A good steady romantic comedy book. The author had created very likeable characters and an entertaining storyline, which at time was frustrating, you found your rooting for them to get together. The story being about vets was a good twist to the normal romantic comedy you get, plus we had pets which is always a good thing.
. Thanks to netgalley for this arc
WILL THERE BE AN ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROPE WHERE THE CHARACTERS DONT ACT LIKE 5 YEAR OLD CHILDREN?
Also, what was with the other love triangle added in there??!
🤮🤮🤮🤮
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.
As someone who spent 5+ years in the animal health world, I am drawn to books in that realm, make it a romcom and I will ignore my life to finish it. Oh and it's an enemies to lovers trope? D A M N.
I enjoyed this book, finishing it on my day off. I will definitely be checking out more by Elise..
Okay, I just finished the book and I can say that it is so wholesome to read. I loved a good enemy to Lovers book. Malakai and Parisa are two characters that are both headstrong, stubborn, intelligent, and competitive so I knew that they were so perfect for one another. Elise Eliot did a great job writing this novel. I love pets as I grew up with them all my life. I don't know much about dogs but I liked the bit of information given on how pet care. Reading this book was like watching a Hallmark movie and I love that there was a happy ending. I know there probably won't be another book with Malakai and Parisa and if it was, I'd buy it in a heartbeat because this was a story I was invested in. Thank you Netgalley and Elise Eliot for allowing me to read this book.
This was a fun romcom centering around two veterinarians. They have two very different vet practices and they are in direct competition as their businesses are side by side. Parisa’s vet practice focuses on the holistic approach and Malakai practices traditional vet medicine. There are a lot of fun characters in the book and a lot of cute animals. Definitely a fun summer read.
Parisa and Malaki are both vets with differing styles. Unfortunately they have practices next door to each other - and both finds the other extremely attractive. The ending is quite obvious, but none the worse for it.

✅enemies to lovers
✅vet
Malakai and Parisa are both Vets, however Parisa take a holistic approach to her practice and Malakai thinks she’s a fraud and is all up in her business because he doesn’t know that she actually went to Vet school. When he finds out he starts to see her in a new light. I swear I could feel the sexual tension between the two of them through the screen😂 I loved their banter!
I’m not sure how I felt about Dane like honestly that man seems so freaking sweet and Parisa just kept him on a leash which I didn’t think was fair. Like I understand that she wasn’t sure of her feelings for him so she didn’t want to end things, but when she knew she didn’t put her foot down.
However for this being a romantic comedy I did find myself tearing but at one part in the story that hit a little bit closer to home for me. That’s my dog just got diagnosed with cancer. So I know exactly how Parisa was feeling and how much it sucks knowing you could lose your fur child.
OK, so at first, i felt that the enemies' aspect of malakai and perisa's relationship was a bit too full on. Malakai was so irate about his views that It rubbed me the wrong way. I get that he had strong views on holistic veterinary medicine, but he came on hard and strong.
That being said, the progress from hatred to tolerance to feelings felt organic. Their dynamic suited the slow burn trope of the book. I honestly think I would have given up if all of a sudden they went from hating each other to snogging face. Their antics were funny to read, and after the dog walk-a-thon, their banter took a more playful tone (I feel like we can thank the dogs humping one another for that).
Let's talk about the love triangle for a second, please. Was it really necessary? I can sort of understand the need for Dane as he made Kai and Risa a bit more sure of their relationship, but other than that, he was a bit of a useless character. And flipping annoying. I mean, he wasn't even a threat. He was just a love bombing turd. And the proposal, urgh give me strength.
AND one more thing! For such a passionate and independent character, why the hell couldn't Risa grow some lady balls and dump Dane? It was so clear that she wasn't into him, and she had 'attempted' to cool things off, but it was half arsed each time. I just didn't get it?
Overall, this book was a nice, easy read, and It didn't take up too much head space to follow along.
The story is cute - but somewhat boring. I started this book on a Friday night and really couldn't get into it. I stuck with it and it reminded me of a comedy of errors.
I can't resist a story featuring vets and pets. I loved this one, an enemy-to-lover and had a lot of fun.
The author delivers and entertaining and compelling story.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Love Unleashed was such a cute RomCom. I love any books that involve animals so I knew this one would have my interest about two veterinarians. I found this book to have a good pace and enjoyable characters. I would recommend this book.
Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
I love books about animals and I love romance so this seemed like a win win. It was a fairly ok read but the slow burn felt a bit drawn out at times. Clean-ish romance, not that spicy, so if you're looking for that kind of book, great! Towards the middle I had to push myself on a bit. Admittedly I prefer a romance with more spice. Thank you to netgalley for this ARC!
I love enemies to lovers and animal as so the cover/blurb really drew me in. I really like that each doctor has a great relationship with their co workers. The FMC called the MMC funny Dr. Names. Overall it was a cute read but it felt very rushed. After Dane, so much happened in the last couple of chapters. The start had a lot of banter that seemed very exaggerated. Then they both fall for each other very fast. Gigi was also very annoying. I saw what they were trying to do but it seemed too forced.

I like a good funny misunderstanding or similar but I am over the whole miscommunication thing. It would be nice to find a different way for characters to overcome obstacles than just realizing they should've talked.
A cute story- if you like the miscommunication trope, this will be right up your alley. I was ready for them to figure things out and get together!
This one was fun! I really enjoyed the story, and loved the enemies to lovers trope going on. I think my favorite parts were when they were yelling at each other. I do think a lot of the dialog didn't sound realistic, and I could have done without the entire side romance part.
More like a 3.5/5 for me.
I enjoyed the workplace/enemies-to-lovers aspect of this book and it added good tension. What I didn't like was the love triangle aspect because it's just not my thing even when well written. There were a lot of characters with their own side plots going on and it was a little too much for me to keep track of.
Love Unleashed by Elise Eliot
I'm going to be honest, I almost didn't finish this book. I picked it up and put it down multiple times. This is an enemies to lovers trope, but there is so much anger. I had a hard time getting into it.
I really enjoyed a Persian heroine and an Italian hero. Boisterous, loving families.
I received an advance review copy for free from NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was an enemies to lovers, grumpy sunshine, and clean romance. Parisa Hadid owns a holistic centered vet practice. Malachi Dixon owns a conventional vet practice. Their practices are side by side and they don’t agree on anything. I found that the book moved slowing for the beginning, but did eventually pick up. I had hoped for some spice, but this is a clean romance book. Overall, it was a decent read.
Enemies to lovers? Slow burn? Animals?? CHECK CHECK CHECK:
Love Unleashed was utterly lovely and I cannot wait to see what the author surprises us with next :)
