This is only my second Rebel Girls book, but I continue to be impressed and inspired by the information these books supply. I appreciate their dedication to celebrating diversity in all aspects. These books are written for kids, so of course the language is simple, short, and easy to understand, but I still always end up learning a lot from these books. I particularly like learning about those in sports and science because I don't follow those fields much in my everyday life so I like getting to learn about new people.

Thank you, NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is another great addition to the Rebel Girls line of publications.

This book gives LGTB+ kids a chance to see a variety of trans, ace, gay, and two spirit representatives, many of whom are still alive today, and are diverse in cultures and races.

From celebrities to activists to scientists to kids making changes, these 25 stories are empowering and encouraging.

Must recommend for elementary and middle school library acquisitions.

Nonbinary young girls think that they are alone in their feelings and are judged by others solely because of that particular difference. This book introduces nonbinary women who have done things in their lives that make them admirable to all and role models to their younger admirers.
Rebel Girls books are the best!
The illustrations continue to be delightful, imaginative, and colorful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Rebel Girls via NetGalley. Thank you!

This book was amazing! I loved that it featured people from all over the world, and even the illustrators were all female/non-binary artists. I loved that it showed what country they were from, and that so many of the pages included QR codes to learn more. The Terms to Know at the back would be so helpful!

“PRIDE IS NOT ABOUT BEING
ACCEPTED; IT ’ S ABOUT ACCEPTING
YOURSELF REGARDLESS OF OTHER
PEOPLE’S OPINIONS.”- Sherente

A fantastic new addition to the Rebel Girls brand. Stories shared of people from a variety of circumstances who are proud of who they are, no matter what. What a wonderful message.
Thanks to Netgalley for a temporary copy in exchange for an honest review

Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is the next addition to the Rebel Girls family of books. As with all Rebel Girls, the illustrations are gorgeous, the stories are inspiring and representation of all types of people is incredibly important and done so well. An absolute must have in classrooms and home bookshelves.

Thank you to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for this ARC!

Rebel Girls has produced a timely and important book aimed at young people (middle grade) who want to learn about some very interesting people from all around the world - people who have transcended the traditional definitions of female and male and who have “broken down barriers, honored their identities, and lived authentically no matter what anyone else said.”

As always, Rebel Girls has produced a gorgeous book, filled with colorful illustrations and brief text describing each person. The illustrations are created by female and nonbinary artists from all over the world. They are just lovely to gaze at.

The people profiled here run the gamut from those who are famous in the US (Billie Jean King and Janelle Monae) to those you probably haven’t heard of. They are athletes, activists, scientists, lawyers and more. I was particularly taken with the story of Sherente, a dancer and activist, who is a member of the Narragansett people. I learned that LGBTQ indigenous people use the term “Two-Spirit” to “refer to people with genders that stretch beyond the categories of ‘male’ or ‘female’.”

One reason I say it’s timely is because too many states in the US are currently considering or have recently passed laws that discriminate against the LGBTQ population, or at least make their lives harder. In fact, two of the stories in this book highlight young people who are working against recent legislation passed in Florida: Will Larkins and X Gonzalez.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the opportunity to read an advance readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

What an impressive list of inspiring LGBTQIA+ folks to celebrate and learn from! I appreciated how nuanced this book’s author was in including a wide spread of intersectional identities, ensuring many different parts of the community are represented. Often times these types of books center white, gay men and leave out the Black, Indigenous, and Trans voices. This books not only includes them but uplifts them as folks to look up to.
This is a book for every public and school library and for folks who have 7yrs+ kids at home or at work! I’m so glad to see the Rebel Girls folks being authentically inclusive!!

Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is another hit in the Rebel Girls franchise. This story highlights twenty-eight brave, beautiful souls through the course of twenty-five inspiring stories. Each story is accompanied with a full page colorful picture done by a female or nonbinary artist from around the world. These are stories of proud girls, women and nonbinary people from around the globe and throughout history. Some are trailblazers who've helped to pave a path of acceptance and others are celebrities and activists of today doing their part to help build an educated and accepting world.

In the back of the book is a page of activities to help kids find ways to celebrate their own greatness. Also in back is a page to help explain the differences between Gender Identity, Gender Expression and Sexual Orientation. Sprinkled throughout the book are QR Codes you can scan to unlock extra content within the Rebel Girls App. As a pre-release reader not every code unlocks for me, but of the ones that do the stories are amazing. This is a free to download app that requires a monthly or annual fee to access the full content. From what I can tell you do not need to subscribe in order to access the content given within the book(s). This is the only downside for me when deciding whether to purchase these Rebel Girls books. Each story is brief, but the added content of the app makes them shine. The content that this corporation has to offer is so amazing and important, I wish it was accessible to all girls regardless of income level. I live in a town with a high poverty rate, too many children on the free/reduced lunch program. Many of the inspiring people within these books have faced adversity and if they were children today I can't help but wonder would they have had access to the treasures hidden within the app.

As a mom I am happy to share these stories with my daughters. Love and acceptance top the list of traits I hope to encourage in my children as they grow into the adults of our future. I want them to be inspired, be authentic and be free to live and love however they choose. I would recommend this book to parents but also to anyone who would love to treat a special little girl in their life. They make great gifts and will be appreciated for years to come.

I was loaned a PDF copy of this book from NetGalley and Rebel Girls Inc. in exchange for an honest review. The opinions within this review are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for providing me with a copy of this book. I absolutely loved reading about so many of our LGBTQIA+ Role Models and I can’t wait to get a physical copy of this book to show both my children!

Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is such a fantastic addition to the rebel girls collection! It is inclusive and celebrates many different people not just those who identify as female. There are people who identify as different genders and different sexual orientations. The book includes many people from different races and physical abilities as well. This is a unique book that highlights 25 different people, hopeful at least one for every child to read and relate to.
As with many of the Rebel Girls books this features short biographies and bright graphic pictures. These stories are great to read before bed or they also make a great book for people to flip around and read the stories that interest them. These are nice when kids are having a hard time focusing, they do not need to read this book cover to cover.

I can't wait to see this book in print, it would make a fantastic addition to any classroom or home library!

Thanks to Netgally and Rebel Girls for giving me access to a sneak preview.

What a beautiful book! Stunning illustrations!
I really love the layout of this book and the option at the end to add your own story.

Full of positivity and diversity!

Great to see a list of terms at the end, super informative. I would have gained so much from a book like this as a young person.

A book for young people to have more knowledge and people to look up to in the LGBT community. I really love that each story has a qr code for more information on each person featured throughout the book!

The usual totally fabulous outing. I ordered this for my niece before reading it myself. Amazing art work, carefully thought out words and descriptions, sensitive handling of pride and gender identity. Inspirational tales from the present and recent past to empower teens and slightly younger. Ten stars.

This was my first Rebel Girls book and I was absolutely impressed with the stories of all 25 of these amazing people in the LGBTQIA+ community. Each one has their own interesting story not a single one is the same, which is something that's very real in the LGBTQIA+ community. I had honestly didn't know who most of them were just because I am not big into keeping up with famous people, I keep to myself a lot, so learning about some of the people who have shaped a community that I've belonged to for many years now was eye-opening.

I will be looking into more of the Rebel Girls books, it was a quick read and very moving. Will for sure recommend this book to others.

Thank you to Rebel Girls for inviting me to read this book.

I *really* wanted to enjoy this book since it was going to present people in the LGBTQIA+ community. Unfortunately, it was a slightly underwhelming edition of the series. It may be that it felt as if the writers were dodging outright saying the term someone identified as (example: Ireen Wust identifies as bisexual but that’s not said. Instead, we get a mention of Letitia de Jong.). If there’s a label, put the label. If there’s not, then be vague. It’s a pet peeve of mine.

I did like that there were a lot of people listed who I didn’t know. This is my #1 reason to read a Rebel Girls book.

Another great title in this collection and a good way to inspire young readers by showing them stories about others who fought for queer rights.
I knew some of the persons but discovered some new ones. I was really happy to see faces from all around the world, especially Singapore!

I received an electronic ARC from Rebel Girls through NetGalley.
This formula has proven successful for all of the areas Rebel Girls explore. In this volume, readers meet twenty-five rebels who stand tall for what they believe and who they are. The quotes are empowering and challenging from each of them. Be sure to use the QR codes to learn more. The portraits capture their spirits and bring them to life for readers.

Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for this free eARC.

I can now safely say that I am a true Rebel girls fan!!!

And of course I jumped to a chance to read the new installment in the series.

This one tells the stories of the people of LGBTQA+ comunity and helps everyone in this crazy world we live in today understand them a bit better.

It's a small but important step in making their voices be heard and supported today in the society full of misunderstanding and prejudice
