Princess Fuzzypants here: What a great idea to tell the story of the Trojan Horse, Ulysses of Greek mythology and the Odyssey with kitties in modern day. It changes the story to fit the change of characters and setting but it is clearly what was intended. The artwork does a great job with an adorable cat telling his story after a little girl finds him, exhausted and scruffy, sleeping on her door stoop.
It is all done in rhyme which I am sure would be easy for children to follow. I am not sure what it was about the rhyme that did not quite work for me but I can see how it would for someone else. I wanted to like it more. I did like it. Just not as much as I had expected I would.
Four purrs and one paw up.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the first line of this book and everything went down hill from there. I felt like the author was trying too hard to make the story rhyme. It just got awkward. The pictures weren't that appealing but were bright. I figured they could have had a different style that is more appealing to kids.
The Story of Ulysses Cat is a children's version of Homer's Odyssey. It was a cute tale, I really loved the interpretation of the Trojan Horse and the Cyclops. Cute illustrations. I would maybe change the font to be more exciting and readable.
on Page 38, it says a little girl picks up the cat and "His cat was finally back" it should say her.
