This book made me smile. I enjoyed grumpy Wolfie together with the very simple illustrations. I like the message of the book: everyone is grumpy sometimes, but friends can make everything feel better.

We follow him through the school day until he meets a penguin whose mood matches his. They decide to play together for the rest of the day, and readers see how this changes their attitudes. Love the message of seeking ways to change emotions and choosing to find ways to make grouchy days better. Great read aloud for families and classrooms.

The Best Bad Day Ever. This book was cute! It’s always so easy to forget that a child may see things in a different perspective or not fully access and comprehend their surroundings, especially when they have their own BIG feelings. And sometimes a friend, especially one that understands, can make all the difference. I found myself smiling throughout this entire book. Very cute.

“At snack time, I get a pear. I do not like pears.
But I love apples.”

This was so sweet! The story follows Wolfie, who wakes up in a bad mood that makes everything she sees and interacts with throughout her day negative as well. Then she interacts with Penguin at school, who is also in a miserable mood, and together they make each other’s day a positive one. This book explains the loneliness of misery, and how letting someone in can really brighten your day. The illustrations were adorable and colourful, and I think young readers would love the grumpy expressions!

You may think this is just a children’s book, but don’t be so quick to judge a book by it’s cover. This one is for the adults too. Some days you just wake up on the wrong foot…and that’s okay. And some days nothing seems to go right and it seems like nobody can relate. But there is always someone out there that is feeling the same. And sometimes— that little bit of information is just the comfort you need. 🩵

This is about a kid who constantly has bad days because they are different. By the end of the book, they find a friend who is different like them and it makes them happy.

My daughter and I absolutely loved this book!! We both related to it so well. My daughter is neurodivergent and not everyday is a good day. It’s hard for her to relate to other kids a lot of the time. It’s easier for her to relate to other kids like her. At the end, she pointed to the penguin and said “that’s Layla”. Layla is her friend who also has autism and Layla does a great job at getting my daughter in a better mood.

Such a cute message for kids who are unlike the rest. The illustrations were so cute. Cute and simple.

This was such a cute book. It’s perfect for toddlers learning to try to process their emotions. I loved that it shows how you can feel alone and that no one understands your feelings but that if you pay attention you can see that others are feeling that way too. I also loved that the illustrations are simple and adorable. My son had already had me read this to him several times.

I read this book to Izzy. She loved how it was the best bad day ever and not just a typical bad day. She also liked how the story ends on a happy note with a friend being made and a day getting better. She says the illustrations are beautiful and perfect for the story. Izzy thinks this book is a nice story for children her age or younger.

This was so adorable. The pictures were just about the cutest illustrations I have ever seen. I feel like this is a wonderful book to explain grumpy moods to small children. The pictures show that their perspective is what is making them think everyone else is happy.

I love children's books that help children process their emotions. This book is simple enough for children to understand that sometimes you're going to have bad days, but it doesn't mean that everything is going to be bad about the day.

This is exactly what I have been searching for and will definitely buy it when it is out. I have this kid in my class that is always seeing the worst in everything and everyone. This will work beautifully as a gift for him.

It is a story about how we see things and how friendship can make everything better.

I love this cute little book for children.

It‘s so simple but i think for kids it‘s quite right. They can learn that worse things can be better with someone who understand you und feel the same feelings as you do.

I also think that adults can also learn this point from the book. Them sometimes when you get older you think you‘re the only person who fells that worse, but it‘s wrong. You‘ll always find someone who feels the same way as you and then maybe the sun will shine a little.

This was a good book about emotions. We all have bad days and this book shows children how to recognize it and work through it.

I definitely recommend this one especially for ages 8 or younger.

It is an easy book for early readers too.

Does your toddler / youngster ever get mad at literally nothing? We’ve been having some of those days in our home lately. My husband and I cackled as I read this book.

This book is from the child’s perspective and goes over their awful day:
- too cloudy (one cloud in the sky)
- too few chocolate chips in the cookies
- ice cold bath water
- gets found first at school hide-n-seek.

Not to give away the ending, but spending the school afternoon with a dear friend turns the day around. A hilarious book, but I wonder if it’s more for the parents than the children.. Either way, I intend to buy a print copy and read it to my daughter when she has the sullens.

Our poor little bear friend woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Everything is wrong. They don’t want to do anything. Nothing is going how they want it to. But then they meet penguin friend, who is also grumpy and having a bad day. They bond over having the worst day ever but then having a friend to see them the ought makes it the best worst day ever ^.^

We all know that feeling when we wake up on the wrong side of the bed and just *know* it’s going to be a bad day. Nothing goes right, everything that can go wrong does, and this book perfectly captures in minimal words the feeling of a bad day.
I hope that this book will eventually be found in classrooms because it shows how one small moment, one interaction, and one friend can turn a frown upside down and make a very bad day into “the best bad day ever”! I wish that there were books like this that helped me to become more in tact with my emotions when I was in elementary school!

This was an absolute delight to read. The art style was absolute adorable and will have any child completely mesmerised. I loved the message of the story, showing children that having somebody who understands what you’re going through can make the bad things seem a lot less lonely.

I loved that by the end of the story, our main character, Wolfie, changes their perspective completely because they have a friend who feels the same as them which makes the bad things seem a lot more manageable.

I hope that so many children are able to read this and feel seen and understood, making their bad days seem even just a little brighter.

I had the best time reading this and all of the toddler animals are just so cute. I especially loved the caterpillar and their butterfly parent, I thought that was so cute!
