Having not read anything by this author before I dint really know what to expect. The blurb sounded interesting so I thought I’d give it a go.

It didn’t take me long to get invested in the storyline, wanting to read and find out more when I could. The characters were believable although I did think one of them was very naive but I suspect due to grief wasn’t able to see what was happening in front of her.

I really enjoyed reading this, although I thought I had it all worked out correctly I must admit, I had to read the last few lines two or three times before they truly sunk in.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest review.

A brilliant book from one of my favourite authors, I have read all his books and never been disappointed. The storyline was a twisty read with good characters that kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning until the end and what an ending it was.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this brilliant ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

I was so excited when The Bride landed in my inbox. A new book from one of my firm favourites author's and what a read. A real psychological thriller with a dark side. Creepy with undertones of something much darker. At times I had goosebumps on my goosebumps. I found this book impossible to put down, hence I finally turned the last page at 1am. Yes this book is that good. Well written, gripping, full of tension and suspense. This author has done it again!!!! Go to bed early and read this book, I promise that you will not be disappointed. Another must read from this very talented author!!!!!!
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

The truth is that I loved James with my whole heart. We were soulmates: meant to be together forever. On the morning of our wedding, I had just found out I was carrying his child.
But it’s time to tell my side of the story. It’s time everyone knew what happened on that wedding day, on our honeymoon, and on that fateful last drive together. It’s time everyone found out about the secrets and about the threat that loomed over our marriage. It’s time everyone found out who really killed James.

This is the first book I have read from this author, I will admit I have looked at others but some of the subject matter put me off. When I saw this I decided to give it a go as John Nicholl seems to have quite a following and I now do have to say that after reading this book I will be definitely be looking at others.

Daisy is completely in love with James and feels she has found her life partner, she marries him and then finds out she is pregnant with his baby. She waits until she thinks she has the perfect setting to tell James while they are on their honeymoon. Daisy has some concerns about what James's reaction my be, is he really excited about the news?

Then the unthinkable happens and James dies leaving Daisy on her own. Enter Oliver who was a previous friend of James and who is now trying to help Daisy recover after James's death. Daisy is aware that James may not have considered James a great friend anymore as they had a falling out that saw him not invited to the wedding, even though he decides to go anyway. But does Oliver have his own agenda, and what really are his reasons behind building a relationship with Daisy?

The truth will come out soon enough and this is an eyeopener for both Daisy and the reader. The book moves along at a great pace and I was thoroughly engaged throughout the whole book. Quality writing that sets the scenes with a lot of suspence, I would definitely recommend this one to others. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions are my own.

So this turned out to be a dark and twisted story. Told from the pov of Daisy and written in the first person it gave this story an edge right from the start. A guessing game for the first half of the book then you think you have it all worked out only to be thwarted with a clever ending. This is a well written story that I found hard to put down - my first by this author but it won’t be my last!

The Bride follows Daisy, who’s on trial for murder. Daisy has lived a wonderful life with a beautiful family and a loving husband. But when the police arrested her on suspicion of murder, she must now prove her innocence, if not for herself, for her baby at least…

I enjoyed this immensely.. it started with such an intense and mysterious vibe. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, the story beautifully flowed keeping the creepiness and mystery intact.

The way Daisy is on trial for murder was put out there for us at the start and not disclosed till the end was amazing. I was soo intrigued to know 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸, why was she arrested, and who was murdered.

I mean, it was soo mysterious till the end and I loove it. But during the mid, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 and I was very bored with the ramblings of Daisy🥱As the end approached, things picked up the pace and it was veryy eventful.. things kept happening and I was again captivated by it all 👀

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴…𝗢𝗠𝗚!! I thought I had predicted the ending and was disappointed for a minute.. but when that twist happened at the last minute, I was amazed👏🏼 I feel like everything was worth it just to get to know what happened in the end.. to know how the mystery was solved, all my questions were answered. I enjoyed this book a lot!

Overall, an incredible mystery/suspense with short captivating chapters. Despite the dragged plot around the mid, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 and gives you a tremendous ending full of twists and turns that you won't be able to predict!!

Thanks to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and author John Nicholl for the e-copy in exchange for an honest review. This book will be published on 28th June 2023.

Daisy gets married and goes on honeymoon, she found out on her wedding day that she was pregnant and shares this with her husband James on their honeymoon. On the way home from the airport they stop for a break at a service station. Daisy goes into the service station to get coffee while James gets some fresh air for a headache and says he will meet her in there. He never appears he just disappears. She has to get her Dad to come and get her as James had the car keys and the spare set are at home. The police are called and the search for James starts.

The book starts with Daisy in court charged with murder and she tells her story so that if she goes to jail she can let her unborn child know the truth.

Lots of twists in this story and it keeps you gripped until the end. I have read a few of this author’s books before but it is usually told a different way where we know the killer, this was a whodunnit where we find out as the story is told.

The Bride by John Nicholl is my first read from this author and, if this latest is at all indicative of his previous work, I cannot wait to add every other title to my TBR.

Daisy is madly in love with James, and her happiness is doubled when she learns on the morning of her wedding that she is pregnant. A surprise honeymoon in Lanzarote is the icing on the cake, and Daisy and James return anxious to settle into their new life together. But fate has other plans in store, as a tragedy will upend Daisy's life in ways that she never could have imagined, and she suddenly finds herself on trial for murder. How did she end up in such a dark place when only days before the future was so bright?

I loved this pacey, suspenseful read from beginning to end, and was completely blown away by the twists and turns contained within Daisy's narrative. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC.

When Daisy saw James for the first time unlike other school boys in Wales she felt something different he was a new transplant from London and now it’s 10 years later and Daisy couldn’t be happier she had the most perfect wedding and when she woke up the next morning expecting to go on a honeymoon two hours away James surprises her with an Italian trip. She thought everything was going to be perfect especially with the happy news she couldn’t wait to tell him while in the little town in Italy however James tells her one of their school friends Oliver is also in the town she tries to pass it off as a coincidence that James is having none of it especially after he tells her the nasty unkind things he said about Daisy. by the time they got back home however he was forgotten about and when they stop to get gas and snacks Daisy said she would meet him in the café but James never showed up and when she went to look for him all she found was his mast cell phone. For the rest of the book Daisy tells her side of events James is missing and she’s on trial for murder rod who is murder? This book was so good and I don’t want to say who is murder she is on trial for because I didn’t know and it made the book so much better just like most of the authors books this book is intense it has twist but the biggest twist is one I cannot talk about but OMG this book is so good and if you love good thrillers then you’ll love The Bride By John Micholl anyone familiar with his books knows it’s going to be good and this one is truly a solid read! I received this book from NetGalley and Boldwood Books but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

If you like a good physcological thriller then simply do not miss this one. It is a rollercoaster of a ride and makes you feel very unnervy all the way through. Very well written, lots of twists and turns, and the ending is great.

The hairs on the back of my neck are still up!
This has a dark side, a creepy undertone that makes your skin quiver like spiders running all over you as you get deeper and deeper into the web this author weaves for its readers.

I was well and truly hooked by the blurb, that’s only have of its attraction my friends, once you open those pages you will be lost in this plot.

James is dead.
Now she’s left with grief and an unborn child.
She loved James so much.

Who killed him.
Why.

We know how he was killed.

It was an intense read and I figured out one thing, one person but oh no the reason or connection (if there really was one or not).

My attention was on the loss. Her James.

And the twist had my mouth dropping and rereading twice, yes twice those final few lines.

John Nicholl is a prolific writer and gets me hooked every time.

This book, oh my god. What a twist at the end! Great style of writing and I can not wait to read more books by this author. Did not disappoint

The Bride by John Nicholl is a good psychological suspense thriller with some dark undertones. It was a creepy story, and I felt something sinister lurking in the background throughout the story.

The Bride was a quick read with a jaw-dropping ending. It was slow in some places, but the plot was good. The characters were well-written, intriguing, and believable. And the plot made sense.

The story shines a light on an imperfect justice system that sometimes gets things wrong. I rate this a 3.75 out of 5 stars (rounded to 4). I would recommend this book. Good plot, good characters, and an interesting story.

The ending definitely redeems this whole book. It's a bit of a slow burn but I loved the premise and was determined to find out just what exactly had gone on. It is a really quick and easy read, there's a few twists but yeah, the ending had my jaw on the floor. Really enjoyable

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my opinion.

Daisy and James are high school sweethearts, deeply in love when they marry young. On the day of their wedding Daisy finds out she’s expecting, and shares the news with James on their honeymoon. Their honeymoon is idyllic, but on their way home things go awry. Stopping at a rest station before arriving at home, Daisy uses the restroom and James disappears; never to be seen again. As the police investigate his disappearance and ultimately his murder, Daisy struggles to move on with her life. When Oliver, an old friend of theirs from college starts popping up, Daisy strikes up her friendship with him again and leans on him for support. But is Oliver really a friend? Does he have an ulterior motive for showing back up? And how well of friends were he and James after all?

This was a quick and suspenseful read, but to be honest I didn’t enjoy it much. Daisy was a hard character to like, as she continued making questionable decisions. I will say the double twists at the end, I did not see coming
