Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun was an absolutely hilarious romp through the demon world. An adventure of destiny, misfits, and fun, it is an absolute must read for fans of isekai and comedy-adventure manga like Blood Lad!

I did do a review on Instagram. I thought it was okay. It is more up my partner's kind of Manga. It is one I would read if he asked me. But it is just not for me. My partner did read it and loved it. He had a great time with it.

This was such a cute book. Watching Iruma make friends and get used to going to (demon) school was so delightfully wholesome. He's a good person honestly, and genuinely trying his best to do good and be kind in circumstances beyond his ken. I couldn't help rooting for him from the get-go, and I can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series.

This volume genuinely had me laughing on my commute home. A perfect comedy of errors story about a boy who gets sold to a demon and has to attend Demon School. I love how the author uses very on-the-nose plot armor and coincidence to allow Iruma to get through this first initial volume. It is done with so much nuance and is incredibly hilarious.

I love the message about kindness and avoiding violence. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the series has to offer.

I want to thank Netgalley for an advanced ARC of this manga.

Review...

Well I will admit I do love reading mamga and this was so much fun to read, I was rooting for the main character but at the same time thinking at times u need to stop saying yes all the time because his too sweet of a character. This book was engaging, funny and full of demons haha 😄.

Looking forward to volume 2

I did love this book, but I can only recommend this with reservations. I worry that using a Semitic alphabet for demon ranks could be seen as racist, whether the author intended it or not. The meat of the book was mostly light-hearted, and I loved the found family aspect.

I magic slice of life manga where the main character is an unlikely hero, a human among demons. As readers we walk with Iruma a path of self discovery, friendship and power, all seasoned up with humor, cozzy-vibes and underworld madness. This high school fun times will just show as that being the chosen one is not always what we think.

Okay, so I wanted to read this because I saw a tik tok explaining the first little bit of it and thought it sounded hilarious. I was not lead astray.

This is somehow ridiculously wholesome and incredibly funny. I was pleasantly surprised by how cute it is.

Honestly, I don't really know what to say, aside from I'm committed. It's great. It's not life altering, but I definitely would encourage people to read this, especially if you like issekai type things or you want a kind of uno reverse issekai hero. Yeah, read it.

A unique and refreshing twist to the isekai genre.
This manga is really fun and funny, the artwork is nice and the story is enjoyable.

Iruma kun is a complete total pushover and this stems from his parents forcing him to be independent from a young age, he learned to just say yes to anything and everything.
One day he finds himself sold to a demon by his parents.
Luckily the demon has no ill intentions and just wants a grandson, Iruma being the pushover he is can’t say no and accepts.
He is then quickly enrolled in a demon school, but he must be careful for if anyone finds out he’s a human he’ll be eaten!

Highly recommend this hilarious manga you will not regret reading it.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review

I enjoyed this manga. It was very cute and had some silly funny bits.

This manga follows our Main Protagonist Iruma Kun. His parents are lazy terrible people and they have sold him to a demon who in turn takes him to the Underworld in order to make Iruma his Grands and attend the Prestigious Demon Academy.

This story is a comedic Slice of life which is cute, Funny, kind of silly and heartwarming. This first Volume is enjoyable, though understandably (since Manga’s are episodic) a little slow to get to the good parts. If you’ve watched the Anime, this volume only gets to the end of the Rankings Arc.

The Art is good and the Mangaka does a good job of making Iruma’s expressions hilarious. I giggled a few times even though I knew what was coming. The Translation was good, I found no errors and nothing that seemed off from the original.

Overall this is a fun Manga and a very good localization. I would be happy to recommend it.

Thank you to Kodansha and NetGalley for the ARC. This is my true and honest opinion and I am posting it voluntarily.

The art style is very cute and the anime adaption is great. This is a light-hearted, slice of life comedy manga that I found to be a great manga to read and give you a couple chuckles. I found "Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun" to be a delightful manga that offers a refreshing break from the ordinary. It's the perfect choice for those seeking a light-hearted read that will leave them smiling long after they've turned the final page.

I absolutely adored this manga and I’m really looking forward to the future volumes. It’s really humorous, but has some sweet/touching moments, and I’m intrigued by the plot of how Iruma is going to move up in the demon realm despite being a human. I’ve really enjoyed all the characters so far too. I like the core concept of his unluckiness and ineptitude (along with just constant kindness) actually being what works for him in getting through his demon school scrapes!

Star Rating: ★★★★★

I did not know quite what to expect with this one, but I'm glad that I picked this one up! The art was great, the story was great, the characters were great, it was just great! Maybe my heart for comics, manga, graphic novels, webtoons is shining through and I judge them less harshly I don't know. I read them and I enjoy them and for me 5 stars means that I read it, I very much enjoyed it, and I definitely want to keep reading to see where it goes.

Like always read it and decide for yourself!

I love the anime of Welcome to Demon School, and so I was excited to read volume one of the manga to see how it compares. It has all the charm and humour of the show, and I loved revisiting these early scenes. This is a fast paced story about a human who need to blend into demon society without any knowledge of their world, and his personality and positive attitude easily win over those around him. I'll be looking to continue reading as I wait for the next season!

Devil's Candy meets My Hero Academia in this action-packed, slice-of-life comedy series by Osamu Nishi! Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun is a shounen manga with the perfect blend of isekai and school life.

A natural-born pushover with terrible parents, Iruma Suziki has had it rough and has been taken advantage of since birth. When his greedy parents sell his soul to a demon in exchange for riches, you'd think Iruma's life couldn't get any worse! But, then you meet the demon who bought his soul. An eccentric demon-turned-grandfather, Sullivan actually dotes on young Iruma like he's never experienced before. He even enrolls him in the prestigious demon school, Babyls! The only catch? Iruma must convince everyone in school he's actually a demon... or else they'll eat him!

I can't wait to follow Iruma on his new journey into the Netherworld, where crazy things happen around every corner, testing Iruma's pushover nature to the limits. Will he survive demon school and convince everyone he's not human? Only time will tell in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun.

The artwork is dark and sharp, yet it pulls you in with details. From chapter 1 you're already rooting for Iruma and hoping his new life with Sullivan is a good one. Each chapter brings new adventures and more havoc to Iruma's life, and you can't help falling in love with each character introduced. This series is sure to be enjoyed by readers of all ages!

The story is very interesting as a boy who has lived an unfortunate life and is a big pushover is sold off to a demon by his parents. After this event happens he finally gets to live life making friends and going to school, though he cant let anyone know he is human and even though he wanted to be invisible he is nothing but as events he didn't mean to happen keep happening. The art is very well drawn and brings the story to life. I can't wait to read the rest of the story.

I enjoyed the story and demon schools are always fun. The art could have used a little more refinement and was a bit rough around the edges, sometimes reminding me of Harry Potter, but still a good read. I would continue to read more from this series

At 14, Iruma Suzuki's so-called parents sell him to a demon because they a just greedy a-holes. Fortunately for Iruma this seems to be a better situation then living in the human world.
His lovely demon owner just wants to be a grandpa and Iruma agrees to be his grandchild.

At his new school he makes some eccentric demon friendships and without really trying manages to be successful at his new school.

This has such potential and I will probably read some more volumes of this manga.

Now, the art can be a little bit rough and it could have had more work put into it, and yes, this is kind of a ripoff of Harry Potter but with demons instead of a magical world, but "Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun” is so silly, so fun, and has so many stupid laugh-out-loud moments that I can’t but give it the highest possible mark and recommend it to everyone. Because, what starts as a silly story of a young boy sold by his parents to a demon for money, develops into a super funny and fun story of a young man trying to survive in the demon world, making friends along the way and… Read it, because it is one of the most welcoming surprises I have come across in a while. I hope it keeps the quality throughout its serialization.
