I was so excited to read this novel. The idea of a novel built around found family, queer love and the ways we choose to build our families especially with the help of those generous individuals who donate their dna is like catnip for me.
I wanted the book to be so much better than it was. It touched on, but did not develop every. Single. Hot. Button. Topic. In queerdom. Also it seemed disjointed. First off the main character decides to become pregnant on what seems like a whim. Then there’s an open door spicy theme, but I wasn’t really aware that anyone liked each other. This book was very then this happened…then this happened…then this happened. The end. I think the idea was great. I just wanted it to be better.
This book is a fresh take on queer romance and the journey to parenthood. Realistic and well developed characterization made this book feel relatable even though circumstances are not something I've experienced. Story was fun and fresh and never boring. I especially enjoyed the relationships between family and friends. Would definitely recommend to modern readers looking for something new. Would love to read more titles from this author in the future.
The overwhelming adjective I can think of to describe this book is fine. The characters are fine, the plot is fine, the romance is fine. The concept is cute but the execution needed more fine-tuning. The romance between the lead and her love interest felt forced and underdeveloped, and the love interest ended up having a whole bunch of trauma that I felt was never properly explored. That being said, I was still entertained by the book, especially by the matriarch characters.
I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.
Thank you soooooo much netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced review copy if this book💗

Love this!!!!!
This was an okay story. I had a hard time getting into it because it had a lot of typical millennial content. And I just got kind of tired of it. But it was funny and I enjoyed having a sapphic novel that was light and fluffy.
This book wasn't horrible or anyting, it's just not my cup of tea. The writing is fine and the plot is reasonable.
What irked me quite a lot, though, was the way pregnancy was depicted. Everything was glossed over, everything working out well, no problems.
If you're into a book about lesbians wanting to get a baby via a baby bank, this might be for you.
Nice read. Love the representation. However, it seems like a big chunk of Mila and Ari's story is missing.
I’m a huge fan of Sarah Robinson and her new book is a well written fun description of having a Baby from the donor Bank.
The storyline is quirky and has all the feels, with some unexpected surprises in the quest to have a baby. I love the writing style, the emotional connection and complexities of relationships.
Mila is thinking about having a baby, will it be on her own or will she find love?
The characters all bring their own personalities to the story, lots of laughs, love and heartwarming moments. Options to have a baby are not always straightforward and this story will have you thinking about all that love is.
Huge congratulations and thanks to Books by Sarah Robinson, NetGalley and the fantastic Sarah Robinson for the opportunity to read this amazing book.

This book was very funny and relatable. I really loved all the characters and I’d recommend it to anyone.
Review: This book had a lot happening and covered a good chunk of time. A modern storyline that I have never read before, but very detailed and crass in many spots. Some section were long and dull, but overall a great strong book full of interesting female characters.
Recommended For: Those looking for a different romance book.
This was a solid sapphic book. I felt that the complexity of the political issues, workplace ethics, and the nuances of queerness were approached with ample respect and care. I found Ari and Mila were a great lead couple and their sexual tension on page was intriguing and held my attention. I felt like the craft of the book itself had loads of room to grow though. The multiple subplots were woven together haphazardly and seemed to stop and start sporadically. Chapter to chapter the transitions were really choppy and it didn’t make sense why we were jumping from one topic to another. Certain character motivations seemed out of the blue because we didn’t get enough context for Mila’s emotional introspection or her reflection and interpretation of other people’s actions. The construction of the story required a lot more help but the heart of it was there and enticing. I hope Sarah Robinson keeps writing queer fiction and growing her craft because this was a solid attempt and I want to read more as she grows!
My first book by this author and I truly enjoyed it.
Mila Torres a 30 something pansexual lawyer working in D.C. by day and doing stand up comedy by night, decides she wants to be a mother. She and her friends come across an app called Baby Bank which offers sperm doners to interested parties. Skeptical at first, she moves forward after much research.
Ari Elliot, a reporter who won't leave her alone regarding a case she's working on end up being the sister to the sperm daddy. Hilarity and drama ensue.
There is more than meets the eye between these two and the journey is filled with drama and laughter as their relationship progresses. Low angst, low heat, some sexual tension. A well written story
4/5 stars
Funny, lovely, feelfood book with great characters, humor, romance and a bit of spice. The journey that single mom Mila rather impulsively undertakes is littered with bumps in the road, comedic situations, awesome friends and a new, complicated love interest.
Really, if you need a feel good book that delivers emotions and several chuckles: pick this one up!
Not my thing (I should have known from it being an artificial insemination story) but extremely cute and well written. I can't wait to see what Robinson writes next!
Prepare for a laughter-filled and heartwarming adventure as Mila Torres navigates the complexities of modern parenthood in Baby Bank. A delightful and witty story that proves life's greatest surprises can be found in the most unexpected places."
This was a cute book about a woman who decides she's ready to be a mom, even though she doesn't have a significant other.
Mila is a successful divorce lawyer who realizes, after a visit to her OBGYN, that now is the time for a baby!! Someone mentions an app to her called Baby Bank and she checks it out. After swiping through many no's she finds the YES she was looking for.
While Aston didn't want to be a parent he was happy to donate his sperm, to LOTS of women. He also throws annual parties for the women and their children. That concept was strange to me and still feels like too much for a donor but to each their own, I suppose.
Mila ends up finding more than just sperm to complete her family and it was a fun story about how that all went down.
Parenthood doesn't look the same for everyone and neither does becoming a parent. I enjoyed this story about an alternative way to make your own family and ultimately the winding road it can take you down.
This book is only rated based on how much fun I had reading it. I know that I should be critical with my reviews of ARCs, but this one just made me too happy.
This may be the first time I've seen myself represented in a adult rom-com as a pan woman and I loved it so much. If Sarah Robinson continues to kill it with the accurate diversity, I will continue to pick up her books.
DNF
This just wasn’t for me. There were a few parts that I found confusing right from the get-go E.g. she’s shocked that she’s interested in what the gyno says but then two seconds later she’s saying she’s been thinking about it a while and has always wanted kids. There was a few other similar moments that were contradictory and pulled me out of the story too.
Quick read with a good diverse side cast of characters.
I felt that the pacing was sometimes rushed, though it was cool to see the main character throughout her pregnancy.
I would definitely read from this author again.
