I enjoyed the beginning, and I enjoyed the ending… Middle(Dane) was a little blah. Enemies to lovers trope is a favorite of mine though, so it was enjoyable. I read an ARC on NetGalley, so I think the Thanksgiving on Saturday thing was fixed(hopefully).

Two vets with sizzling chemistry go head to head in this comical enemies to lovers story. There are some funny moments and I enjoyed the misunderstandings in the beginning. The last 25% of the story seemed rushed and drawn out all at the same time. The main misunderstanding doesn’t get resolved for ages and then there is a love triangle of sorts that I thought felt strange.
Despite all this it’s a great quick read if you like animals and vet stories.

Thank you to the publisher, author and netgalley for this arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An easy read that drew me in with enemies-to-lovers Parisa and Malakai battling each other from their neighbouring clinics, with sparks flying and chemistry in spades. Everyone sees their fighting for what it really is but it takes this pair a while to catch up. How can your relationship take a complete 180? Is it worth the risk? With so much bad blood between these two, it’s inevitable that this was a slow burn kind of romance. I couldn’t get enough of Malakai’s rebirth as a wooing casanova and was totally loving his confidence and with Parisa finally feeling seen - and by two men - it was rewarding to watch the emotions unfold.

It did feel a little like reading my own dating experience on paper and I’m sure many others will see a bit of themselves in Parisa, or their exes in Dane (I definitely dated a Dane) and maybe even their current partners in Malakai. Whilst I don’t think I could handle all the shouting myself, even from a man like Malakai, Parisa definitely seems to match his temper and forgive it. Love is a battlefield, so they say.

Anyway, romance, four legged besties, and a lot of warring with words - a great book to wile away the weekend with!

Oh Parisa honey, run fast and run far from these guys...

I liked this book - I really did. But damn, did the female lead Parisa not have much to work with. She's got the clingy boyfriend who is so keen on getting married in the same time frame that his parents had years ago, that he has blinkers on and his hearing off. He starts out like a Hallmark boyfriend and ends up a bit like a Lifetime psycho. Weird dude.

Then she has the male lead, Malakai, who starts off with strong Clark Kent energy, but then also descends into clingy territory. If you like her, tell her, sure, but don't essentially stalk her while she's dating someone else and love bomb her. Not cool my man.

Also, side note, but what was up with Malakai's sister, Gianna? She was so touchy-feely with him and on two occasions used herself as the prop to make Pari jealous. Ew girl, no. Don't be strange.

Still, the book had dogs and scenes with dogs and stories about dogs, so I cant complain too much. It also had some really funny one liners, which is always great.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers. I appreciate you. All views are my own!

A funny and sweet read . It is about two vets Malakai and Parisa who have their business next to each other and they keep fighting . He is the classic vet and she has holistic pet wellness center . Almost every day there is a reason and they arguing . Behind that there is hiding passion . But when Malakai try to tell her about his feelings she already has a boyfriend . Will he get the girl of his dreams ?

... this was a little frustrating to read, and it's entirely the male lead's fault.

I'm being nice with my rating because the potential and the plotline is there, the execution is the only thing I found lacking.

The male lead was crazy. He swung back and forth between I like her/I hate her, and once he realized he liked her, he did almost nothing to ask her out other than randomly trying to appear in the same room as her. Sure, the female lead could have asked him out as well, but at this point she didn't even know she liked him, so it's all the male lead's fault. He not only composed several ridiculous scenes to make her jealous by using his sister and flirting with some other girl and then never truly clarified what was going on between him and all these other girls after Parisa saw them together.

Both characters felt inconsistent and the entire story felt like an exaggerated version of a contemporary romance - it wasn't very realistic, and honestly, quite ridiculous. I mean, Parisa should have dumped the hotdog guy the moment he didn't listen to her about "slow your roll I'm not marrying you" or any other moment she told him to chill out and he just said "i don't want to fight with you."

Frustrating. But, the plotline was there, at least. I just wanted the leads to be together more than the last... 5% ish.

thank you Netgalley for the free copy

I was drawn to this book initially because of my love for dogs and all things related to animal care. I got what I was looking for in these two rival veterinarians that are enemies with a very different approach to veterinary medicine. This part of the story was entertaining and I really enjoyed the banter between the two.

The story didn't spend as much time on the romance between the characters as I would have liked. The love triangle seemed disjointed to me. I lost some interest when that started.

I also would have loved to see this story from one perspective. When they jump between different character point of views, I feel like the story loses its flow.

A solid effort but I was a bit disappointed. I'm hoping to see another book by this author that tweaks these things a bit.

Tropes:
-Enemies to lovers
-Slow burn
-Rom-com
-Work rivals

This was such a fun read, I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. Parisa(fc) and Malakai(mc) are both veterinarians and share buildings for their practices. They both have different methods of doing their jobs and immediately but heads due to differences in care for the pets in their care.

If you love enemies to lovers in the workplace, you will like this one. The workplace banter and fighting was enjoyable to read. I liked that the main characters didn't instantly get over their issues and become friends, but this was a very slow burn. I'm not always a fan of slow burns, but the tension, little moments, and romance before they got together were great. I liked reading about a Persian main character and seeing some cultural aspects in this book. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the love triangle with Dante. It was very obvious that he wasn't a real threat, so it seemed to be an unnecessary plot point. Overall this was so fun and quick to read, kudos to the pets that were their own characters lol.

This book was pretty good! It had similar premise of The Hating Game, which is one of my all time fav books! Love Unleashed is an enemies to lovers, slow burn, work related contemporary romance story! The tension between Parisa Hadid, a holistic vet, and Malakai Dixon, a traditional vet, is HIGH! I loved getting to see the tension and hatred moving to liking each other! My one and only critique is that when Dane, another love interest of Parisa, comes in, I'm gonna be honest I was MAD that he was considered for so long! Now, is that a writing thing? No! The storyline had dragged me in so hard that I just wanted him OUT OF THE WAY so that Kai and Parisa could be together! I also loved, like Elise Eliot's other book, Miss Indecisive, I really loved the addition of different cultures! It was a really fun read and I definitely recommend it to the enemies to lovers trope lovers out there!
I will be making a post to my Instagram @mandj_bookalicious soon!

I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers, so I knew I had to read this one. I did lose interested when the love triangle started and I would have loved to see more of Parisa and Malakai’s romance. Overall, it was a bit disappointing at parts for me, but nonetheless an entertaining story.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did! A wonderfully funny, sweet, entertaining enemies to lovers story.

“Oh, and Parisa? I’m not giving up. Not until you tell me you’re not interested. I’m in this— for the long haul.”

I found the cover of this book appealing and the blurb caught my attention. I enjoyed the story, the enemies to lovers part was entertaining to read. Paisa & Malakai had great chemistry. But when the love triangle was introduced I lost interest tbh. (view spoiler) The story moved so fast after 75% and I wanted to see more of Kai & Risa as a couple before the story ended unfortunately that did not happen so I am a bit disappointed.

What happens when rival veterinarians with two different philosophies on treating animals open up competing clinics next door? Tensions, sabotage, and…love?

Parisa Hadid absolutely does not have time for love. Planning pup-lates events, treating animals at her holistic vet center, and taking her adorable dog Cupid for beach outings leave little time for much else…unless it’s taunting her attractive yet irritating neighbor, and rival veterinarian, Malakai Dixon.

Malakai Dixon knows exactly how to treat the animals that come into his veterinary clinic: with traditional practices, thank you very much. No reiki, no sound therapy, and absolutely no chanting. With both Parisa and Malakai believing their approach to veterinary medicine is best, can these two learn to work in harmony or will their constant bickering force both practices to close their doors?

I love the premise of an enemies to lovers rom-com set between two rival veterinarians; however, in this instance, the execution fell short. The enemies portion of the story lasted maybe thirty pages with the resolution coming quite abruptly. After that, Parisa and Malakai’s story took a backseat to everything else that was going on in the story. While I am not opposed to a well-crafted love triangle, the one in this novel drug on far too long and detracted from the primary romance. The romance the reader should have cared about did not have long enough to develop and mature. The hero and heroine also read as immature. They were supposed to be in their thirties, yet they did not read that way. I kept having to remind myself of how old they actually were. Malakai’s sister was also very over the top and acted much younger than her age, which made it surprising when Malakai went along with some of her actions.

I make this next statement fully understanding that I read an arc of this book received from Netgalley and things may change between then and publication, but the constant tense changes and spelling errors really took my focus. I sincerely hope that the Thanksgiving dinner that took place on Saturday has moved to Thanksgiving’s proper date of Thursday. The bones of this story were there and the premise was adorable, Love Unleashed just needed to focus more on the romance.

Vet Malakai Dixon is annoyed by the holistic vet Parisa Hadid next door. Parisa isn't excited by his uptight behavior either. Can they work together before both of their businesses go under?

While I mostly liked this book, the switch that was flipped was so sudden it was a little goofy. That said, the way it all came around was great. and fun dogs always make stories more fun.

This book was a pretty quick read! I loved the enemies to lovers and that they were TRULY enemies. I really really enjoyed Parisa and Kai’s characters and the amount of chemistry they had. It was a pretty quick sweet read. The parts I wasn’t a fan of were the relationship of Kai and Gigi. I’m not sure why but their relationship just felt weird to me and I wasn’t the biggest fan. At the end of the book I was also very confused why they started question Gia’s job and shifting the focus to her. She also got a chapter in her own perspective which made the end feel a little disconnected. Is there going to be a book about Gia in Italy? The plot line felt rushed and forced. Other than that stuff I liked the book. I loved the aspect of the animals and contrasting viewpoints. I loved all of the other side characters as well. I LOVED the fact that culture was included with each family as well!

This was such and adorable novel that had me excited all the time. I am a huge enemies to lovers fan so that was the first thing I noticed and I can say it didn’t disappoint. The constant fighting and banter between these two added an extra layer of tension to the story that made it even more enjoyable. Also, the emphasis this story had about animal care and love is something that has to be recognized because we need more of this kind. It was heartwarming to see how much the characters cared for their furry patients and how they were willing to go above and beyond to help them. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance where they start as enemies and are forced to work together, cute puppies, and a story that will warm your heart.
