I think it really says something about Klune’s writing and how he tells a story that, despite finding the actual writing maybe not the best (it does get repetitive, and I swear to god, if I have to hear Ox talking about how his dad said he was going to get shit all his life, I seriously might scream), I’m still extremely invested in the story. I care about the characters and what’s happening with them. Maybe it’s the ridiculously high levels of drama and angst?
I love that this is Gordo's story, as he's probably my favourite character in the series, and despite him coming across as a complete asshole, he's actually really caring for those close to him. He's just been very hurt and he has a hard time getting over that hurt. I liked that this was 100% Gordo's story, but that the overarching story of Green Creek is also still happening, so there is never any let up on the drama, action, and angst. This is PEAK TJ Klune.

Okay so I'm a massive fan of T.J. Klune's House on the Cerulean Sea so I thought I'd really enjoy the Green Creek series but it just didn't mesh with me. I'm so sorry T.J. Klune, I'm actually so disappointed in myself!
What I did enjoy about Ravensong was the Slowburn romance between Gordo and Mark and how we delve into Gordo's past. I thought the fact that the MCs slept with other people was kinda refreshing because I find it's rare in romance for MCs to have other love interests?
I did struggle to get into the story but I think that's a me thing opposed to anything about the book. I'll definitely try more T.J. Klune but I don't think Ravensong or the Green Creek series are for me...

I did start this some time ago, but due to life, I haven't picked it up for so long, and I am now so annoyed with myself that I left it so long ! I just devoured 3/4 of this book in 2 days. This series is beautifully written and action-packed, and I LOVE IT ! I can't wait for Heartsong !
Thank you to Netgalley, Pan Macmillian, and T. J Klune, for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

STUNNING! 😍
Changing the pov and picking up the story from halfway through the first book was a wild concept to me and I’m not sure I was fully invested in the idea… but 2/3 chapters in, it absolutely made sense and honestly a pretty genius idea!
The story picks up where the pack is split into two to find Richard Collins and is told from gordos POV. I loved getting to know more about Gordo, seeing him blossom in his own way and dealing with his own struggles.
Super excited to see where the series leads next!

Oh Gordo... I loved this book. I preferred it to Wolfsong, mainly because I preferred the character arcs in this story in the Green Creek series. I had all the feels and I had goosebumps reading parts of this, I think Klune has written this story perfectly, its such a heart wrenching gutting read that just makes you crave the light at the end of the tunnel, but those in the cart have just accepted their lives for what it is... Not today! We get all the feels and I just felt that this was so grown up in comparison, which is not ironic at all given the age difference in the depicted characters - well written, lovingly read!

Witches! Grumpy men! Werewolves with feelings they refuse to acknowledge! Ravensong has it all. The second installment in the Green Creek series was what hooked me entirely. It only gets better from here, folks.

Such a good read! Block out your weekend so you don’t have to stop! It’s gripping, tense and magical. Just brilliant.

After reading and loving wolfsong I couldn’t wait to get back into the world with Ravensong.
I adore TJ Klune’s writing, it’s just so immersive. These were actually written before his current books and re marketed and I think you can tell his writing has changed slightly.
But I love this series and I can’t wait for the next book!

A beautiful, beautiful story. It is utterly enchanting, and written beautifully. The magic was spectacular, and the book overall had me gripped. It was emotional and so well written.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and of course the author for gifting me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
What an incredible book by an incredible author. I dont think I have ever read a book by this author that I have not liked.
This is the beautiful story of Gordo Livingstone, and is the second in the series (first book was Wolfsong), and really sucks your imagination back into the story again.
I cannot wait to read the 3rd book in the series.

TJ Lune is a wonderful writer and this title is just as good one would expect. A fantastic sequel to Wolfsong.

I really enjoyed this sequel to Wolfsong - I loved the character growth that we saw though I found the story a little slow to get going

Ravensong was different to other werewolf stories I have read. You got a atring sense offamily and pack abd the complexities of their relationships. There was also politics of wolves thrown in.
I enjoyed the story and writing style but at times it felt abit too long, repetitive and drawn out. I would be interested in reading more books in the series and finding out how their stories end.

A story that truly tugs at your heartstrings. I really appreciated how it began covering the events in Wolfsong from Gordo's perspective, filling in some of the missing pieces of the jigsaw. Summed up, Ravensong is powerful and raw, full of anger, love, yearning, pain and family. Can't wait to read the next books.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
T.J. Klune is fast becoming one of my 'must-buy' authors. His writing is always so nuanced, and this book is no exception. Switching perspectives from Ox to Gordo, we get a whole different side to some of the narrative of Wolfsong, which at first feels a little repetitive but it really pays off. And boy can he write a good love story. Every character is fully realised and the narrative pulls you in. I can't wait to read the conclusion.

I really enjoyed this book the writing was excellent. The only issues I had with it was the pacing I felt it was a very slow build as we go over events from the first book from another characters perspective. The characters were really well developed and I enjoyed reading from another perspective.

What a delight to return to Green Creek and back into the lives of the Bennett pack. This second in the series gives the reader more insight into the history and life of Gordo Livingstone, both before and after he joins the pack as a witch to the Bennett family and his relationship with Mark. Picking up from the previous novel, this is not a standalone book. A book of friendship and lovers, loyalty and betrayal, but also of the bonds of family. I can’t wait to read the next in the series, many thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC of this novel, in return for an honest review

This is the second book in Green Creek series. It includes the found family trope - which was executed brilliant. I just absolutely adore T J Klunes writing style.

My favourite thing about TJ Klune books is shaping up to be the humour, I think - his books are so funny, and Ravensong is no exception, I was giggling at so many scenes throughout this, and I loved how the humour balanced out the heaviness of the story. Of course the found family aspect of this book is immaculate just as it was in the first book, and I also loved getting to know more of the history of the pack and of the Livingstones.
There is a lot happening in the plot, almost to the point where there was too much going on - I did start to get a bit confused and lost around the middle of the book, just baffled by everything that was happening and the more involved magic system, but I think the ending brought everything together nicely, with of course a triple dose of angst.
Werewolves aren't typically a fantasy element that I would choose to read about, but I do like the way TJ Klune portrays the magic system of wolves (or "mystical moon magic", as it's referred to in this book), and I love the bonds between everyone.

Following on from events in WolfSong, this gives Gordo's story. The novel has a slight overlap with the events in Wolf Song, then carries on from there.
It's nice to revisit the characters, but always difficult carrying on in another character's voice - I dont know that this was done effectcively, as a lot of the tone was similar to the delivery of Oxnard's POV. Always hard I guess when the same author is trying to write two POVs - I don't know that this was effectively achieved, and as I was really enjoying Oxnard as a character, I also didn't find Gordo quite as beguiling.
Also I know this is an unedited copy, but the pace was considerably slower and could probably have done with losing quite a lot of words without inpacting the story. Considerably slower than WolfSong.
It's a 4 book series though, so I'm interested enough to keep reading - there was definitely a stand out moment in here though when I went 'Yeahhhhh, That's what I'm talking about!'. Which made it all worth it actually. Just a bit slow and rambly. Upshot - needs an edit. But I also loved Oxnard's POV so much I'm not sure any of the others will compete....
