"Emotional and physical distress mingle in the shadows, making it hard to discern what's real from what's imaginary."
What to expect/Triggers:
- Insta-Love
- Dual P.O.V
- Car Crash
- Cheating Trope (but not by main characters)
- Hidden Identity
Lana is an engineering Ph.D. student. Christian is a movie star. The pair meet in an unlikely way within a storage cupboard. Christian is hiding from paparazzi who are currently outside and decides to hide in the cupboard until they die down. This is where he finds a crying Lana, who just discovered her boyfriend and best friend in the hotel together. Lana doesn't watch any tv, so had no idea who Christian was and thought he was just another wanna be actor.
The book was very fun and very cute, I read in just about a day. I was completely glued. it was refreshing to read a romance book without any smut, it was a much needed palate cleanser as I usually read books that are very heavy smut.
I found the insta-attraction/insta-love was too quick. Lana has only just broken up with her long term boyfriend, Yes Christian did wait two weeks to ring, but even if Lana wasn't in love with her ex anymore, they were still together for ten years.
I enjoyed how Lana brought Christian back down to reality and that not everyone needs an expensive handbag, that cost the same amount as someone's wag for a year. I also liked how Christian listened to Lana when she didn't agree or liked how something was going. But then I think in a couple of occasions Christian just needed to speak to Lana and some of the things that happened could have been resolved sooner.
I was also surprised we never got any apologies or had some sort of conversation with Summer. I have yet to read Summer's book so maybe we get one there..

*Thank you Netgalley for a copy of the book for an honest review.
*Sorry I am very late with the review
A meet cute between PhD candidate hiding in a storage closet at a hotel after discovering her boyfriend and now ex-best friend getting it on in a room there and a top tier celeb hiding from the paparazzi. As an astrophysicist, she is totally unaware of the stars of the lesser celestial nature. Her total lack of knowing who he was attracted him at first...is it enough though. Cute and sassy. I particularly enjoyed the heroine's, Lana, deep convictions and that she stuck to her guns.
Lana is a scientist who loves her job but when she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her with her best friend, she follows them to the hotel where they are meeting. At a loss for what to do, she hides in a closet where she meets Christian Slade. When he realizes she has no clue who he is, he’s thrilled and wants to get to know her more. As they start to get to know each other, Christian starts to realize he’s starting to fall for Lana. When she realizes who he is, things start to change but will they be able to work post that? It’s a fun, entertaining STEM romance.
Movie star Christian Slade seeks refuge from paparazzi at a hotel and stumbles upon Lana, who is distraught after witnessing her boyfriend's infidelity. Lana has no knowledge of Christian's celebrity status, which he finds relieving. Christian comforts Lana and offers her a ride home in his eco-friendly car, leading to an instant connection. Lana gives him her business card with her phone number. When Christian calls Lana, he faces the challenge of concealing his fame and fortune, raising questions about what will happen if she ever discovers his true identity.
The book provided a swift and uncomplicated reading experience, with the story unfolding at a steady pace. The friendship and budding relationship between Lana and Christian felt genuine and lifelike, although I had reservations about his decision to conceal his career and wealth from her. It was enjoyable and featured several instances that elicited genuine laughter and numerous heartwarming moments. This book is an ideal choice for Rom-Com enthusiasts, and the prospect of two more books in the series makes it a worthwhile investment of your time.
Everything happens so quickly. The timeline of the story from start to end just fees too short for some exceptionally clever people to make that kind of a life-changing decision. I think the book could have been a little more filled out with respect to the characters too.
I adore @camillaisley books and this has been one I couldn’t wait to read. It has delivered and is quite possibly my new favourite by this author.
This is fun, charming and filled with moments that will keep you smiling. The characters are just gorgeous and you can’t help but love them from early on.
This is beautifully written and transports you. I love how Christian tried to hide his fame from Lana. I found myself smiling at so many different parts of this book.
Isley is a brilliant author and a must for the TBR. This book is one that completely uplifted my mood. Although, I also loved the insight into celebrity life.
This was perfect to read after a busy day. I have loved the interactions between the characters. I found myself completely invested in their journey.
There is nothing negative I can say about this book. It is brilliant from beginning to end. An absolute must for the TBR.

I really loved the premise and the idea behind the story—a hotshot actor falls in love with a STEM PhD student. The start was gripping, the middle waned a bit, and the ending was just a shade uninspired, but The Love Theorem did not fumble its landing, so kuddos for that! A cute, light-hearted read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an e-ARC copy of this book, in exchange for this honest review.
I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
The Love Theorem is a closed door romance between a PhD student and Hollywoods hottest star. I like the characters, especially Christian who was almost too good to be true. I did find it hard to believe that Lana had never even seen his face before if he was as famous as he was, it has to be insanely difficult to avoid all pop culture news. I loved their initial meeting and it was all very sweet. A nice easy read.
Quick Summary: A star and a STEM romance
My Review: The Love Theorem by Camilla Isley was a well done contemporary love story. It featured a Hollywood actor and a rocket scientist.
About the Book: After a traumatic heartbreak and betrayal, Lana temporarily closeted herself away from the two people who devastated her through their actions. While waiting for the coast to clear, she met Christian. They immediately shared a connection that was out of this world. Could these remarkable opposites get past their hang ups and chart a new course set on forever?
My Final Say: This was a beautifully penned story. It had interesting characters, realistic action points, and a solid ending. I would definitely recommend it.

Appreciation is extended to the author, to the publisher (Boldwood Books), and to NetGalley. Thank you for granting access to this work in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute quick read that started with Lana (a STEM PhD candidate) and Christian (actor, named sexiest man) meeting in a supply closet, hiding from cheating ex (her) and paparazzi (him). Instant attraction plus the fact that she has no idea who he is, what could go wrong?
There's a few things that I loved - his attempts at wooing, I mean the picnic, the cooking, the grand gesture with consulting at the end. 🥰 🫠 🥰 but I didn't love the lack of chemistry, the MMC's gestures were extra thoughtful but he spent a lot of time referring to her not knowing about his profession that it took away from the chemistry that could have been. Additionally there was a lack of some major resolution in certain areas. *SPOILER* the car crash?! Like that felt like a way bigger deal, the third act get back together, while it was a heck of a grand gesture....we didn't get to see anything after they got back together. Tye epilogue was all about his career next steps (with a paragraph on what she had been up to) rather than them. Also, for all of the marketing of the stem portion of the plot, it wasn't really that included.
Perfect for those that want to get lost in a celeb/cinderella rom com for an afternoon!
Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!
This read had me gripped from start to finish, it was a really intriguing storyline with two fascinating leads. They were so likeable, I found myself flying through the pages and enjoyed every second of it.
This is such a cute read. You are thrown straight into the story from the first page and honestly I just flew through it. I found it so easy to pick up with likeable characters.
I did find it was a little instalove which I won't lie isn't a favourite of mine but it was okay. Also there is a lot of stem talk and I did find myself skimming some of this. But without it we wouldn't have had a clear picture of Lana's personality so I do get why it was needed.
I really like this authors writing style, really fun, short chapters, relatable storyline, what's not to like?!
I am not someone who reads romance books without fantasy/action in it but i gave this one a chance & i’m so glad i did because it was a great quick read! I’ve been in the mood for a quirky romance ever since ive finished it.
Thank you netgalley & the publisher for the ARC!
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. this was fantastic, just what i have come to expect from this author and look forward to carrying in my book store.
This book gave me Ali Hazelwood vibes. I didn't read the prior books to this series by Isley, but it works as a standalone. I loved the wit back and forth between Christian, the movie star, and Lana, the rocket scientist. I was looking for a little more intimacy or depth though? There was something missing from the book, but I felt it was a cute read and Isley is certainly a talented writer.
This was a sweet, cute, and fun read. Really liked the light hearted nature of the book, and the chemistry between our two main characters was great.
In "The Love Theorem" by Camilla Isley, science and stardom collide in a charming and heartwarming romance that proves that even the most unlikely pairings can lead to something extraordinary. With its delightful characters and a whimsical meet-cute, this novel offers a fresh take on love, fame, and genuine connections.
Lana is a brilliant rocket scientist with a deep love for her cats, her friends, and her books. Her world is turned upside down when she discovers her boyfriend's betrayal with her best friend. Seeking solace, she finds herself in a broom closet, of all places, where she encounters Christian, Hollywood's reigning heartthrob. What follows is a heartwarming and often humorous journey as two seemingly different worlds collide.
Isley's writing style infuses the story with lightheartedness and charm, making it an engaging read from start to finish. The witty banter between Lana and Christian adds a layer of fun to their interactions, making their growing relationship even more captivating.
Searching for a book to help get you out of a reading slump???? Then look no farther than Camilla Isley’s The Love Theorem. This a cute, fast-paced read, guaranteed to leave you wanting more!!!
Crying in a supply closet was not how Lana saw her day going. But before she can compose herself, she is joined by Christian. The two hit it off and begin an unlikely relationship. Things seem to be going well, until Lana discovers Christians true identity. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles standing in their way, or will their differences pull them apart?
This book was just what I needed to help get me out of my reading slump. Despite reading 15 books last month, I read primarily to meet deadlines instead of reading for enjoyment. So I was super surprised to find I had finished the entire book in a matter of hours.
One of my favorite aspects of this book was Isley’s female protagonist. Lana is academically driven (a doctoral candidate at UCLA). She spends her days teaching and conducting research, and her nights reading with her cats. She is contentious of her carbon footprint and serves her community by helping to close the socioeconomic gap in education.
While The Love Theorem is apart of Camilla Isley’s Love Series, it can be read as a series or as a standalone book. I enjoyed this book so much, I will be reading the remaining books in the series and recommending it to others.
Special thanks to Camilla Isley, NetGalley, and Boldwood books for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.
