If only my bad days ended like this one! What a delightful read for young and old. It serves as a reminder that if we strive to look for the good in things, that very bad day may turn out to be better than we ever imagined it could be.
Any child who has woken up grumpy will enjoy this book and, especially, its illustrations. How does a bad day get better? Turn the pages to find out in this cute title.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.
So angry but so cute! This book is about emotions, especially anger. After waking up on the wrong side of the bed, our narrator, an adorable bunny, has the worst day ever! Except it's not that bad, readers will see all the good things that happen throughout the day. As a children's librarian, I can not wait to read this to my story time groups. The adults and the kids will enjoy the adorable artwork and the clever storytelling.
Sometimes we wake up hang a bad day, and the smallest cloud in the sky makes it day warm gloomy abd just one chocolate chip less in our cookie is cruel and unjust. That's the type of day the main character in this book is having.
I give this book to be a bit too simplistic in writing and in illustrations. The illustrations though I can get on board with, but the writing fell flat for me in terms on captivating my attention. It needed some humor, some zing, something more to give it character.
This is a cute little book with adorable artwork, which quickly got my attention. As an elementary school counselor, the title also attracted me as something that I might be interested in sharing with my younger students as part of my classroom lessons. I love the idea that it can feel like we are having a horrible day with all the little annoying details that pop up, but these things can quickly turn around when something good happens, or someone shows us kindness. I already have a couple students in mind who might learn something from this story. My only criticism is when the main character is asked about their day at the end of the book, the character still phrases the positive ending in a slightly negative way. I think the word choice of putting "best" and "bad" together in the end takes a little bit away from the wonderful message. It could be even better if they reframed the character's new perspective on the day in a more positive way (e.g., they forgot all their annoyances and only focused on what was wonderful). However, it is worth nothing I do think the word choice works great for the title.
This was very very cute. Making the best of a bad day with a friend and adding a new perspective to your day. The illustrations were absolutely adorable, I loved all of the classmates (especially the little octopus!!!) but I don't know what animal the main character was, but he was cute. I honestly love when the main character has a stuffy with them and brings it throughout the story, reminds me of me and my stuffies! This was such a cute bad day book and it made me happy. However the not enough chocolate chips in a cookie hits too close to home, I would be grumpy too.
In this children's book, the main character (a rabbit??) is having a very bad day, and nothing goes his way or pleases him, but he will bond with another grumpy classmate and finally find the silver lining.
Based on the multiple great reviews, this book obviously found a positive echo, but I guess I didn't see the appeal. The illustrations weren't very polished (too simplistic and raw), and substance-wise, the idea of turning a bad day around, other books did it better (like Joy! by Gina Prosch) I recently reviewed.
Due to this timing, I suppose the comparison probably weren't in favor of me finding this book by Marianna Coppo as good, unfortunately.
This was relatable. It conveys the sweet message that even though we occasionally wake up feeling grumpy and worrying that the day will be awful, there is always something positive to look forward to, such as supporting friends. The illustrations are minimalist, but still cute.

I read this for free thanks to netgalley in exchange for my honest feedback. This kids book would be an excellent addition to my classroom library. It teaches the excellent lesson that everything isn't as bad as you think it is. Sometimes being in a bad mood makes things seem bad and if you can turn your feelings around, you can see the world with different eyes.
Sometimes our grumpiness can put a real damper to our mood. It’s not a pleasant feeling but we all go through it. We will prevail!
In this book, it’s a cute little bear versus the world… until it isn’t. Things start to look up when the bear realizes he’s not alone in that feeling — it’s a friendship book!!
When I read the blurb of this picture book, I knew right away that my grumpy 5-year-old must have this. And indeed, she loved it. :) The animals are super cute and my daughter could easily relate to the situations in the kindergarten. This could be a real eye opener even for adults - especially the part with the half-empty glass of milk.

Ok, this book was seriously fun. You ever have those days that just feel off right from the get-go and whatever happens, nothing makes it better? That is what this book is about and I loved it. I loved it not only for myself right now but for myself the child who definitely needed this. This feels like one of the important elements of life that kids aren't shown because the big emotions that humans experience are sometimes hard to share. Also, the conclusion was just beautiful. I also loved the art so much. It was giving Night in the Woods which is a game whose art I love and really need to finish. Definitely pickup for any child in your life and maybe even yourself to remind you that Bad Days are ok.
This storybook follows Wolfie, a little Lone Wolf who’s having a very bad day until he meets Penguin, It’s amazing how finding a friend who understands you can change your perspective. This cute story definitely made me smile.
This is a simple and cute book that is easy for younger kids to understand. Poor Wolfie is having such a bad day, but time with a friend makes it into the best day ever.
Reading level wise, this book is fairly easy for young readers. My second grader read through it with ease. She likes the pictures the best since she thought the characters looked cute and cuddly.

This is a cute story about an animal that can’t seem to find anything positive about their day. Many young readers will relate to these feelings. The cute illustrations and short text is accessible for even the youngest listeners. Best suited for preschoolers or younger.
The illustrations are cute. This book has minimal words and not much depth. I was unsure what the moral was.
Oh this was so lovely. We all have those days where we wake up and just aren't feeling it - so it's nice to see an honest toddler book that shows we sometimes start grumpy, and we have our friends to help us feel better. I loved the illustrations and the fun factor throughout
I couldn't help but smile all the way through reading this with my little niece tonight.
The Best Bad Day Ever has a really good message. Sometimes we are going to feel grumpy and like things are not going right, but there is always something good in the day. I think it is very relatable to children and adults reading their story to the children. I especially enjoyed when the bear seems to think everyone else is having a great day and it appears so in the illustration, however on the next couple of pages it shows that everything is not as it seems for everyone else. Very enjoyable. Would recommend.
This children's book is about a little wolf who is having a bad day. Everything seems to be going wrong, and nothing can be fixed. But in the midst of their bad day, they make a friend who was also having a bad day. They are able to turn the day around and it ends up being the best day.
I think the message in this story is great - even when things seem bad and lonely, they can always be turned around. I found it very relatable personally, I've had days where everything seems to be going wrong, but a smile from a stranger has lightened my mood completely. It's also very relatable to children, in the way that sometimes a friend can be exactly what is needed to help brighten your day. The illustrations in this book were cute and eye-catching as well. I read this book to my 4-year-old who was engaged and loved the story.

Super cute book and the pictures are adorable. The book reminds me of Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day, but with a positive twist. The book itself reminds me of my youngest child and I’ll definitely be using this one with her.
