Laura Krantz’s Is Anybody Out There is a fantastic exploration of all things extra-terrestrial. Laura tackles some of the biggest and most mysterious questions about outer space and alien life in an engaging and accessible way for younger readers - and introduces them to the science, technology, and critical thinking needed to try to find answers.

There’s an impressive range of topics squeezed into this book, from classics like Roswell and ancient aliens to the Pan-STARRS telescope and Oumuamua. The engaging writing style is matched by an array of playful illustrations as well as astronomical photographs, which really bring the wide range of scientific and cultural beliefs to life. There’s also plenty of useful features for supporting children to read it independently, like help with pronunciation for tricky terms and a clear glossary. This is such an enjoyable read - and an especially innovative way to teach information literacy skills to children while showing that STEM is anything but dull!
