I am a fan of Nicole Trope's mystery and suspense books so I was eager to read this one. However, it was changed from being marketed as mystery/suspense to family drama and that is not what I was expecting. However, it is well written and I enjoyed the multiple points of view. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys women's fiction or family dramas. Looking forward to Trope's next book. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

The Truth about the Accident is a mystery in which, as the narrative goes on, several women have reason to hit a man in a hit and run mystery.
It becomes evident earlier on in the novel than I would have like, just what the answer is.
A fast read. I would have liked the suspense to have lasted longer.

This is one DELICIOUS novel about love, deception and revenge.
🚙
Damon is run over while walking across the street on a rainy night. He has a wife Marla and two teens. Damon is now in a medically induced comma as the police try to find out who hit him.
🚙
Damon is a CEO of a powerful tech company, but he has a wandering eye. We quickly learn that he is leaving a trail of broken hearts. Camera footage on that faithful rainy night is slim. The suspects could be anyone! Could it have be someone from the company? A spurned wife or loved?
🚙
Trope always delivers domestic suspense with a silver platter! She invited us in, serves us a delicious story and lets us bask in the finale.

Thank you Bookouture, Netgalley and Nicole for this advanced copy which is available June 30, 2023.

Thank you Netgalley for the book in exchange of my honest opinion.
First the things I liked:
- Different POV's (incl. a mystery character!)
- Revenge plot
- Writing style
Now what I didn't like:
- Damon ( dear god what a douche! )
- All the other characters
Let me explain why. I couldn't put myself in ANY of their shoes. The whole story I couldn't believe how stupid they all were - all that drama, all those children just because of that douchbag of a man.
I admit I read it fast - because I finally wanted to get to the twist and to finish it tbh.

I can't figure out why this feels like something I've already read or if it's just a bit predictable?! It felt really busy and a bit muddy for me. It took a while to get a good sense of who the main characters were and even longer for the many side characters. I did like it but it felt a but of a slow burn and there weren't really any twists or turns. In saying that, I did read it all the way through and wad invested enough to want to find out how it all ended and the truth. Take from that review what you will, I'm still a but on the fence about this one

Absolutely fantastic plot! Could not put the book down once I began reading it. Cannot wait for it to be released. Will recommend it to everyone I know!

Yet another book I just couldn’t put down, this one comes highly recommended by me! It was an easy read and I enjoyed the characters and story line.

I read a prepublication copy of this book; and I have discovered a new favorite author. This novel is structurally well-written; the style is highly readable; the characters are fully fleshed out; the plot is complex but suitably paced and easy to follow.

Thank you to netgalley for giving me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I just finished reading The Truth About The Accident by Nicole Trope. It was overall a good entertaining read. I enjoyed that the story was told from the multiple perspectives of the different women in Damon’s life. I wasn’t able to to figure out who the mystery woman was, and for me it was a good surprise at the end!
The author did a good job of making the reader hate Damon, and feel sympathetic towards the women in his life who he wronged.
Overall this was a 3.5/4 star read for me. And I do agree with others who said, they wouldn’t classify this as a thriller, but more so a “family drama”.

I was so excited to read this book. I love books with multiple points of view that tell the same story. Unfortunately this one wasn’t for me. There were no twists or turns, nothing shocking happened, and I felt like each chapter I was reading the same thing over and over. Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book started off very well and I really liked the first few chapters. About half way through the story I found the characters were all very similar and it just didn’t have the fast paced twists and turns I was expecting. In saying that not s bad story and would make an ok holiday read.

This book follows Marla, Sonya, and Athena. All three women were involved with a man named Damon. He tells them each what they want to hear. Damon is in a terrible accident, and the story is woven around this until we come to a conclusion about what actually happened.
This was a quick read. It’s relatively short, and does have a good narrative to it. The characters were pretty one dimensional, but it worked for the novel. I loved the multiple POV and the fourth person who we didn’t find out fully about until the end. The epilogue was also good!
Overall, I’d recommend this as a quick, easy to read thriller with a good ending.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
Damon is a cheat. His long suffering wife is aware of many affairs. Then something changes. Damon is hit by a car and left for dead on his hospital bed. The story then tells the tale of wife, pregnant mistress and two time lover/therapist. What do they know, but more importantly what did they do.
I enjoyed this book. Told from the point of view of each woman chapter by chapter. Switching from the current day to the past we slowly learn what has happened. A slow burner but very satisfying when we got the end. A tale of revenge where you can totally sympathise with the women!

Sadly this wasn‘t „mine“. Neither the non-stop-telling writing style nor the characters gripped me. Going with the amount of positive reviews I think I can end this review with the result that a book and a reader not always built the connection needed to go along well with each other.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing the copy!

Thank you Netgalley for this arc! This is my first book by Nicole Trope, and I was blown away. I love the writing style of the book and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I was back and forth between so many different scenarios, and I did not guess it at the end. 5 stars for me.

How did a man with a wife and multiple mistresses think it was going to end?
I loved this. While when I requested it, it was marketed as a thriller and now has changed out of that genre it is a very good read.
Confrontation and an accident, believeable responses and sterling narration make this a one sitting book.

Wooooh!!! This book just got better and better as it went on. Holy smokes did I dig myself into this book and not let go. Expertly written just enough wonder to make you second and even third quess yourself. Perfect chapter length and buildup on all characters. Brilliant.
Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.

This is the second book I read by Nicole and I really enjoyed. Damon is a married man who has multiple lovers and ends up in a coma. There is just so much going on, you can’t put the book down! It was interesting to read multiple point of views of the wife and lovers. It was a very well written book. Thank you NetGalley, Nicole and Bookouture!

A wife discovers her husband has cheated on her. She decides to confront him alongside two of his mistresses. An accident happens. What really happened? Will her husband be okay? Does she want him to be okay? Delve into this thriller to learn more about Damon, the man in the accident. This book was a fast paced, intriguing thriller as I tried to piece together what really happened.
