll definitely be looking out for the next instalment.

A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor combines wedding planning, holiday cheer, and small town atmosphere for a sweet but unmemorable read. A lot of interesting characters and plot elements, but none of them were explored as deeply as I would have liked.

I was so happy to receive this to review. One of my favourite series and it didn't disappoint. Back at the wonderful Heartcross with familiar characters is like being with family. Christie Barlow has a way of writing where you feel like you are actually there. It has snow, love, Christmas and a wedding. What more could you want. I loved finding out more about Libby and Guy and no doubt it won't be the last we hear of them. I absolutely loves everybsingle page.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another great book from Christie set in Love Heart Lane.

Starcross manor’s wedding planner has left her job and left Flynn with a wedding to plan with no planner. His sister Libby is waiting to move to New York. Flynn contacts Libby and asks her to help him out. Things start to get Libby wondering if the couple are all what they seem.

Guy Hart is the wedding videographer but hates weddings and usually films everything but weddings. Can Libby change his mind about weddings and say yes to love at the same time.

How the other half live, without a care in the world and all the money they need! A dreamlike novel, centred around the planning for a Christmas Eve wedding. Only in this case it’s not the intended winners of a competition to have their dream wedding, who had outrageous ideas of what they wanted and go to great length to undermine the reputation of the idyllic setting of Starcross Manor as the best venue for celebrating their vows. The key characters have no flaws and are perfectionism personified. It’s easy to get swept up into the fantasy world of this romance which reinforces that the future is theirs for the taking.

An enjoyable warm-hearted novel, set in snowy Scotland.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers Harper Collins One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this advance copy.

When Libby agrees to help her brother Flynn her life changes over night. Planning a wedding in record time for two people she doesn't know is a challenge but a bigger one is keeping her heart tight against Guy, the videographer. She might have a shiny new job in New York but Scotland might win out. No spoilers from me. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC, A light fun read with good atmospherics that might be part of a series but which is thoroughly enjoyable as a standalone as well.

What a perfect Christmas book, I was quickly transported to the twinkly snow covered wonderland setting in Scotland. Throw in log cabins and a winter wedding and the scene is set.

Dress designer Libby heads off to Scotland to help her brother Flynn salvage a wedding competition after his event planner inexplicably left suddenly. The vendors are in place and the winners chosen, they have filmmaker Guy to record the planning and event and showcase Starcross Manor at its best.
But something isn’t right, who are the competition winners, why is there no paperwork, and why do things keep going wrong? And how will the choice of an all black themed wedding show off a winter wonderland?

This is a good story, I liked the characters and the mystery plot added to the budding romance between Libby and Guy, despite them both having issues about weddings.

Highly recommend, really enjoyable read.

So this book is the latest in the Live Heart Lane series, it can definitely be read as a standalone but for those that have read previous books, it's a nice catch up with a couple of previous characters. I absolutely love this series and devoured this book in record time. Lovely characters, beautiful setting and such a joyful festive read with a touch of intrigue and a dash of romance, this makes it a perfect book. Thanks netgalley & publishers for an advanced copy.

Such a feel good read. Guy and Libby are excellently described and I was invested in their families, the business and their romance. There were quirks and betrayals for Guy and bruises and big decisions of Libby that followed through the book and we went with them. A bit of sabotage, a beautiful wedding dress and no one will be able to resist little Holly and Pickle the dog.

I have not read any other books by this author nor any others from this series but neither issue mattered.

I really enjoyed this light rom-com - read it in two sessions and had a smile on my face!

Both main characters - Libby and Guy - have their issues but each is able to help the other look to the future with hope.

All set in the beautiful Scottish countryside with an array of colourful characters and some underhand dealings!

Just a lovely read.

Libby Carter, sister of the owner of premium hotel Starcross Manor, ends up doing her brother a favour and organising a wedding for a competition winner. For Reasons (which are well-handled), she's a bit triggered by weddings, but she throws herself into it and also works on persuading Flynn and his fiancée Julia to book at date for theirs. She's got a fancy new job in New York lined up, having thrown herself into her fashion business after heartbreak a decade ago, but as Heartcross works its magic and she meets Guy, the photographer assigned to shoot something different from his usual nature photography, who makes her want to stay even more.

Then they meet the competition winners and things certainly turn unusual. But while styling their wedding isn't the most fun, especially when all sorts of things start to go wrong, sharing Julia's wedding scrapbook and doing a secret project bring Libby more joy. Will the competition winners make it up the aisle? What can the rest of the community do to help? Heartwarming and sweet as ever, with plenty of intricate detail but but the usual turn to a more serious issues at the heart of things, you do hope things will come out right.

What a fabulous festive read! I absolutely loved all the main characters and the setting sounded idyllic. Flynn Carter, who owns Starcross Manor, is let down by his wedding planner and so ropes in fashion designer sister Libby. Flynn has also got photographer Guy on board but he isn’t a fan of weddings. There is an instant attraction though and Guy finds he can’t say no to Libby. This had plenty of romance as well as twist and turns. I hadn’t realised that this was part of a series and will definitely be looking to read the others. Thank you to Netgalley and One More Chapter for the ARC
