An absolutely fantastic story. Loved reading all about the Castle, Happy Ever After Street and the Cinderella dress shop. Sadie is incredibly talented making beautiful dresses. Aunt Ebony and cousin Scarlett are her family. Witt is the Estate Agent tasked with selling the castle to a supermarket. The Masked Ball is the event no one wants to miss, but no one should attend either. Jaimie Admans is incredibly talented and has written another unputdownable book.
I'm not sure if I've read a Cinderella retelling before but I wasn't in love with this one. If you want something sweet, it's definitely that. And the story wasn't bad for a retelling but something was missing for me. The cover of the book is probably my favorite thing about it although the world it created -- a sort of fairytale street in an English town -- was quaint and optimistic. I just never got fully immersed in the romance of the situation. Hope you have better luck!
A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street comes out next week on July 4, 2023 and you can purchase HERE.
'Absolutely no one shall go to the ball!'
I look down at the gold-edged ticket in my hand and try not to let the wave of disappointment show on my face. I'd known what my aunt's reaction would be, but ever the optimist, I still thought it was worth asking when that fancy embossed card came through our door. It's all I've thought about since we heard that they were going to open up the castle one last time for a masquerade ball.
I’ve enjoyed many books by Jaimie Admans before, so I was pleased to get her latest, A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street.
I absolutely loved this book, and it’s definitely in the top ten for 2023. As usual when a book is just perfect like this one, it renders me slightly incoherent!
I loved the two main characters, and the way they got to know each other over the course of the story. I loved the way that they helped each other with their difficulties and felt relaxed together.
I loved the way the story took the elements of Cinderella and made it so much better! The result is absolutely magical. It’s funny, and tender, and honestly just wonderful. I don’t know what else I can say to convey how much I loved this book. I can’t wait to read the next in the series.
I was given a copy of this book, my opinions are my own.
I adore Jaimie Admans novels, so was very excited to read her latest novel via @netgalley. And this new one - a Cinderella inspired rom com - doesn’t disappoint. We get a dreamy storyline with lovely main characters and plenty of Disney references too. I devoured this in 24 hours and highly recommend both this one and all of Jaimie’s back catalogue if you’re a fan of women’s romance fiction. A perfect summer read! Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for a free e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Where do I start! O my word what another amazing book by Jaimie Admans.
From the very first chapter I was intrigued by Sadie and her mystery masked man who turns out to Witt. The whole book I was kept entertained by the comings and going’s on Ever after street and the mystery castle. Just as Sadie twigged I twigged also.
Can’t wait to read the next one! So excited there is a next one!!
5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jaimie what can I say! You have done it again, the absolute Queen of rom com, easy reads books you could re read again and again and again.
I have been in a book rut as ages, and was thankfully approved for your latest beauty and it cheered me up.. I couldn't put it down.
If you loved Cinderella and everything princess as a child, then you will adore this book as an adult!
Can not wait now for the next book!!
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Jaimie Adman’s you’ve done it again.
This was a read in one day page-turner,
The perfect read for anyone you believes in fairy tales and loves anything Disney.
It makes you smile, laugh, makes you wish you was there in the Cinderella type setting, and the characters were lovely.
I highly recommend this book.
You cannot convince me that this book was not written for me.
Cinderella retelling? ✅
Tons of Disney reference? ✅
Fairytale aesthetics and whimsical storytelling? ✅
This book features Sadie, our modern day Cinderella. She works as a seamstress in The Cinderella Shop, a boutique located in Ever After Street. The shop once belonged to her parents, but has been taken over by her Aunt Ebony after their untimely passing. Sadie begins the book by attending the ball that is held at the castle overlooking Ever After Street and meeting a mysterious, masked stranger. When the clock strikes midnight she races home and the next day who shows up on her shops step but Witt, her very own Prince Charming. He hoped the seamstress of the gown would be able to identify his mystery woman and doesn’t know it’s actually her!
This book was honestly the height of sweet and cozy. It was a relatively quick read and was legitimately a delight from beginning to end. The writing is cute, the plot is an interesting twist on Cinderella and the relationship that forms between Sadie and Witt is very believable. This is a sweet romance so the most we get is a kiss but that’s a-ok! This book was perfect just as it is!
Sadie as a character was so interesting to read. Watching her grow from overworked seamstress to taking a stand for herself against Ebony was one of the most satisfying things I’ve read in the past month or so. She doesn’t grow a spine overnight, but the slow injection of confidence was sorely needed and I loved watching it happen.
I absolutely loved this book! If you are a fairytale fan, Disney lover of just love to read books about there being magic in the world then I cannot recommend this enough!
Thanks very much to netgalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review!
A book full of fairytale references, where the blossoming romance between Sadie and Witt takes center stage. Each with their own secrets and imperfections, but nevertheless, they complement each other perfectly. It's a sweet, charming love story. Highly recommend.
I got this arc in exchange for an honest review.
What a wonderful Disney themed story!!. I loved it, who couldn't help but love it!!.
Sade lives on Everlast Street in the shadow of a castle. The shops were once worker's houses from the castle but have been sold off as time went on. Everlasting Street is where Disney themed shops give children and adults the chance to believe in magic, fairies and all things wonderful!. Now, on hearing the castle is being sold to make way for a supermarket, everyone is in uproar. As a treat for the locals before things change, the castle is hosting a ball and everyone is invited. Sade is the only one who wants to go but everyone else is boycotting the castle, saying to go is to support the change. Sade's cousin helps her to get ready while he aunt is away and as it's a masked ball, no one will know she's there!.
So the story carries on in true Cinderella style, with one shoe and a bewildered young man looking for help to find the owner and the other shoe!!!.
The characters were all endearing, there were quite a few references to other Disney films so you're in great company to read this book and will enjoy every page!!.
I received this free ARC book for an honest review.

I haven’t read a Jaimie Admans book for a while so it was nice to be back reading her fairytale-esque novels. This one was the ultimate fairytale with Witt and Sadie falling in love at a ball and Sadie running away at midnight whilst losing a shoe along the way.
It was a nice storyline but there was a heck of a lot of mentions of ‘Cinderella’, ‘prince charming’, ‘fairytale’ etc. It was a bit slow to get into but I did overall enjoy this novel.
A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street was well worth staying awake to finish this book late in the night.
It is a sweet, fun easy read that is a fairy tale story. It has Cinderella take to it and makes the reader smile while reading.
This is a book for every lover of fairy tales and happily ever after!
Thank you NetGalley, Jaimie Admans and Boldwood Books for the Arc of
A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street. This is my personal review.
Wow, as with all of Jaimie Admans' books, you just know that you are going to get a story that is romantic but also real at the same time. So it was with this one.
Sadie is a seamstress who works in the business that her parents started. Her aunt is in charge, and is taking the business in entirely the wrong direction. Sadie is waiting for her aunt to hand the business over to her and since she is now in her mid 30's and has been sewing since she was a child, she is more than capable of doing it but as the years have gone on, she has lost her confidence.
Witt is a tall, awkward kind of fellow who struggles to make himself heard. There is a story with him, but it takes a while to unearth it, Witt is a very private person.
Sadie and Witt meet, at a masked ball, so neither of them has any idea who the other is. It allows them to truly be themselves, for one magical night.
Then reality hits them both.
Great story of overcoming adversity and also examining what is important in life generally.
I loved the two main characters and hope they make another appearance in a book :) Aunt Ebony was just obnoxious enough to be interesting!
5 stars from me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books.
Unfortunately, Iwas unable to reD this book as I didn't manage to enlarge the font.
What a pity!!!
Good luck with the book.
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, oh my gosh, how cute was this book. All the fairy tale vibes for this modern day Cinderella love story, what more could you ask for. Let's set the scene, imagine fairy tale themed businesses that line Ever After Street. You have The Cinderella Shop, Rapunzel's Hair Salon, Tale as Old as Time Bookshop and the Colours of the Wind Museum. So cute!! You meet Sadie, who is a talented seamstress at The Cinderella Shop which is currently run by her Aunt Ebony, talk about evil step-aunt. Sadie is looking for her third love, the first two loves are the castle at the top of the hill and The Cinderella Shop. The castle at the top of the hill is up for sale and rumors have it, it will become a supermarket. The owners on Ever After Street are not happy!! This book did have a strong start for me, was a little slower in the middle but picked right back up and honestly the last 1/4 was so good and pulled at my heartstrings. The author wrapped up the ending so well with all the characters and left me in a very happy place. This is a perfect book to read around the holidays / Christmas. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for an honest opinion.
Oh a modern day Cinderella and I'm here for it. It was a beautiful read, the suspense between Witt and Sadie is electric with a perfect will they won't they element.
Jaimie is a brilliant author who I love to read and this one didn't disappoint. It needed a snowy day and it would have been a wonderful Christmas read.
The characters are relatable and well developed. Ebony got on my nerves bit Sadie handled her so well.
I'm looking forward to another book by Jaimie.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Midnight Kiss on Everafter Street is everything the title promises it to be, romantic and magical. I absolutely loved immersing myself in this fairytale storyline, with a difference.
Ever After Street is a superb concept, a street of fairytale themed small businesses. From the Cinderella Dress Shop to the Rapunzel Hair Saloon it is a delight to all that believe in fairy tales with a sprinkling of Disney style magic. This fictional street sits below an old castle abandoned after the last Viscount left mysteriously. Tales of murder, ghosts and sadness make the castle the focus of the unique fairytale nature of the street. However, the castle is going up for sale potentially to a big supermarket. To encourage prospective buyers a large ball is held to show the magnificence within. The owners of Ever After Street are not happy and boycott the ball.
Since the death of both her parents Sadie has lived with her Aunt Ebony and Cousin Scarlett. Ebony manages the Cinderella Dress Shop, the business her sister owned that will pass onto Sadie when she is deemed capable of running it. Ebony is by no means an evil step, but her vision for the shop differs greatly to that of her niece. Like all the other shop owners and managers Ebony is dead set against the ball. Sadie has always longed to see inside the castle because it was where her parents first met. Scarlett persuades Sadie it is okay to go whilst Ebony is away on business trip. No one will know - it is a masquerade after all!
I was whisked away to a happy place whilst I read this book. It is a hug in a book and had me smiling throughout, humming “Once Upon a Dream”, searching for Sadie’s happy ending and enjoying the journey.
This is a really sweet book. Escapist in many ways, it does also tackle important and painful themes such as bereavement, controlling families and loss.
Definitely recommend.
Loved the community on Ever After street. I really enjoyed this cute romantic easy read. Prefect for a summers afternoon
This was the book that I just needed to read right now. What a sweet, lovely and romantic story. I love Jaimie's books and this one is one of my favourites of hers. I so admired Sadie's integrity and passion for her work and Ever After Street. Witt was so adorable. I appreciated all the Disney references and I really with that Ever After Street was a real place. A must read for anybody who loves a happily ever after ending.
