This is my first Mia Sheridan book and I went in blind. Its very dark, so see trigger warnings, but I was sucked in by Mia's writing. I can't wait to pick up more of her other titles. This one wasn't the perfect fit for me, but I can see why her books are so well loved.

All The Little Raindrops by Mia Sheridan

My rating:
4/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Evan and Noelle were taken and woke both woke up in cages next to eachother in an unknown room. How will they get out of the cages, why were they put in them and was this a coincidence that they knew each other?

This book started out extremely dark and messed up right from the beginning. I was absolutely intrigued and did not quite know where the story was going to go.

Around 40ish%, the pace of this book seemed to change and it felt like a different story. While I enjoyed it, I found myself a little bored in the middle. The ending picked up and I enjoyed how all the pieces of the story came together.

I have read many of Mia Sheridan’s books and they never disappoint. This was a thriller, her second thriller after she wrote Bad Mother, which I heard accompanied this one but could be read as a stand alone.

Mia typically writes romance with lots of emotion in it, and while this had elements of both, it was not her normal romance focused novel. I do prefer them, but would absolutely recommend this one! Thanks netgalley for the ARC! You can read this one now!

I just finished the book and my mind is still reeling! No one likes to think of the vile things that humans do to each other, but this book brings those taboo things to light. It also explores connections and bonds that can be formed from a shared traumatic experience. It’s full of questions and wondering, but in the end, all of these are answered. The two main characters work so hard to lead normal lives after the horrific torture and abuse and they give me hope that people can recover and be happy afterwards! I love the ending of this book!!! It is very satisfying!!! I would like to thank Net Galley for my ARC and I will definitely recommend this book to my fellow readers who like twisty subject matter like I do!!!

DNF at 44% .. it started off okay but tbh I was bored. I didn’t like any of the characters or the plot. I was going to force myself to finish just to see how it ended and I did keep going for a while but ultimately I don’t want to waste my time reading books I’m not enjoying and won’t end up liking.

It’s a shame because the blurb piqued my interest immediately and I thought for sure I was going to like it but it just wasn’t for me.

If you are a fan of 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓'𝒔 𝑽𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 like I am, this book is not the same - be warned!

While it’s classified as romantic suspense, I’d argue that it’s more thriller. I really enjoyed the way that Evan and Noelle are able to heal and truly love each other, but much of this book just sickens me. The depravity of some humans is illustrated in this book; you MUST check the trigger warnings before reading. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart; some parts were just too much for me.

I def prefer Archers voice more so than this one but it was still good. All the Little Raindrops is about two abducted teenagers, Noelle and Evan, who team up despite a shared tragic past. After escaping, years later, Evan, now a private investigator, reconnects with Noelle to solve the ongoing case. They discover the key is a person called the Collector, who holds vital information about their abductors. All the Little Raindrops is a gripping romantic suspense that had me hooked with its twists and turns from start to finish. Mia Sheridan kicks off the story with a bang, plunging readers right into the action. I was totally invested in the characters and the plot, eager to unravel the mystery of Noelle and Evan's kidnapping.

NetGalley Review — my rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

“All the Little Raindrops” by @miasheridanauthor is unlikely anything I’ve ever read by her. Just WOW WOW WOW.

This is the tragic story of Noelle and Evan — thrown together in a harrowing story of sacrifice, torment, terror, and as unlikely as it seems, love.

I refuse to spoil this one but it gives Hostel vibes and has hellaaaaa trigger warnings so it’s not for the faint of heart. But I absolutely loved it. Not sure what that says about me 😏🤪

Slayyyyyed, Mia. Love this side of your writing! Keep it coming!

I usually love Mia Sheridan book but sadly this one just wasn’t for me, I don’t mind dark romance but this was just too much for me

“A home where a hundred dwelled, maybe there to live in peace, but maybe there to rattle their chains deep in the dead of night.”

it’s senior year and Noelle has found herself in the worst situation possible - kidnapped, in a cage and the other person with her, Evan, is a son to the man who murdered her mother. the two soon begin to get “rented out” and realize they are being watched on camera, they need to escape … but how. Noelle is rented by a man who doesn’t do what they usually do to her and is the catalyst for their escape. once freed and trauma bonded, Noelle makes the decision to no longer be a part of Evans life - her father died while she was gone and Evan’s father is still an evil being. Ten years later, Evan is a P.I. and comes to learn these kidnappings are still happening … he needs to find Noelle to help those currently in the cages, but when he finds her, he quickly learns Noelle’s been keeping secrets of her own.

HO-LY SHIT. I can’t begin to say how great this book was. I’m used to the typical love stories from Mia but this one did not miss. I am slowly dipping my toes in romantic suspense and while this was a little more suspense than romance it was perfect. At first I thought I had the story figured out and Mia just kept throwing curve balls. SO MANY chapters I read with chills because the writing just took you exactly where the characters are. I loved Noelle and I loved Evan. I’m so happy despite their shared tragedy they got a happy ever after.

OMG!! So even though I was in a slump while reading half of this, it still had me entertained the whole time! It just took me a little while longer.
But OH MY GOSH!! This was the perfect amount of dark and romance!
I definitely didn’t want it to end!

I go into every thriller without bias so that I can let it envelop me and thrill me with every twist and turn. While I liked the writing style of Mia Sheridan, the book itself didn't grab my attention. I made several attempts to start and re-start it, hoping it was my mood, but eventually DNF.

For me, it lacked a shocking or thrilling element to the beginning. I needed something more. The first part of the book felt like the same old "kidnapped and kept in captivity" that other authors have done. I suggest doing something to grab the reader's attention right off the bat.

This was so good! I have absolutely no doubts it will be a big book club pick! Highly recommend. 5 stars from me!

The different POV's is what made this book speed along to its shocking conclusion. I was heavily invested in figuring out what happened and felt the character's emotions jumping off the page. The descriptions can be harrowing and this book leaves a heavy emotional impact. Very worth the read.

I can't believe the person who wrote this book is the same one who wrote Bad Mother and Archer's Voice.
The book was extremely messy, the author just couldn't decide which story arc to focus on, the romance or the secret group of human traffickers, so she kept going back and forth between both, which made the book so hard to get into.
The transition between chapters and story arcs was poorly executed. It felt like the book was written by two people who didn't communicate with each other. Like, at all.
I also wasn't invested in the MCs, they were so bland, which, in a book that relies greatly on the reader rooting for the characters, was bad. It's not like I wanted them to be abused or traumatized, but I just didn't care.
I think what made it worse was how the writing style was, the author kept explaining everything and kind of enforcing me to think a certain way, which took the enjoyment of the reading. You need to give the reader a small window to make assumptions and conclusions, otherwise, I could've just read a summary.
I will try to forget about the book since Mia Sheridan is one of my favorite authors, so I'd just treat it as a blip on the radar.

DNF at 13%

Unfortunately this book isn't what it was advertised as, and while the author is known for her romances, I think this is a wrong step in a different direction for her. I didn't sign up for a book about people being locked up and tortured, which is not what the synopsis promised.

I have made a mistake. I should have done a little more research before picking up this book. Normally, I like going in totally blind with no preconceived expectations. But for this one, I should have more thoroughly investigated the contents. I skimmed the synopsis enough to think to myself, “Oh, Mia Sheridan is writing a thriller… I definitely have to read that!” And, in my defense, there are no trigger warnings written expressly anywhere. There most definitely should be. I was not prepared for torture, abuse, trafficking, and sexual assault to be occurring by chapter five. I knew there was a kidnapping, but from the synopsis it tells us that they escape and that the story is about events happening many years later. So I feel like I was right in being surprised that we spent the first twenty percent or so experiencing the kidnapping. I mean, we already know they get out, so I’m not sure if it furthers the plot in any way. I guess it was to show us firsthand and in more detail the things that they go through together? I don’t know but I just wasn’t properly prepared for it and it was really difficult for me to read. While I like dark romance and themes, I struggled to read about non-consensual acts with teenagers. And I’m sure I won’t be alone in that. I DNF’d so I won’t be leaving a rating or review anywhere because I don’t think that would be fair.

ALL THE LITTLE RAINDROPS had an interesting and dark premise that quickly drew me in. The story of Noelle and Evan was compelling and creepy, and the first half of the book was a quick read.

The second half was less compelling though, and unwound at a slower pace that lost my interest. The ultimate conclusion was a letdown and didn’t feel like a fitting conclusion to an otherwise interesting story.

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read and review ALL THE LITTLE RAINDROPS.

This story follows Noelle and Evan after they've been kidnapped by an unknown and organized group of people who rent them out to sick individuals for a hefty fee. They manage to escape with the help of one of the participants, but their abductors are never found. Years later, they revisit the crime to try to unravel it and take their captors down.

It was quite a ride and it kept me engaged the entire time because I didn't know what to expect next. I liked the characters as well and I was rooting for them. Their development was interesting and I liked the way their relationship evolved after the trauma they survived together.

However, there's something I don't like about this book, but I can't put my finger on it. I think maybe the pacing or the way the story was structured was off. I'm not sure, but there's something that holds this back for me. I guess I'll never know, lmao.

Overall, it was an interesting read, not at all what I was expecting, and I recommend it if you're in the mood for a thriller with good twists. Mind your triggers, though.
