Wow, what a read this was. Moran introduces us to the wonderful Henderson family and friends and I adored each one of their stories. The characters are so likeable and realistic. The plot is funny, sad and at times quite dark. This had everything and I loved every word.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an advance copy.

A really enjoyable read that I devoured in a few sittings! The characters were likeable and felt really real. I loved the humour that was infused throughout even though there were some seriously dark topics discussed. Would definitely recommend to others and would like to read more by Beth Moran.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 (changed mind it is definitely a 4 star rating story)

I enjoyed "We are Family". I found the storyline ok but why do the women in books always go home to their parents when they can't make ends meet after the death of a husband. Ruth has 3 older sisters that she could have lived with one of them. Don't get me wrong I liked the story but I find it hard to keep seeing the same scenario in books like this.

The writing was good and it kept my interest most of the time. I liked the story line between Ruth and David...a childhood friendship to possibly a new love. But then there is the doctor...he really gave me the creeps, the author did a wonderful job with the character. For me to actually get creeped out by him you know the author put a lot of thought into him.

I really found myself cheering Ruth and David on a, hoping Maggie would finally come to her senses and let her mother have a life outside of taking care of her. The more I think about it the story does deserve a 4 star rating.

Ruth’s life has taken a turn for the worse and sent her and her teenage daughter back to the childhood home she vowed never to return too. Her partner had died leaving her with debts she knew nothing about and a heartbroken daughter. Her return home is rocky at first, old wounds need to be heeled but along the way Ruth finds family, friends and herself again. Added to all her troubles is a man who doesn’t know how to accept no and a man who broke her young heart. I loved how her family and friends rallied around her during this time and how even with all she had going on, she was there for them too. There was also family drama going on with her parents and daughter and when her first love wants back in to her life, she doesn’t think she can let him in. I loved how broken but strong so many of the characters were and the community feel to the story. Ruth and David finally getting to work their way back to each other was the icing on the cake of this beautiful, sad, scary and loving story.

Oh Beth, you've done it again, another wonderful story with marvellous characters that flow from the page in a never ending delight. I love all your stories especially because they are set in my local area, more please!

I liked it a lot! The plot has a rich tapestry of all the different storylines wowen into one. They show different topics, but you can relate to most of them. (To be totally honest I could have gladly omitted the Dr Carl storyline, but the others I found interesting). The characters are really loveable and the community makes you wish you were part of it.
I was not always happy with the main character's decisions and choices, but as the story has a happy ending, I cannot complain.
This was not the first book by the author I had read, but definitely not the last one!

Another great read from Beth Moran.

Ruth and her daughter Maggie have had their lives in Liverpool shattered when Ruth’s partner is killed in a car accident. As if this wasn’t bad enough, Ruth then discovers a mountain of debt and no insurance. Ruth has no choice but to move her and Maggie back to Ruth’s family home near Nottingham.

Ruth’s life changing decision means that a lot of memories are evolved; friendships and family relations are renewed and made anew; lots of dancing ensues and even an unrequited love affair is revealed. There’s also some deeper storylines present in this book, which made it a more multi faceted read for me.

I’ve really enjoyed several of Beth’s books and this was no exception.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review.

This is described as a feel-good read, but with the sinister stalking plotline, this is not a light read. There are a lot of issues, heavy issues, including grief, and as a result I don't think enough time is given to the main romance. I really felt for David, who never did anything wrong. I would have liked to have heard more from Ruth's father, who wasn't the most likeable of characters given how he treated his teenage daughter, ignoring his granddaughter for years, and how he treated his wife. This might sound as though I didn't enjoy this book, but I did, I really did, just sharing my thoughts on a few things. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another beautifully written book by this author, I cried (a lot) I laughed and I thoroughly enjoyed this lovely story of strong women doing their best not to be beaten down by life. The stalker aspect of the story added another unexpected dimension. Overall I book I’d recommend to anyone wanting an easy feel-good read

A really good read. When Ruth's partner dies leaving her in debt she has no other option than return home to live with her parents and as she and her teenage daughter Maggie who is struggling with behaviour problems as well try to turn their lives around they have some very difficult choices to make. A lovely story with so many different and interesting characters this will be a must read for fans of this author and I enjoyed it

Ruth Henderson has felt like the black sheep of the family almost her entire life. Brought up in a family of ballroom dancers, the youngest of four daughters she was the one with two left feet (comparatively). Pregnant by accident after a drunken one-night stand she has made the best of things with her daughter Maggie's father, until his sudden death in a car accident uncovers a mountain of debt and no life insurance. After struggling for two years to make ends meet Ruth knows the only solution is to swallow her pride and move back in with her parents.

At first Ruth is inclined to wallow in grief, anger, and self-pity, until her busy-body mother gets her a part-time job at a local boutique run by Ruth's school nemesis. While the blows keep coming, Maggie is in trouble at school, Ruth's parents appear to be on the verge of splitting up, more debt is uncovered, Ruth gets reacquainted with the school bully 'Meat' Harris and probably her only girl friend from school Lois Finch - and they are married!

Slowly Ruth and Maggie begin to create a life for themselves, centred around the big, happy church that Ruth's parents belong to. But is there a chance for romance for Ruth with Carl the dishy doctor, son of one of the centre's clients, or can she revive her relationship with David, her one true love and now a TV wildlife documentary star?

Isn't it funny, I complain about writers throwing the kitchen sink of issues into a book, overshadowing the relationships and yet this book, which has practically everything you could care to throw at a plot, manages to keep the reader engaged and rooting for Ruth throughout. Her family are just the right side of irritating. Maggie is rebellious, but only because she is hurting. Yes, the story revolves around the church community but it is such a joyful, friendly place even I, an atheist, wanted to join.

Wonderful, feel-good, small-town, English romance. Loved it.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I am a fan of Beth Moran so I was keen to read this. I was rooting for the main character as the story of a single mum fighting to regain security for both her and her daughter developed eventually leading to her reuniting with her first love. I loved the camaraderie of her group of female friends who always look out for one another. This is described as a 'feel good read' but there is a deeper and darker storyline of stalking which, at times, was incredibly disturbing (particularly the violent scenes) so I would be hesitant to recommend it as a 'feel good read'.

I absolutely love Beth Moran's books, and this one was no exception. Her style of writing and her plotlines just connect with me. I stayed up till 4am reading this one - I think that's the first time I've done that since the last Beth Moran book I read!

This one follows Ruth, who is forced to move back to her parents' with her daughter Maggie, years after vowing to get out of her childhood home. When Ruth arrives there, she's lonely, and very low on confidence. It soon becomes clear though that whatever issues they had previously, her family love her and are determined to help her through. This, coupled with making a strong group of friends, helps her find herself again. And when her childhood sweetheart arrives back home, could she be given another chance at happiness?

This was such a beautiful read, and it had everything I personally enjoy in a book. I love the way the author puts a lot of focus on family and friendships, as well as the romance. She also manages to develop all the secondary characters very well so that I end up really wanting them to be happy too!

I really loved this - highly recommended!

Thank you so much to Beth Moran, Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the arc.

Exquisite writing with so much heart and a complete knack for capturing intergenerational friendships and life-affirming situations. I couldn't get enough of Ruth and Maggie's journey to happiness, and loved reading the lives of those surrounding them along the way

Another great book by Beth Moran. Beth has a style of writing that really brings the characters to life and makes you care about their lives and destinies. Sad in parts and laugh out loud funny in others. A truly excellent read.

I did enjoy this book "We Are Family". It was a good rom-com read. Lots of love for family, friends and getting beyond what hurts a person. GREAT parents as well. There were parts I wanted to shed a tear. But, I did laugh many times.. Grab this one and find hope in the good.

This was an overall warm-hearted read but with a lot of emotion and some challenging themes within. After a challenging eighteen months, struggling with both grief and unexpected debt after the death of her long term partner, Ruth returns to her childhood home along with her daughter Maggie. It was great to see how Ruth coped with being back with her parents after so many years away especially as she had been estranged from her father, not to mention reacquainting herself with former school mates who, along with some newer residents to the area, added so much character to the story. There are multiple stories running through this involving many of the characters which are skilfully woven together however Ruth’s own story is the most hardest hitting. This is very much a character read with many ups and downs but with plenty of humour throughout too making it a very thoughtful but ultimately uplifting read.
