This is a stunning, moving novel that focuses on the idea of immortality.
I love the concept of immortality- just think how many books you could read if you could live forever! But it is often men who can life forever in books or experience other lives. And this is such a clever take on it. We don’t get bogged down in how her forever takes place we just get the snippets of it and how it feels.
Thoroughly recommend this lovely book.
A great romance book, I really enjoyed the tropes and found myself rooting for the couple! Thank you net galley for the review copy!
This book will make you believe in true love if you didn't already. It was a magical, emotional story for the two main characters who you couldn't help but root for.
Unfortunately after multiple attempts to connect with this book I have had to admit defeat and mark as dnf.
I have read several books by Rowan Coleman and I have enjoyed their epic love stories with a touch of magic. Unfortunately, Form Now Until Forever was a bit too magic for me. The story didn't really capture my interest and although I see that it is an original idea, I simply didn't believe it. I did enjoy Coleman's writing and her descriptions of the characters, the art, the city... but it was not enough to keep me hooked to the story.
What a wonderful story this was.
The character of Vita is spectacular and so long as you can suspend your belief of all that is natural, and once you have worked out just what may be going on with her, everything falls into place nicely.
And Ben, what an emotional journey he is on.
And I loved how they came into each others lives just at the right time.
I learnt a lot about Leonardo Da Vinci in this, possibly more than I could ever want to know. In addition to other scientific greats.
It's an excellently written story, and I could picture everything so clearly. Another fabulous book from Rowan Coleman.
Thank you to Hodder & Stoughton and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I loved this beautiful story. Even though I finished it a few weeks ago now it has stayed with me. Just perfect. This author does not disappoint.
I was captivated by this timeless love story from the first page and beyond. Once finished I wasn't prepared to let Ben and Vita go and wanted to reread it immediately.
The dynamic between Ben and Vita made me believe their story, their joy and pain. Blended with history and detailed snapshots of Da Vinci's art and genius this is a book to read, remember and take note of. Time is precious and so is book. It's one for the forever shelf.
The quotes from sundials at the beginning of the chapters were beautiful and captured the essence of this heart warming, heart breaking and uplifting read. A must read for fans of mystery, myth and The Time Traveller:s Wife.
Although I had enjoyed some of Rowan Coleman’s earlier books, I knew nothing about From Now Until Forever before I started reading. I honestly think it was a good thing to go in blind as certain aspects might otherwise have made me hesitate. It is a very unusual book and hard to pigeonhole, with elements of romance, time travel and the supernatural, but it is well written, full of atmosphere, and completely captivating. Some reviewers thought there was too much emphasis on art history, but this was my favourite facet of the story. It was obviously well researched, and basing the narrative around a real Renaissance artist, Leonardo da Vinci, gave it authenticity.
It is told in alternating chapters by the two main characters, Ben and Vita, so we get a rounded picture of what is going on. At the heart of this story is a sense of time running out and living every day as if it is your last, but also how living forever is not necessarily something to covet either. I empathised with the situation both characters found themselves in, and thought the ending was very moving. Reading From Now Until Forever took me on an emotional journey, tugged at my heartstrings, and left me contemplating how much we all take for granted. Thanks to Hodder & Stoughton and NetGalley for a digital copy to review.
This book was very different. Told in separate chapters by Ben and Vita, two very different characters. This is an emotional read, well researched and thought provoking.
A book with substance I would recommend
Thank you to Netgalley, Hodder and Stoughton and Rowan Coleman for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review
I just couldn't get into this one at all. The characters were not interesting and I just didn't enjoy reading about them.
Ben has Marfan syndrome and From Now Until Forever opens with him learning that he has an inoperable brain aneurysm which could burst at any moment.
Rather than go home and have to give this news to his beloved mother and sister he gets on a train to London, running away to live for as long as he can.
In London he meets Vita, a Da Vinci expert and museum curator who has just opened an exhibition of Leonardo's work. There is one painting in the collection which Vita thinks, and hopes, holds a secret which no science has so far been able to uncover.
Ben has developed a lens which may be able to see more detail of the portrait; deeper under and through the layers of paint.
Inevitably Ben and Vita fall in love but can he cope with her secret and can alchemy, love or science save Ben?
Rowan Coleman books always have some supernatural element and this is no exception but at it's heart this is a love story; love between Ben and Vita, Ben and his family (and Pablo the dog) and all the characters that Vita has loved and lost.
There's so much I want to say, and so much I can't because I wouldn't want to spoil a single second for anyone who picks up this most beautiful of books.
I was captivated by the story of Vita and every other character in her orbit. Spell-binding storytelling at its best. This story moved me in a way nothing has for a long time.
Perfection.
It did take me a while to get ‘stuck in’ to this book, but once I did, I loved it. Perfect winter read to snuggle up under a blanket with!
Unfortunately I struggled to connect with this book and DNF’d at the 25% mark. I really struggled to connect with the characters and the story behind how they met and began to form a relationship just didn’t feel authentic to me.
Another good read
Perfect book to curl up with and to get lost in
Will have you hooked from the first page
Thanks NetGalley
Ben is running out of time, Vita hides her past from him. Are they going to be able to fulfil their lives together?
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and of course the author for gifting me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
What an incredible and moving book - it will definitely stay with me for a long time. Full of emotions that have you on your rollercoaster throughout filled with love, heartbreak, tears and cheers. I cannot wait to read more by this author.
Such a great romance book, exactly what I like.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
Delightful time travelling novel.
A deeply moving and magical love story between Ben & Vita - a romance with a twist
Ben only has months to live, so he decides to take a spontaneous trip to London where he meets Vita and a whirlwind romance follows.
It alternates between the two points of view and loved how you saw how both were feeling and so wanted the relationship to work.
It’s more than just a love story, makes you think about life and how much fate has a part to play.
Thanks @rowancoleman @hodderbooks & @netgalley for the eARC
