Another thrilling read in the William Warwick series. I devoured this in 2 days. There are two separate plots running through this book. The characters involved feel like friends at stage and Williams kids are stars themselves.

Jeffrey Archer never fails to provide a clever, thought-provoking and twisting tale and this book doesn't disappoint. Continuing the lives of familiar characters, the reader instantly connects with them and gets totally caught up as they resolve cleverly-linked puzzles as the story unfolds. As ever, this latest addition to the series is hard to put down.

Trailers gate review
Big fan of Archer the writer but not the man.

I have been fortunate to have read all the pervious William Warwick thrillers and many many others books from Archer who is my guilty secret author!

Traitors gate is one of the best and it starts where Miles Faulkner won is appeal and was able to get back to the Savoy and plot his revenge on Warwick Hogan and Hawksby.

There are many enjoyable sub plots with Mrs Lomax and Beth and the Fitzmolean director interview and what happens with the Christ's decent from the cross painting but the main story line is one of Archers best. And one many may recall from learning about Colonel Blood !

I may be wishing for to much but it looks like Ross has real romance in his life again but for how long will it last is the question especially with a is flirting . The twists and imagination is genius writing and only a EX conservative MP could write such a book....

Thank you Jeffrey and hope to read some nice things about the Labour party & a young JC in the next instalment now that Blair is in Government!

There’s no doubt Jeffrey Archer tells an intricately woven tale, well researched and quite believable if not rather predictable in its outcome
We meet William Warwick again and his team of officers including the maverick Ross Hogan seeking to thwart the plans of the deviously minded criminal Miles Faulkner who is out for revenge on the team. This time Miles’ plans include stealing the Crown Jewels - and he’s certain he’ll succeed

Oh joy of joys! Another William Warwick book. I really wanted to sit and read this to the exclusion of doing anything else but didn't want it to end either. I love these books and this one didn't disappoint. William Warwick and Ross Hogan enter a battle of wits against their nemesis Miles Faulkner once again. This time in a plot to steal the Crown Jewels! The book gets off to a cracking start with William's wife Beth trying to right a wrong from the previous novel to get back a piece of art stolen from the Ashmolean by Miles. Of course all this takes split second timing and numerous people working together across two continents! Miles' wife Christina continues to change sides as often as she changes her designer shoes. As always Archer pays meticulous attention to detail. Not only in the main plot but all the smaller subplots going on around the main storyline. A fantastic storyteller, I just hope Jeffrey Archer never stops writing these books. They are just a pleasure to read. 5* every time.
Thank you Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for giving me the opportunity to read this book. All opinions are my own.

The Tower of London is historically famous for keeping prisoners in, and the Crown Jewels safe. Once a year, the Metropolitan Police carry out a secret operation to support the removal of the reigning monarch’s crown and ceremonial scepter, in order to be worn for the formal opening of Parliament. The jewels are delivered to the palace, and picked up and returned again the next day.

This operation is carried out in secret, and with random routes selected, passwords changing, and security at every point. For the past four years Chief Superintendent William Warwick, along with his college and second in command Inspector Ross Hogan, have overseen this process. For four years, their attention to detail, care and caution has meant the job has gone without a hitch each time. Until the day that their criminal foe, Miles Faulkner, plans a heist, determined to make Warwick and Hogan the most hated men in the country for losing the most precious symbols of the monarchy on their watch. Once Warwick and Hogan realise what has taken place, time is quickly running out to prevent heads from rolling. Imprisonment in the Tower of London would be the least of their concerns.

This is the sixth book in the William Warwick series. As an established series, it doesn’t take too much time to establish characters, presuming we already know who they are, and why certain situations are as they are, and why certain people are doing what they are doing. Without having read some of the previous books, you may be a bit confused, or not quite understand some of the character's motives. As a stand alone, without the full backstory, some parts of the story might seem a bit unclear.

However, from the outset, the story is well written, with a lot to keep your interest. The descriptions of the inner workings behind the scenes of the Tower of London were intriguing, and the author's inside knowledge shines through. I also really enjoyed the history of the Tower of London that was woven through the story. While not massively relevant to the plot, it was a nice interlude at points. There are some good moments of tension, and some great plot twists, while not overly dramatic, they are entertaining, and keep you turning the pages to make sure the good guys win. An enjoyable read, but one which is definitely enhanced by reading some of the previous in the series, which is no hardship in itself!

*I received this book from NetGalley for review, but all opinions are my own.

Traitors Gate is the sixth book in the Detective William Warwick series by Jeffrey Archer. This was an action-packed rollercoaster from start-to-finish. There was so many twists and turns I didn't see coming that kept me reading and although I read this as a stand-alone I felt a familiarity with the characters and will definitely be checking out the rest of the series.

Wow - what can I say?! From beginning to end the book flows effortlessly but it's the final 50 pages that kick this book into a different realm. Talk about a page turner!

In "Traitors Gate," Archer re-introduces us to an array of captivating characters, each with their own motives and secrets. Traitors Gate represents Archer's 6th William Warwick adventure and I for one can't get enough of the leading man!

Archer presents William Warwick as a principled and moral character, unwavering in his commitment to upholding the law and serving the public. His integrity and determination often put him at odds with corrupt individuals or powerful forces seeking to subvert justice. However, William's strong sense of justice and his refusal to compromise his principles make him a compelling and admirable protagonist.

The Tower of London serves as a symbolic and atmospheric setting for the events that unfold in the novel. With its imposing walls and rich history, the Tower and Crown Jewels add an air of mystery and intrigue to the story. It evokes a sense of the past, with its connections to monarchs, prisoners, and political conspiracies.

Highly recommended.

This was an entertaining read if a bit coincidental.
light summer reading that doesn't tax the brain too much. For any fan of Jeffery Archer this follows an similar style to many of his previous books.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to be an ARC reviewer for Traitors Gate. As an avid reader of all Jeffrey Archer books and one who has thoroughly enjoyed both the Clifton Chronicle and William Warwick series this was an absolute pleasure. 'Traitors Gate' is perhaps my favourite book of the William Warwick series involving as always Williams arch enemy Miles Faulkner in a plot to steel the crown jewels which was brilliantly told and keeps the reader in suspense to the last page. Long may the William Warwick series continue to entertain us all.

A fabulous read that is full of deceit and double crossings. I love the William Warwick series and this follows the rest perfectly.

The latest William Warwick does not disappoint it's a race against time to stop the theft of the decade and of course he meets up with his long-time enemy Miles Faulkner.

Can he and his team prevent this catastrophe?

You will race through this book if you like these characters and the Warwick series. Looking forward to the next one JA.

Book #6 in the Detective William Warwick series by Jeffrey Archer.

The Tower of London is one of the most securely protected places in the world - it has to be, as it houses the reigning Monarch’s Crown Jewels, used every year at the State opening of Parliament.

This year however, plans are afoot to steal the Crown Jewels during their transportation from the Tower to Parliament. The elite protection squad at Scotland Yard led by Chief Superindendent William Warwick, are responsible for escorting these precious jewels, but this time will be very different, because someone is out to get, not only the jewels, but also Warwick!

It goes without saying that Jeffrey Archer is a master storyteller, who fills his novels with fascinating characters, and, (in this case), insights into what goes on behind the scenes at events such as the State Opening of Parliament. A complex but clever storyline involving the world’s major heist, some interesting (though not particularly likeable characters) and plenty of twists and turns. Another winner for Archer.

A great read although rather far fetched in places. The author clearly draws on his knowledge of behind the scenes goings on in Parliament and within the royal family. Characters are well thought out and the story is easy to follow. Thrilling in places!

Thank you to Netgalley the author and publishers for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review

I absolutely loved this latest installment of the William Warwick series of books. Most of the characters you are already very familiar with so no need to spend time getting to know them, instead you can concentrate on the storyline instead. And what a fantastic storyline it is with lots of twists and turns as the plot plays out! Highly recommended!

I loved this book. I've read several earlier books by Jeffrey and all are the same high standard. Definitely in a 'ripping good yarn' category of book. Wonderful not to have endure yet another 'Hollywood Style Ending' where the lead P:olice Officer in the book is kidnapped or does this unbelievably stupid and is saved by his team arriving in the nick of time.
Traitor's Gate never falters and the final last few chapters are especially tense.
Thoroughly recommended

an easy, gripping and fun read. The sense of betrayal that runs through, and the lengths that people go through to get their revenge no matter how long or what it takes is engaging. Add in some real moments reflecting on time in prison, divorce and the wants and needs for money, and what just and kind people do to make the world work for the rest of us makes this a must summer read.
