Have kids? Do you pay attention to them when it's convenient for you? Do you care only when it suits you? Do you know your child well enough to spot the signs of pain and abuse?
Devenny shares her experience as a little girl being abused by the male babysitter her mother set up. She writes about the trauma and the after affects. She writes about the effects on future relationships.
I recommend this be read. It is simple, not bogged down with medical jargon. This is real life experience and the pain caused by a selfish parent.
I will gift this.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
And here is my honest review. I'm not judging the author for her issues but this book wasn't really worth reading. If it had been much longer, it would've been a DNF for me. It has potential but badly needs and editor. Plus the ending was abrupt.
A vital book that offers a powerful message about the importance of protecting children from abuse.
