Need a palate cleanser that is quick, cute, fun, and full of romantic adventure? Look ๐ no further - I read this one in a few hours ๐๐ผ
Anyone else obsessed with Harrison Ford - aka Dr. Jones aka Indi? ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ Add in a feisty, yet brilliant photographer / adventurer FMC and you have Love Quest.
Winter signs up for a photography expedition in Thailand, always jet setting to the next location no matter the mileage. Used to being the only female on many excursions, the instant disdain for Dr. Spencer (hot professor / archaeologist) comes at a full head even before the trekking begins.
All of Dr. Logan Spencerโs dreams of finding one of the oldest mythological cities in Thailandโs history could actually turn into a reality. But this grumpy leader is having his entire world shaken up with the arrival of the bombshell photographer. Will they even make it to the lost city before tearing each other apart?

okay i dont care if their romance was cliche or unrealistic I loved it. I didn't expect there to be action which was a present surprise, and I loved the setting
i just wish Logan wasn't misogynistic in the beginning, i feel there were other ways to make it enemies to lovers without him being a jerk

I love all the quest books recently. Unfortunately, they are always predictable to me BUT I don't think that makes it any less interesting and this one was fun and quick!

well, actually I love good adventurous book with the hints of archeological sites and stuff so yeah I LOVED this book so much.
This tale was more to me than just your typical rom com, it was packed full of just the right amount of action and adventure.
But it should have been great if thereโs more to know about the characters. Because in the love Theorem yeah, we get to know whose winter is but about Logan, I wanted to know more. All the things put aside, I enjoyed the humor, banter Camila added into this novel.
I know weโre supposed to talk about Winter and Logan. But can we please take a minute for Archie. Him and his Viking looks! Can I get him more in future books please? AHHHHH I loved Him!
Winter is strong and independent and I loved how she never backed out, being the only woman on camp. Thereโs my favorite tropes in a one go in this book: grumpy x sunshine, enemies to lovers and forced proximity. The twists and turns kept me on edge and had me constantly wanting more. Love Quest has a really strong balance between characters and plot.
So overall this book was an entertaining one.

So, I grew up watching Indiana Jones and The Mummy and I am FOREVER looking for books that embody similar vibes hence why I was practically frothing at the mouth to read this one!
While it was off to a relatively strong start, I ended up feeling kind of eh about it. It was a fun, quick read and slightly predictable but thatโs not necessarily a bad thing! It just gave me a sense of foreboding rather than shock and surprise at the twist!
While I initially enjoyed this book, I did feel like there I had missed something and was reading a sequel given the amount of page time dedicated to the whole thing with her bestie and her sister. Not just casual mentions either, it was mentioned so much and with such detail that I really thought Iโd missed something. As it turns out, there IS another book though theyโre supposed to be standalones itโs just I had that feeling so much when you pick up a sequel without reading the first book and youโre very confused, especially with all the name drops like am I supposed to know who these characters are?
Given Winterโs vehemence towards her sister she gets over it pretty quickly but then things do tend to be resolved quickly and easily in this book which again, isnโt necessarily a bad thing but I did feel some things were rushed or far too coincidental.
The ending, for example, felt very rushed and I didnโt feel the tension at all given how everything always easily worked out. I didnโt feel on edge when they were in danger because I knew it would all be good in the end and I wouldnโt say it was true enemies to lovers really?
I didnโt feel any tension they just childishly needled each other and Winter went out of her way to purposefully antagonise the male lead and vice versa. As such it ended up being quite overdramatic and ridiculous at points.
Like the end, she knew she overreacted and was stupid for not letting him speak which seems a move to try and add tension but it didnโt really work because it was just ridiculous at that point, then thereโs the dramatic reunion purely thanks to more coincidences and over sharing with strangers and she doesnโt even admit sheโs wrong sheโs like โyes you were an ass but Iโm perfectionโ.
Winter honestly started to grate on me, like yes sheโs badass but the way she overreacts grew tiring quite quickly and the only likeable characters were support characters like Tucker and Archie.

Super travel/romantic comedy!! I loved it so much! It is romantic and sassy, full of adventure and such fun to read.. Wonderful characters! So enjoyed it...

2.5 rounded down
Unfortunately, this book was a struggle to get through and, ultimately, was not one that I enjoyed for a variety of reasons. While I very much enjoyed the author's previous novel, The Love Theorem, this one hit different, and not in a good way.ย
I'll say that some people may really enjoy this book. The ideas were there. The FMC, Winter, is a world famous photographer who immediately creates an enemies to lovers situationย with the MMC, Logan. Their quest? To find a lost city of gold in the Thai jungle. There's action, there's adventure, and there's romance. So to some, this might really be something that you enjoy.
I was not that person. I found that while the ideas were there, the execution was lacking. The FMC was extremely immature for someone that is supposed to be an expert in her field. And right away, Logan was very misogynisticย from the beginning that I just couldn't get over. Theย way he viewed Winter and judged her for being a woman? No thanks. The dialogue was underwhelming. The romance felt sudden, especially the aforementionedย misogyny. Overall, the main characters, the ones that were supposed to be in love, actually gave me the ick.
What was supposed to be a light, cute, enemies to lovers romance became, for me, a book I just didn't want to keep reading due to the execution of the story and the actual characters themselves.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Wow, wow, wow!!! This story was amazing.
I loved every word from the start to end.
The adventure element kept me engaged and was super enjoyable.
Loved all the characters, especially the main too.
And what an ending. Wish a guy would do that for me.
I was curious if Indiana Jones would be mentioned and it was in great style.
I will look forward to reading more from this wonderful writter.
A huge thanks to Netgally, the author and publisher for letting me read this ARC I greatly appreciate it.
Highly recommended. It was beyond the page and if I could give more then 5 stars I would.

After reading the first book in this series, I was so excited to be granted this ARC! In Love Quest, Winter is part of a team who is in Thailand looking for a lost city. As the photographer, she has encountered many dangerous situations and rough terrain before, but her team leader Logan canโt see past her looks and sass and doesnโt think she will make it through the expedition. Logan and Winter must work together when danger arises and it is up to them to save the team and the discovery of a lifetime!
Winter is a great example of the independent woman who can hold her own with a group of men. She is intelligent and can take care of herself. She was and still is a great friend to Lana, which is why I was so glad she got her own story.
The danger scenes were a great addition to the story! I loved that it wasnโt just a straight rom com but that there was some action scenes as well.
The only downside was that I feel like Winter and Logan fell in love way too fast, but could be believable in their situation I guess. I would never let it deter me from reading the book or the next!
Thanks to NetGalley and BoldWood Books for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Love quest (originally titled from Thailand with love) follows winter, a photographer and logan, an archaeologist on their adventure to locate the lost city of gold. I'm a huge Indiana Jones and the mummy fan, so I really enjoyed this book, hence the 4 stars.
These two are basically Rick and Evelyn. The enemies to lovers, the woman who can handle herself and the guy who underestimates her. The chemistry was definitely there. Plus, the author writes some amazing meet cutes.
Camilla does a great job of writing an interesting plot and a romance without it feeling like one is getting lost to the other. I really appreciated the focus on them taking safety seriously in the jungle even if they did kind of skip that for a spice scene in the river later on.
As I said in my review for the love theorem these are technically standalones but you'll understand the backstory a lot more if you read them in order and they are listed as a series under the original names.
Also, when I saw Summer had a book in the original series, I was dead set against reading it, but this one has actually convinced me she might be redeemable, and I can't wait to check it out. Especially if certain side characters from this book make an appearance.
I received anย advance review copy of this book, and this review represents my honest opinion. Thank you to netgalley, Camilla Isley, and the publisher for the opportunity to read the book.
Review posted to goodreads and storygraph. Will be posted to amazon on release day

This book gave me some serious tomb raider vibes.
Logan Spencer with his team is on his way to find the โLost City of Goldโ in Thailand. Winter Knowles is their hired photographer and the only woman on the team.
I loved Winter Knowles. She's that kind of woman who doesn't take no one's shit. She really had everyone who doubted her eat their own words up.
I didn't really like Dr. Logan Spencer. He was a bit sexist and an hypocrite to the T. I mean he thought that the members of his team would start thinking with their dicks in the presence of a woman, as if he didn't do the exact thing??
Tropes: grumpy - sunshine, forced proximity, hate to love.
This book is a re-edition of โFrom Thailand with Loveโ so if you've already read it then skip the book to the part where Winter returns to LA which is in the last chapter and the new epilogue.

Going into this book, I thought it would be a cute, fun rom-com, but after the unnecessary thriller twists and very unlikeable hero, I stand corrected. This follows Winter, a photographer hired to work on a jungle expedition with a less-than-pleasant Dr. Logan Spencer. What really rubbed me the wrong way is how the hero Logan talks about Winter and women in general. "Done wrong" by an old ex, Logan has made it his mission to detest women in the workplace for no reason besides.... misogyny. Did he and his also slimy friends ever redeem themselves? No.

Definite Lara Croft and Indiana Jones vibes, such a mad, vibrant paced book. I loved it. It bounced around d in the jungle between golden caches and lush vegetation. Vicious and lush flora and fauna and a good dose of fun and sarcasm. If you want a bit of cheering up, some romance and a 6 pack - get this book!

At first, I was interested because the description said it's rom-com with adventure things in it. I can imagine love story between grumpy man and sassy woman in it.
This book tried to uncover "untouched" city in Thailand, through their adventure story. I am quite enjoy their journey, especially when they're trapped in some "dark place".
I love the concept/premise of the story. I also love the banter between Logan and Winter. However, the way they fall in love each other is feel unnatural. And I find it too fast.
Overall I enjoy the book. It's kind of light and funny book. I can't wait Camilla's future books.
Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for the Arc!

This was a fun quote read made to bring a fun little romance into an Indiana Jones like adventure!
This was quiet and made me laugh at times, but it wasnโt really anything to write home about. The adventure story and the idea of uncovering an untouched city in Thailand wilderness was certainly something that appealed to my adventurous heart, but the love story here felt very out of place and didnโt feel natural. The chemistry between the two characters just wasnโt really there.
They transitioned from โenemiesโ to being โin loveโ without any real connection or emotionally development. It felt very shallow and young in a way. And they would be in these insane life threatening scenarios but be thinking about the other one naked. It just didnโt make much sense to me.
Overall, not really a great read for me.

Thank you to Net Galley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read Love Quest by Camilla Isley! This book was a hit or miss for me, but it did give me ALL the Indiana Jones/Lara Croft vibes which was fun! Going to be 3 out of 5 stars for me โ I wouldnโt actively seek it out to read again, but I enjoyed it enough to not regret reading it.
If you are looking for a very simple and romantic read then this is right up your alley. I loved the enemies to aspect lovers of the story, and I loved how Isley depicted Winter. She was a bombshell beauty, but she was also an actual boss babe. I just wish there was more depth to their adventure and their romance. It all felt rushed and skimmed over to me almost like it was a summary version of the whole story.

Please see below my review posted to Goodreads, I have also included a link to a TikTok i've posted. This book will also feature in at least 3 other TikToks, my monthly reading wrap up, release date video and ARCs i've read recently.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for an honest review. Let me tell you this was a strong 4โญ๏ธ from me. I read it in one night, which if you know me you know this is pretty quick in my little world.
This tale was more to me than just your typical rom com, it was packed full of just the right amount of action and adventure. Camilla took us on our journey with these characters, and for that I applaud her.
The only reason this wasnโt a 5โญ๏ธ for me personally was I wanted more. I wanted just that little more depth and found myself needing to know more about these characters. I wanted those couple of extra moments that made me think wow.
I enjoyed the humour she added into this novel, and the monkey scene she opened with had me chuckling away to myself. She opened with a bang and I instantly knew it was going to be a very likeable story for me.
I know weโre supposed to talk about Winter and Logan. But can we please take a minute for Archie. Him and his Viking looks and ways were a stand out for me, and Iโd love to see more. (Second book please?) I found him extremely likeable and his teasing relationship with both Logan and Winter had me falling in love with him.
Camilla excelled in the strong independent woman vibes with Winter and I was living for it. I loved how she never backed out, and being the only woman on camp she gave them all a run for her money. Absolutely loved her! Logan to me was okay, he was a bit too much for me personally but I know others will love him. I just wanted to like him more than I did.
The tropes had me completely in love. My favourite tropes are grumpy x sunshine, enemies to lovers and one bed. This gave them all, and I couldnโt have been more grateful. All Iโm saying is TENT SCENE!
The twists and turns kept me on edge and had me constantly wanting more. A really strong balance between characters and plot, which is very commendable as you donโt see it often!
Overall this book was a lot of laughs and I found it really entertaining, this was the first book Iโve read by Camilla and I definitely want to read more!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC.
This book was a STRUGGLE to get through.
I thought the premise was cute, but the writing style was definitely not what I expected. The dialogue felt so unnatural. The blurb mentions the book being perfect for fans of Ali Hazelwood, but, personally, I did not see any similarities to Ali Hazelwood's books.
Winter seemed nice, but I could not stand Logan or his friends. The way they spoke about women, and interacted with Winter at the beginning of the book, was so off-putting. After that, I knew I was not going to like where the story was going. Can we please stop excusing misogynistic behavior from male characters by blaming the enemies-to-lovers trope? The main characters can still be enemies without making the male character a complete jerk to women.
In my opinion, Logan definitely did not have any redeeming qualities or make up for his behavior at any point throughout the book.
Overall, this was so disappointing. The two stars are for Winter and the story's concept, but other than that, I was not a fan.

It lost me at the mc hating women in the workplace...like I'm supposed to like this guy after his couple paragraph rant about working with women? No thanks

Book was easy, cute and fun. I did enjoy it. The epilogue made the relationship seem a little rushed, and some of the language seemed more like British English which threw me off and this is why I rated lower. Full review on instagram, booknerdysam
