As a young queer woman I always love discovering new queer individuals and this book introduced me to new individuals. I love how easy this book was to read and how Rebel Girls is introducing young readers to individuals and activists of different genders and sexualities.

Thank you, yet again, Rebel Girls. These books are marvelous, full of amazing and inspiring LGTBQ+ people. There's a lot to be learned in this book, and hopefully classrooms across the globe will have in on their shelves. I know I'm going to get it for mine.

Once again Rebel Girls has come out with another great installment to their collection. This collection includes stories of members of the LGBTQIA+ community from all cultures, identities and even generations. I always enjoy the diversity and inclusion in these books and this one is no different. I really like the added QR codes to listen to longer stories/information about some of the people featured in the book, plus all of the interactive and informative pages at the end of the book that would really be so beneficial for those trying to learn or trying to figure out who they are.

Just like all the Rebel Girls books, women are celebrated and admired for their amazing feats and straight up awesomeness. In this particular edition they are celebrating some pretty cool women of the lgbtq+ community such as Billie Jean King, Molly Pinta, Laverne Cox, Janelle Monae, and several more. Each woman has a unique story and beautiful portrait. I really enjoyed reading all of the stories about each of these women some of which I didn’t know about until now. As usual I was not disappointed with this Rebel Girls book and they may be geared more towards a younger audience but I think everyone would enjoy these books.

Each of the people mentioned in the book refuses to deny who they are. That is inspiring. They know there will be challenges, but they present themselves to the world as they are. This book isn’t just for girls, it’s for anyone who is trying to figure out who they are.

Some stories include a QR code for more on that person.

Activities are in the back including terms to know.

Thank you NetGalley and Rebel Girl for the opportunity to read this book,

Another lovely Rebel Girls book with stunning illustrations. The selection featured is once again varied, although I don't know if the title could have been changed considering the subject matter - Rebel Girls being not so inclusive on non-binary indentities.

This will definitely be finding its way into my classroom book corner all year round and displayed prominently during pride month.

I'm a big fan of the Rebel Girls series, and have seen 1st hand the positive impact they've had on young people I know. So I was thrilled to see a pride focused title.

I love that quite a few of the people here were previously unknown to me, I go out of my way to read/review queer biography type books and this selection was young and fresh!

Given the space limitations, I like that there's a QR code to find out more, a nice use of the tech.

The illustrations are, as usual, lovely, and the info is pitched at a the older end of the range of these books, but could easily be explained by a patient adult/older child.

There's a good range of genders, sexualities and race/country diversity in the selection of people. My only ick is that, due to the branding, they're all under the title of 'girl', something that I feel it's fair to suggest some of the people would object to. I'm not sure how they get around this, given the brand is long established now, possibly a quick note explaining? Overall it is right that these people are included, rather than just left aside though

Highly recommended!

This book needs to be in every library and in every school. I hope every queer, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming child can read these stories or stories like these. To see themselves reflected in the pages. To see that they are more than just their gender and sexual orientation. And that those parts of their identity do not hold them back or prevent them from doing whatever they want to do in this life. This book is full of short, one page stories about self-love, acceptance, pride, activism, and breaking barriers from women, girls, and non-binary people from all around the world. Some people you may have heard of and others you might not know. The stories are about people who range from activists and lawyers to athletes and singers, from comedians and actors to scientists and artists. Each story is also accompanied by a portrait illustrated by female and non-binary artists from around the world. And there are bonus activities about pride at the end. You can even learn more about some of the folks included with the Rebel Girls app. I highly recommend this book - especially to any who has kids or works with kids in any capacity!

My hope is that more and more people will read this book. It very briefly, but beautifully shares individuals stories in coming out and what pride means to them. The illustrations are vibrant and I love the little details and quote. It even has some activities at the end.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Every new book I read from the Rebel Girls series makes me love it a bit more. It is so inclusive and diverse. It does not only use celebrities as girls and woman to highlight, but also young girls like themselves who want to start a pride parade at 11 or scientist want to represent their heritage and themselves in books of fiction (with ghost dogs)

Once again, a great book for the collection

Thank you so much for this eARC! I loved learning more about these amazing people. As always, the Rebel Girls series excels in succinct biographies that still capture the incredible feats of a diverse group of people. I very much appreciate how Queerness/gender nonconformity is a central theme across stories but isn't the reason *why* the subjects are incredible.
I definitely recommend this book for elementary school kids- and younger!

GORGEOUS! A beautiful book filled with a diverse set of indiviuals in the queer community. Representing all pronouns, gender identities, sexual identities, culture, race, countries, and stories - this book is such a perfect entry for middle school and high school students to learn more about queer role models and historical figures. A book worth having on your bookshelf and referencing year round.

Love how it ends with the invitation for the book owner to write their own story and draw their own portrait.

I am also keen on how the editors bring together a variety of female and nonbinary illustrators.

Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride tells the stories of 25 queer individuals’ journeys of celebrating their identities. I appreciated that they included folks across the sexuality and gender spectrum. There are stories of activists whose identities are central to their work, and other who simply did their thing while being queer. This affirms an important message - where being queer ranks in importance to your entire identity is completely up to you. My main criticism of this book is the same as my criticism for every Rebel Girls book: give us more details. Kids love facts. Give kids interesting information and they will tell everyone about it.

I liked this book. It is a collection of life stories about members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Is is very inspiring to people of all ages.
What I liked the most is that this stories are from real life. Which means they are not rose-colored, not written excessively positive, but they show each person's real life with its highs and lows.
This book shows the rawness of queer people's lives in a society that has difficulty accepting them just for being who they inherently are. It then describes the joy of freedom and self expression; the feeling of being lucky even just for being able to open some people's eyes on their narrow-mindedness, the hope other people may still open their eyes and that things may be able to change on a bigger level, in towns and cities and nationwide. The persistent will of fighting for their own and others' queer people's freedom of expression.
I was particularly amazed by how much courage it took all of these people to fight for their rights. They are amazing. And they're fighting just for their basic rights that should be accepted automatically and that instead, are fought against on the daily by so many ignorant people. Every each one person from the LGBTQIA+ community is just amazing. Keep fighting. Thank you for this book. 🏳️‍🌈

This is a beautiful compilation of women and girls who represent and have made strides in the LGBTQ+ community.

This is more than just a wonderful tribute to all peoples pride related! It is truly a celebration of accepting who YOU are and those around you. The inclusion of lesser-known icons of the LGBTQIA+ community and using lovingly drawn portraits, rather than photos is inspiring and effective. As is the inclusion of non-binary folks - veering away from the "Girls" part of Rebel Girls.

Each offering from Rebel Girls strives to include more and more different facets of our world - and I love them for that. The section in the back of the book, encouraging readers to write their own stories and present their own portraits is brilliant, as is the "terms to know."

Thank you Rebel Girls for continuing to open your arms to all and creating a welcoming and warm place for everyone.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the honor of receiving the ARC in exchange for my honest opinions..
