This book provides the kind of priceless support needed and instruction for anyone looking to set up a community-based project. I was impressed by the level of detail and knowledge that the author conveys in a beautifully structured manner. The only sorrow for me is that the specific information is very much UK-centered, but I do think that those working to create change and social justice scaffolding in other places will also get ideas about how to approach their own community projects. My thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for providing me with a review copy of the book.
This book was an easy-to-navigate “map” to get you started in “Making a difference”. I was sad to learn that this book was geared toward readers in the UK and am hoping a version more relevant to US readers will be released. That being said I was still able to pull loads of information that is relevant in my quest to do more in this world. People in the UK will find this book most helpful when navigating the legal aspect which is essential when starting these types of projects. I found the information straightforward and easy to understand.
As a teacher, wife, and a mother of two, I am always on the hunt for fun and educational books. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was interesting and not what I expected. I truly learned a lot from this book. As a teacher, it is important to know your community and know it takes a village to help raise a child, especially when it comes to their education. This book was interesting because it gave you experiences but also told you how to do a project effectively. This year I am moving grade levels and I will definitely be incorporating some of the tips for my projects this school year.
