This contemporary romance offers a unique twist on the billionaire trope, mixing humor, emotion, and a touch of heat. The plot is light and fun, though it occasionally borders on predictable. Still, the witty dialogue and charming characters make it a delightful read for romance fans.
REVIEW: Baby Bank by Sarah Robinson
Baby Bank by Sarah Robinson is a quirky and entertaining rom-com that offers a fresh take on the modern woman's journey to motherhood. Mila, a successful divorce lawyer, decides to have a baby on her terms, utilizing a free sperm bank app.
The story is filled with humor and witty banter, and Robinson does a great job of creating relatable characters. The premise is intriguing, and the author lightheartedly explores themes of friendship, family, and self-discovery.
The pacing could have been a little faster, and some of the character arcs could have been more developed. Despite these minor flaws, Baby Bank is a fun and satisfying read that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance.
Thank you, Netgalley and Books by Sarah Robinson, for the free advanced copy for my honest review!
This was sadly a DNF for me. I found the writing style hard to follow. I also wasn’t totally clicking with the main characters.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sarah Robinson for this advance copy of Baby Bank, in exchange for this honest review.
I found myself getting into this one in the hope of finding something to read during Pride month and I was very pleased with our queer characters in this book - I found the representation to be very well done. One thing that I struggled with was the stylistic nature - was this supposed to be a romance? (I went in thinking yes.) I don’t think I connected with some of the romantic elements as much as other readers might have, and this felt like it had a lot of subplots that made it lean towards more of a general women’s fiction.
Thank you again to NetGalley and the author for this ARC of Baby Bank.

Not a great cover, but a pretty good read!
I came for the unexpected romance and stayed for the stellar cast of characters. The relationship dynamics between Mila and Ari and their family and friends were my absolute favorite. I also really loved the abundance of queer and BIPOC rep. While I enjoyed the romance here, I do think it was overshadowed by other subplots. I think this book could have benefited from being a teensy bit longer to adjust for that, but I had fun reading it regardless. I’ll for sure be reading the next book in this series.
"Baby Bank" by Sarah Robinson is a delightful rom-com that dives into the complexities of modern-day relationships, career aspirations, and the ticking biological clock. Mila Torres, a successful divorce lawyer and aspiring stand-up comedian, finds herself at a crossroads when her doctor suggests freezing her eggs due to her nearing thirty-five. Determined to have a child now rather than later, Mila embarks on a hilarious journey with the help of an online sperm bank app called Baby Bank.
Robinson skilfully weaves together elements of LGBTQIA+ romance, friendship, and family dynamics as Mila navigates the unconventional path to motherhood. The author's witty prose and relatable characters bring humour and heart to the story, making it an engaging read from start to finish.
As Mila explores potential sperm donors and unexpected connections, readers are treated to a rollercoaster of emotions and laugh-out-loud moments. The addition of Mila's quirky friends and her feline companion adds depth to the narrative, creating a rich tapestry of relationships and experiences.
"Baby Bank" is a refreshing take on the challenges and joys of starting a family in the digital age, with a cast of characters that will leave readers rooting for love and laughter. Robinson's clever storytelling and authentic portrayal of modern life make this novel a must-read for fans of contemporary romance and comedy alike.
Not a bad book considering I had no idea what all I was going into. It wasn't.my favorite. I feel like it was actually quite good. But it just wasn't resonating with me the way I wanted it to. I may come back to this one later.
3.75ish stars
I’d been meaning to come back to this read book for a while, and honestly, I should have done it sooner. The first part of the story jumps right into the main plot at an unbelievable pace (character is at a doctor appt, doctor suggests she consider having kids soon, she gets pregnant a few days later), but it was all just a lot of fun. Some pieces made me laugh out loud, and while others felt a bit slower, I did enjoy the story over all. It also made me question how some of these processes work here in Canada and, therefore, resulted in a bit more research on my end. All in all, it was a happy, mostly light-headed story with a nice HEA conclusion.
Somehow, there was too much going on and not enough. The stakes for our lawyer and the potential of losing her job felt weak. The more I read, it actually felt out of character for her to reveal information about a client. And she was a comedy genius anyway so the risk of losing her license didn’t actually matter because she had 200k YouTube views on her comedy acts. This all created a dissonance for me as I read, like I was supposed to feel tension but didn’t.
5 stars - self publishing is hard.

This book delivered some of the best sapphic, witty banter. I’m obsessed!
Wow! How could I not absolutely fall in love with this book? Everything about it is brilliant. There is a diverse and very well written cast of characters, which are all given depth of personality and wonderful characteristics to really bring each to life. The whole premise of the story is absolutely excellent. It is packed with honesty and hilarious moments, all which culminate in a very interesting situation and the hope of a beautiful baby. Though life never goes that simply and instead we are taken on a hilarious and wonderful journey, as well as one with ups and downs.
Overall, I was blown away by this story. It was wonderful to read and just completely enjoy, for everything that it is. I fully, whole-heartedly recommend this book!
This was a super fun and inclusive book that encompassed found family. If you’re looking for a book to make you feel good and has a lot of LGBTQ+ representation, look no further!
Couldn't get invested unfortunately but I think the premise was interesting so I might give it another go sometime in the future. Pregnancy books can always be a hit or miss for me.

Baby Bank by Sarah Robinson is a page turning read. Really loved and enjoyed reading the story.
A Must read for all readers.
I loved this book! It's a quirky, hilarious romcom that explored motherhood and relationships through an LGBTQ+ lens with the addition of an "older" FMC (I hate to say older, Mila is just 34 years old, but I find a lot of FMC's to be in their early 20's so its nice to have a FMC around my age!).
Pick up Baby Bank if you want to read a sapphic romance, that involves found family, parenthood, women empowerment with lots of humour and some spice.
This was a great, if slightly quirky, romcom.
I enjoyed the exploration of motherhood and women’s decisions, and especially in a LGBTQ+ setting. I think topics were handled well in a way that prompted thoughts and discussions, whilst also keeping it lighthearted and good fun to read.
Thank you for the Arc in return for an honest review.
Rom-Com books can be hit or miss especially LGBTQ+ ones, though this book was a homerun! I laughed from beginning to end and also felt the pain along with the characters. I thought I knew how the book would go pretty soon into it but Sarah did a great job with making you think again. I would say this was one of my favorite books I've read and can't wait to read more from the author.
Did not read. Read some stuff about the author that I did not support. I won’t support an author who is controversial. I couldn’t read this book. I didn’t start it or open it.
