The Classics Department at any university used to be the cornerstone of higher learning. Nowadays, it is finding itself evolving and expanding its focus to include ancient Mediterranean civilizations to attract more student interest. Change never comes easy as Professor Tig (Antigone) Weston is discovering being Head of the Classics Department. Opposing opinions and heated arguments have turned the department into a powder keg. Tig discovers one of her professors murdered and her life becomes embroiled with the campus police force and especially the beautiful and engaging Sergeant Adriana Kent.
This is book two of the University Police series. The series is more than a cozy mystery and less complicated than a Christie novel. Romance is the theme with murder bringing the main characters together. The books should be read in order for greater understanding.
Walsh delivers an entertaining novel with her core of slightly odd university characters. The familiar faces from ‘With A Minor in Murder’ are the supporting cast to Tig and Kent as they find a pathway to each other.

This is probably one of my favorite books I’ve read this year! I love the characters and their relationships. I also love the location. I grew up in the Seattle area so reading about the neighborhoods is so nostalgic for me! I loved the first one in this series and I loved this one more! I definitely recommend this book to everyone! Tig and Kent are such a great couple! I can’t wait to read the next one…
A follow up to “With a Minor in Murder”. Has the same main characters in it just a different romantic couple. This is just as entertaining and enjoyable. It is good to see how the romance and interaction of the various characters progresses and grows.
I really enjoyed this. I liked the plot and the continuation of the characters from the first book. I honestly didn’t realize this was series-ish when I started reading this, and thought there was going to be like 3-4 POVs at first. Eventually that feeling sorted itself out and I was able to hash out who the main characters were. I enjoyed both characters, and appreciated the honestly they had with one another. The banter between characters was great too. The mystery aspect was decent. I was trying to guess who had done it until a pivotal clue near the end. I would have liked to have seen more development regarding catching the perpetrator, so the ending did feel a bit rushed to me. Overall, good read with a decent mystery. I’d recommend it.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.
Tig is very passionate about her work in the classics department and excited about expanding the course. She gets in the middle of two professors who comes to blows one who supports expanding the classics department and the other is not. She gets a surprise when she finds Professor Chase dead and she windup helping Sergeant Kent and Clare with the case because they find things that Tig may can help with and it’s get more complicated when another professor is killed. Tig and Kent develop a attraction to each other but although they know it’s might not last because Tig may have to find a new job elsewhere because she fears the boards will shut down the classics department because of this. I enjoy this read I like that Clare and Libby were the supporting characters to Tig and Kent. Can’t wait for next book I can see this on hallmark channel.
