"Rarely has a political party wielded so much power, for so long, with so little accountability."
Tory Nation was a fascinating - and alarming - study of the various reasons why the Conservative Party, in all its various guises, ideologies - or lack of them - and contradictions, has held such hegemony in the UK. An eye-opening, and hard to argue with, account of the ways in which the odds have traditionally been stacked in their favour.
I just finished reading 'Tory Nation: How one party took over' and wow - what an eye opening read it was! This book truly breaks down the British political system and how democracy and equality are being challenged by the Tories. It's an essential read for anyone who wants to understand British politics and the need for change.
