I kinda went blind into this but I’m not sure what I excepted at all. I would give it a solid 3 for the mystery part, but as far as the romance goes it was very disappointing and pretty wattpad ish( there’s nothing wrong with that but i was not expecting this feeling from this particular book

Worth a try though
Thank you netgalley for the arc

Mia is a must-read author in my book! She writes great stories that suck me in and leave me wishing for more. This was no exception. Closed-room captivity to begin the book leads to more about the main characters and it was such an enthralling story. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Five stars!

‘All the little raindrops’ was introduced to me as part of Amazon UK’s October First Reads. Mia Sheridan writes diverse books covering multiple genres, so I was interested to see what this entailed.
This was advertised as two teenagers being kidnapped and how as adults they have to reconnect to revisit their trauma as they attempt to find those responsible for taking them.
Noelle and Evan, two eighteen-year-olds have been taken and are being held in cages and used for entertainment. I think the less I say about the story the better as it was a hard read. It was fairly graphic in its description of their capture, what they experienced during, and how they coped initially after the ordeal. It focused a lot more on their capture than I originally thought.
The two briefly knew each other through a brutal trial six years prior where Noelle’s mother was murdered, and Evan’s father was a prime suspect until he was found not guilty. There was obviously a lot of contempt between the pair and even more so when Evan’s father was briefly mentioned.
Overall if you’re after a dark thriller and romantic elements then this might be a good read for you. It was a lot more graphic and intense than advertised therefore I think better warnings should be included.

Some include –
- Kidnap
- Torture
- Sexual assault
- Trafficking
- Intense description of trauma, physical and mental
- Death
- Paedophilia

Mia Sheridan definitely writes diversly, and this is no exception. Thank you for the eARC.

DNF......

"dark and gruesome" was an accurate description and a bit ridiculous for me. Just not my kind of book as it wasn't believable or relatable for me. Seeing the ratings and other reviews, I assume it is just me.

But thanks to Net Galley and Montlake for giving me the opportunity to try this book and author.

All the Little Raindrops by M. Sheridan, published by Montlake is a story that doesn't fit only one genre. A dark read, a thriller with romantic elements describes this outstanding read the best imo.
Noelle and Evan were seniors at highschool when they both were abducted and held captive, were playthings for cruel mindgames.
Years later both are back and soon they learn nothing is as it seems, literally nothing.
A chilling, thrilling story that gives all the feels and left me with a major bookhangover. This book is everything I couls have asked for and never knew I wanted to read that bad. I recommend the book.

This was definitely a harrowing experience! Not a light read but it was a great read. I found the full circle of the book to be engaging, a tough experience but a satisfying ending. I’m a fan of dark romance so read the warnings. Five huge stars!

A dark tale of two people who wake up in cages, no idea why they are there or what is about to happen to them. The one thing they do know is that they have a past, almost as horrible as what is about to unfold. HOPEFULLY NO SPOILERS AHEAD!
It's a heartbreaking, inspiring journey of survival. Of two people who are unwilling to be the cause of suffering to another, even their worst enemy, even if they have to pay the price. Together, they face the darkness and triumph, only to find that what happens in the dark, does not stay in the dark and years later they could not even predict the horrible secrets that are hidden in plain sight. Even the devil would put the depravity of the people who orchestrate these events to shame. Evil is all I can call it. It's thrilling, dark, and full of love and healing and acceptance. I loved Evan and Noelle. Such awe-inspiring characters that strive so hard to find heeling and peace after their ordeal. Who are terrified that finding comfort in their fellow captive is not healthy and they should be apart. Their journey from darkness to let is something no one should miss! I really enjoyed it, all parts of it, and I can't wait to see what the author does next!

Noelle and Evan are two teenagers who share a tragic past. When they are abducted together, they work together to escape.

I saw some bad reviews saying this book was too dark and gruesome. That was the part I liked! For the first 25% of this book I was enamored. I couldn’t put It down from the very first page. The story changes direction completely and threw me off. I lost interest in the romance and the new pace, which compared to the beginning was super slow. If it had started that way, I may have enjoyed it but it was too much of a shock after the fast pace in the first quarter.

“People thought they watched reality tv, but there was very little reality to it. It was scripted and edited to lead the watcher toward predetermined conclusions. This thought- it was riveting.”

Wow this is disturbing at first. So our kids are kidnapped and locked in cages in a dark creepy basement. They hate each other because the boy's dad killed the girls mom, and got away with it.
It turns out that they are there because some sickos want to see them tortured on camera and make some bets. They are good kids though, so they decided that they will endure anything to keep the other from leaving there with missing limbs. So they are being hurt in all the other ways, essentially. The collector is a guy who is watching them. He might want them to escape because he has bet they will.
Also there is a guy who is their jailer and he agreed to do his part so he can cut off the limbs.
Anyway, these are smart kids so the story moves on past that, thank gob. I couldn't handle an entire book of that.
It gets a little romantic but in a an understandable trauma bond way.
This was so much better than I expected.
Seriously read this one.

The ties that bind...

Noelle and Evan have a fully entertwined past and now present.
It started with his father killing her mother.
Then they were both aducted.
Now, Evan is investigating the past and present and asks Noelle to revisit their past because of the present.
The ties that bind these two are complex. There is a ton of suspense and unanswered questions they have to work through. dare they have a future?
Recommend.

Having skipped all of Mia Sheridan's stories and deciding to start out with her thrillers has been a pretty incredible ride to say the least. I loved Bad Mother. It was one of my top reads of 2023. It is recommended that you read that story first; however, really did not see a need to do that if one did not want to.
The story begins immediately with Evan and Noelle having been captured and locked in cages. They undergo the unimaginable. The story definitely starts out dark and includes plenty of topics that could trigger some people, but they eventually escape.
After that happens, the story takes on a bit more of a detective feel. Years later, Evan and Noelle are on a quest to figure out who took them and why. And they intend to stop this from happening to anyone else ever again. I really enjoyed that aspect of the storyline.
All the Little Raindrops has significantly more romance in it than Bad Mother did. It is definitely not a "romance," but there is definitely still a huge part of the story built around it which may appeal to a broader audience.
Overall, this was a fast-paced thrilling story. I love what Mia Sheridan is doing with this genre branch out, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

The plot is well written out between the romance portions and the thriller portions. The book kept me always second guessing what was going to happen next so I was determined to finish it in one sitting. I love the style of the writing as well I feel like there is equal parts humor and serious so I want to keep reading. I’m usually not a huge fan of third person but I felt like it really worked with the story to give a general perspective of what was happening with each of the characters.

Thank you for the gifted e-copy.

Wow. This book certainly started out with a bang and then got crazy quickly. It slowed down a bit towards the end, but then picked back up and finished by wrapping everything up.

Noelle has been kidnapped and locked in a cage with no light and barely any food or water. After a few days, someone gets thrown in the cage next to her - a boy from her school, Evan. Their past is beyond schoolmates though - Evan's dad killed Noelle's mom. Why would the two of them be kidnapped? Was it planned this way? Then, a man comes to get Noelle telling her she's being rented - or, she could choose not to go, but it'll cost two of Evan's fingers. This goes on, alternating between Evan and Noelle for several days. In turn, they receive gifts - rose petals, butter, peanuts...What kind of sick game is this??

And a sick game it is.

I really can't give away too much. But this is a wild and crazy ride with a ton of trigger warnings.

WOW! I will say psychological thrillers romance normally isn’t my cup of tea but it is Mia Sheridan’s writing so hard to resist . The story is about Noelle and Evan, two teenagers who was kidnapped and tortured. They don’t know why or who took them but they do know they shared a tragic circumstance. Noelle’s mother was killed at the hand of Evan’s father and he got away with it. Despite this knowledge, they united during their captivity, determined to survive and came up with a harrowing escape…physically and emotional scattered 
Evan and Noelle both moved on with their life but years later Evan, now a private investigator reached out to Noelle. He is working on a case that he suspects might have some tie with “the Collector”, one who responsible for the hideous crime against them. As much as Evan and Noelle want to forget, they have to face the past and revisit the scene of the crime. This story is definitely intense, chilling, a bit too dark and full of triggering topics. The plot is twisted, thrilling, well-paced, which kept me engaged the whole time. I must say just like Bad Mother I had to skim some parts though because I could not stomach the brutal details. I think if you like dark, thrillers, suspense story you will have no problem. Mia’s storyline is always intriguing – she does come up with material and story that you have not experienced before. Of course there is a love story in there but don’t expect unicorn and rainbow. Evan and Noelle’s love story is complicated, plagued with their shared tortuous experience, but these two are anything but resilience. They persevered and they don’t let what happened destroyed them. Well-executed psychological romance thriller.

Riveting thriller that held me captive from beginning to end. From page 1 I was swept into this mysterious suspenseful thriller!
Two young captives from opposites sides of life, held in cages, yet they have a tragic connection.
Is that why they’re being captive?
Why are they here?
Whose behind it?
What’s the end game?
Why the sick depraved mind games?
These are just a FEW of the questions that arose as I began to read this story.
I have to admit this was not an easy read. At times I found it slow and the things these young captives went through were awful.
Yet this story was a complex and complicated story about dirty family secrets that I needed to discover.
What evolved and developed…methodically was what made this read so intriguing , so twisted and so worth reading!
4.5 stars!

Wow just wow. This is a DARK story, right in time for Halloween, NOT a bedtime story.
More to come … I just finished and needing to process.
Whew this book had so many twist and turns that I was not expecting. To be strong, to have the will to live and compassion for your fellow humans. You have to go with your gut never mind the outward appearance. A story of a game revenge and coming to terms with being the pawn.
In order to LIVE it is not to have power and money because that is EVIL!
