A traditional enemies to lovers romance. Grayson and Ash have always been taught to hate each other but they now have to work together on a business project. Ash is also a carer for her sister, Niamh.
There is lots of chemistry and sex between the pair, whilst at the same time he claims they can only be a ons then he wants more. I prefer books written in the third not the first person, especially when it is only written from Ash’s point of view. The reader doesn’t get to read/ understand Grayson in the same way, Rather disappointing as the book itself is well written.
One night in my rival's bed, will keep you reading until the end and then wanting more.
It's romantic, seductive, erotic and sensual along with a good family story base of happiness overcoming sadness and it's unfortunate hurdles.
With a happy ever after ending.
One Night In My Rival's Bed is a predictable but easy read. It holds your attention and is a pleasant way to pass sometime while travelling or on holiday.
A passionate enemy-to-lovers romance with sizzling chemistry and a forbidden romance vibe. Told from a first-person point of view, it gives the reader a good insight into the female protagonist's feelings but only her perceptions of how the male protagonist feels. I like this story's humour, passion, and belief that love can conquer adversity.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
I enjoyed this story, however did find the style more difficult to really get into - normally in a Mills & Boon book you get to see the story develop from both sides, however this story is written from the one point of view which took some getting used to. However once you get over that you can get into her head and I enjoyed what ended up being a sweet read
This book was ok the romance is sweet but lacking.
I felt it dragged on a bit and it did not grab me to make enjoy reading this and to be honest i sped read the last half.
Thank you to Netgalley for a ARC for a honest review
I received an ARC from Mills and Boon and NetGalley.
I found this story distinctly odd.
Firstly, it’s first person. I don’t like first person. I much prefer third person, dual POV. I want to be in the hero’s head as well as the heroine’s. I didn’t like occasions when the heroine spoke to the reader. I find that distinctly jarring.
Niamh is supposed to have suffered brain damage and it is supposed to have affected her so badly she has a part time support worker and the rest of the time, her sister Ash takes care of everything for her. . However, from the moment we meet her, there is nothing to suggest this is the case. She seems perfectly articulate and able to talk and act for herself.
The heroine veered from being unpleasant to her supposed enemy, to having sex on a desk, on the floor and harbouring dreams of happy ever after with the speed of lightning. I found her a strangely unsympathetic character.
The hero kept insisting he couldn’t do more than a ONS but then chased her and declared he was obsessed with her, but it was just sex. It didn’t make sense!
This was well written and I enjoyed lots of it, but it,didn’t feel like a MM book. And I kept pausing to try and figure out why I wasn’t enjoying it as much as I’d expected.
I’m a little disappointed in this. I really enjoyed the relationship between Grayson and Ash but a lot of their conversations were just them repeating themselves. Repeat dialogue, and then I didn’t get their relationship. I will definitely read more by the author
I thought that this book had a good storyline and was really enjoyable
The characters were well developed and they worked really well together with some great interaction – it was another great read from Melanie Milburne and Mills & Boon
The author had a lovely writing style and the book had a great flow. It was a book that I read in an afternoon – it had a happy ending and was romantic and sexy
It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!
