2/5 stars! This book started out with promise. Marina and Lucas seem to be set up as a rivals-to-lovers arc. I did not like Marina. She is a fussy, stuck up lady, who is so anti-swearing she makes a big deal about it. F*ck that! She also has no spine. Like she comes off as a clingy ex rather than as a self-respecting woman. That's not a romance to me.

This one sounded so good but for some reason I just could not get into this one. I struggled to connect with the main character and I just didn't have any motivation to pick it up again.

I'm gutted but it happens!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Definitely recommending to those who love romances that sweep you off your feet. And, Dealbreakers, is one for the records, plus, Lucas, is definitely a keeper too!

Really enjoyed this sassy rom-com. Lucas is a gorgeous leading man with hidden depths and I loved the friendship between Marina and her 2 best friends.

A book that is full of characters that I adored. They felt so down to Earth and that have so much emotion that it was very easy to connect with them.
A fun romcom with rivals to lovers. One of my favourite tropes and I think Lauren did it so well.

Can't put this book off at all - love it!!! The idea of this app is very clever and I wish there was such app that exists in real life. The only negative point is - this book could be longer - I think there is a bit of a rush between the protagonists getting together - their spark could also be greater in this relationship.

I loved this one ! It started off strong and just kept getitng better! I loved the banter between Lucas and Marina in particular. The ‘dates’ were brilliant ! I could have easily read this book in one sitting if I’d have had the time! Once you started reading it was so hard to stop! The chapters and story just flowed so naturally and pulled you along with them. This was not only a great rom-com but a story of realising sometimes what you plan is not always what’s best.

And if that still hasn’t convinced you this is a good book what more could you want from a romance then a whitty Irishman and fake dates!

This was a great read and I would definitely recommend.

A fun read, the story of Marina and Lucas. They are work enemies forced to spend time together on a work assignment. As they get to know each other will Marina realise that her checklist for Mr Right may need changing?

Noticed some inconsistencies in characterisation and wasn’t particularly engrossed in the story, unfortunately.

I was attracted to this book by the blurb but by the time I got round to reading I’d forgotten what it was about. Having just read a book steeped in history, it felt a little simplistic - so I nearly abandoned it at the start when Marina was wallowing. I’m so glad I didn’t!

I loved the main characters - especially Marina’s gorgeous nemesis Lucas - and the supporting cast of her girlfriends from home and work.

This book was fun with a capital F. I lost my worries in Marina and Lucas’ battles and really enjoyed it. There are multiple layers to this book - particularly how to deal with it when life doesn’t go your way.

highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a bit of fun and want to put your worries to one side for a couple of hours !

The premise of Dealbreakers is just so modern and cool. An app overlay that allows women to weed out the bad and give badges to the good eggs? Awesome!

I loved that Marina is a coder and super tech savvy, but still so cool and feminine. I loved her friends, her workplace was quirky and cool, and her Dad was the best. When Lucas appeared and the competition began, I was hooked!

The rivalry between Rina and Lucas is funny! I loved the slow burning will they, won't they. Sexy as anything, but so compelling, as I genuinely had no idea which way it would go. I was invested, so invested.

This is one of the most unique, warm, witty, and charming books I've ever read. But it's not all sugary, sweet. There's plenty of tension and Hest as well. This book has it all! I loved it!

A lovely enemies-to-lovers workplace romance with an imaginative and fun premise. I love that Marina has autonomy and power in her life before the man comes along - she designs an inspired app for consolidating and reviewing men on dating apps, which is a super good idea in real life as well as in fiction. Recommended for a holiday read, especially if you like handsome love interests!

Who doesn’t love the appeal of a cheeky bad boy Irishman!? And Marina is his opposite but their office hate / competitiveness leads to forced proximity in practically going on dates together. The scene setting of these dates provides fun and humour and the romance to build. Whilst there were some characters that were hateful (Marina’s mum and ex) and some were fascinating (Marina’s friends / work colleagues) there just wasn’t much about them and occasionally the book felt as though whole pages or paragraphs had been edited out.
With all that, it was a super fast read and with an HEA the book is a solid 4stars!

3.75 stars, not quite a 4 star for me!

Although short, Lauren Forsythe wrote everything that was needed in a romance book. A lot of romance books are far too long and if you want a short enemies to lovers with likeable characters then this one is for you. I really liked how Lucas was the opposite of what Marina thought was the perfect man for her and the future she thought she wanted, and the fact that she liked him so much she could step away from that and have so much character growth over it too was such a breath of fresh air from some other romances. Lucas was the perfect male love interest for Marina and he was the perfect level of cocky and funny for me. The only thing that put me off was the amount of times her called her 'love' - this is fine a few times but yes I know he's Irish but it was over the top. The only other thing that brought it down for me is the scene where it was insinuated they did the deed the first time, I thought I was missing a page because it didn't seem to insinuate it well and then it was done. There's fade to black and then there's whatever happened in this one, me - confused!

I'm so thankful I was able to read this early, thank you to Netgalley and Piatkus for the e-arc.

Would be a cute little summer read for someone but wasn’t exactly my taste. A few funny one liners but I found the dialogue a bit stiff in some places, and there was a lot of repetitive sayings and reiterations.
