“They say time stops at nothing. I saw time stopped when I met her.”

BostonLifer + SaarasLove are simply destined to be together…their match percentage proved it. But their roads took different directions…until fate brought them back together.

I am a HUGE fan of Marni Mann’s writing, and am obsessed with the way she writes her MMCs. They’re the perfect balance of alpha, obsessive, & tender. And Easton is right in line with his predecessors (The Dalton crew & men of The Agency)!! Easton is literally consumed by Drake…and she is such a wonderfully balanced FMC. Gentle - Confident - Carefree…I want to be her when I grow up!

A wonderful intro to this new series, and am absolutely looking forward to seeing who snags Holden’s heart & who is able to put Grayson in his place (as well as break that quasi-grump thing he has going on!)!
Don’t waste a moment…dive into the Hooked world too! 🪝🪝

“But she was here. Now. And I was promising myself one thing — I wasn’t going to let her go.”

Page Count ~ 322 (38 chapters p+e)
Audio length ~ 8 hours
Narrators ~ Alexander Cendese, Meg Sylvan

Easton/Mr. Boston & Drake/Love
The first part is strictly in Easton's POV. He's one of 3 founders of the app for hooking up called Hooked. He matches 100% with Saaralove, which is unheard of. They meet up, and hook up, but they're both wearing masks so they have no clue what each other looks like. They text back and forth for a while, but never get the chance to meet up again. Until we flash forward 5 1/2 years and they're in each other's lives again, but neither knows who the other is.

I've got another book boyfriend to add to my list! Easton was perfect from beginning to end. A sweet, caring alpha that'll sizzle your socks right off.

I didn't love Drake at first, but I easily warmed up to her as her story unfolded and the reasoning for earlier things became clear.

There is a conflict, but can I get a whoop whoop for no 3rd act breakup? So refreshing! And what Easton did to resolve the conflict was everything.

Overall, a wonderful start to a new series. I can already see how Holden and Grayson's stories are going to be just as great!

It's been so long since I've read an anonymous text trope and man have I missed it! Drake and Easton have amazing chemistry and heat from their messages alone that when they finally meet I'm obsessed with them. Their thoughts and how they tried to figure out how they knew each other was fantastic.

The external conflict came out of nowhere to me but I loved it, it was perfectly executed and helped prevent a third act breakup. I loved how this book was set up in it'd entirety, and can't wait to see where this series goes next!

First of all, I loved that this story was set in Boston since my very first Marni Mann book was too. I liked seeing a start up technology company headquartered there instead of the obvious New York or California locations.

Second, can Easton Jones be any dreamier? He’s just. . . WOW. I have no words to adequately describe this man.

And let’s talk about Drake Madden, the MIT graduate, the technology wiz. A brilliant, gorgeous woman. Probably one of my favorite female main characters.

Part 1 of this story takes us thru Easton and Drake’s initial meeting via his new dating application, Hooked, where they don’t even know each other’s names but they match at 100%. They have one actual “hook up.” Share a bunch of text messages. But then she disappears and he’s heartbroken.

Part 2 is when they meet again over 5 years later when Easton becomes Drake’s boss but they initially don’t know it’s a reunion (their only previous hookup was at a masked event) so that reveal takes a bit - otherwise this story is pretty fast paced. There are plenty of steamy scenes (because it’s Marni and no one does intense, sexy storylines better) and Easton definitely sets the bar for book boyfriends.

I was completely intrigued with the secondary characters. Drake has a best friend Saara that I already adore. She gives her bestie great advice and is a loyal confidant. I also already love Grayson and Holden, Easton’s best friends and partners, and can’t wait for their books!

Oh, and thank you Marni for the mentions of our favorite family of lawyers. IYKYK. Perfect!

Marni Mann can write anything and I’m going to read it - Mr. Hook-Up is the first in a brand new series about college buddies who write code for and market brand new software for a hook-up app.

Easton is the first and only person to get a 100% match, with a girl named SaarasLove, who he meets at the masquerade cocktail party launch for the party, they have their hook-up, as the app is made for, and they go their separate ways when they can’t find a way to stay in the same place after graduation.

Years later they happen to come across each other and discover who each other is in a very unusual situation - trying to determine if the chemistry they had from all of their app chatting years ago is worth pursuing again and potentially causing them problems now.

Another brilliant, steamy, unique story from Marni Mann that everyone needs to read! An absolute recommendation from me!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Montlake, and this is my honest feedback.

I see that Easton and Drake are going to introduce us to the east coast crew to rival the Dalton family, and I’m not mad about that at all! These two may seem a bit instalove, or instalust, but there’s also something more. Maybe a familiarity. Or a memory. Or just a sense of rightness? They’re not sure, but it sure seems like they’re going to find out!

Along the way, these two communicate wonderfully. They’re mature, open, honest, and have each other’s back when it’s 100% important to do so, and also earn the loyalty of everyone important on both sides of the relationship. Even when it seems like all might be lost, the refusal to believe the unbelievable is a thing of beauty. Add some spite, underhanded tricks, and a swift comeuppance for someone, and I’m looking forward to seeing the next Hooked bachelor fall!

Marni just doesn't miss! A second chance, office romance? SPICY?? YES please and thank you so much.

There is just something about Marnis writing that flows so naturally. I open her book, blink, and it's over! She writes the most binge worthy romance out there, and I cannot get enough.

When Easton thought of developing this app he never thought he would find his forever. What he was looking for was that one-night stand, no strings, no feelings, no relationship. But what he found was someone he couldn’t get enough of. Someone who was always on his mind. Someone more than a one-night fling. When “Love” and he were 100% compatible he thought there was some mistake. No mistake, they truly were perfect for each other.
Now 5 years later he has never forgotten her. When he meets Drake he cannot explain the connection he feels towards her. She seems so familiar. The feelings he has towards her are too much to ignore. The bond they share he cannot understand. Why is Drake so different that anyone else. Anyone except “Love”. What makes her so special. The trust these two have for each other is what soulmates are all about.
The Hook-Up is the first book in a new series and what a beginning it is. The chemistry between Drake and Easton is explosive inside the bedroom as well as outside. Bring on Book 2. Ready for more fireworks.

Easton and his friends create an app geared solely toward one night stands. When he gets a perfect match with Drake, he’s in for the time of his life. I loved Drake! She’s fiesty and her chemistry matched beautifully with Easton who was very dreamy.

The friend group of the app creator team (aka the other two guys who will hopefully get books) was a real asset. They brought in a lot of depth and humor to the story.

The book being broken in to two parts was a bit weird from a book flow perspective. I also found some of the plot to be predictable.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Marni Mann's books have been giving me life lately! I loved most of the books from the Dalton Brothers series and I am SO excited to be reading Easton's book now!

Workplace romance
Second chance romance
Billionaire
Forced Proximity

After creating a hook up app and anonymously meeting the girl of his dreams, Easton loses her before things even get a real chance. They scored extremely high on the capability test and Easton knows that she is the girl for him. They meet up at a masked ball and have a one night stand. And they don't even exchange names so they don't know who each other is. And she disappears without a trace for years.

Fast forward a few years - Easton is Drake's new boss. And their chemistry is FIRE! Once they realize who they are to each other, things get fiery and complicated and I loved it.

These characters were amazing and the author sets us up for other books in this series and I can't wait!

This is my second book by the author. When Ashes Fall absolutely gutted me and I guess I expected the same from this one and Mr. Hook-up is not that book. I did, however, enjoy the push and pull, the mystery of who Love was. The story is well written and has some pretty amazing spice--actually a whole lot of amazing spice so if that is what you are looking for, look no further. The story didn't have the "hook" I expected but did have some outside drama that shook things up a bit. In the end, it is a romance with an HEA. 3.5 stars

This is the first book in the new standalone series, Hooked, where each book will (I think) be focused on the creators of a new hook-up app.

I'll be honest, I am struggling with my rating of this one. On one hand I enjoyed the overall story and the characters, but at the same time I found it to be predictable and lacked the angst I typically love in books. I have only read one other book by Marni Mann and she writes some of my favorite spicy scenes.
Overall I am going to say I enjoyed this one enough to recommend it to anyone looking for a lighter, second chance, workplace romance rec.

Wow, wow, wow. Marni Mann did it again and bring me with her and this new book. This is only my second book writing by her but I'm ready to dive in her backlist, becasue this one was absolutely great.

I would have loved to read so much more of them, I mean, I couldn't get enough of them.

Drake and Easton were just incredibly perfect. They have this strong, pull, connection, chemistry between them. It was like two magnets who were attracted to one another.

My heart fluttered more and more in my chest while I read their story, I really was so into deep with them and I freaking loved that feeling.

It was sensual, passionate and what they shared was something so beautiful, so powerful.

I totally recommend it. Prepared yourself to fall in love with Drake, but mostly Easton ♥.

This book should come with a warning, do not start it if you have anything else you need to do, like work, eat, sleep… I thought I would start this one and read a couple of chapters and then head to bed, but the next thing I knew it was 3AM and I was a third of the way through!!

Easton’s story is one of my favorite tropes, it’s a second chance for him to be a part of something different and real. The story is just so good I’m not going to give you more than that, I don’t need to, because once you pick this one up you are not going to be able put it down!

Mr HookUp is filled with everything we love, Marni knows what she’s doing, she knows when we need to laugh l, when we need to swoon, and even when we need to blush a little or maybe even a lot ☺️. Do not miss out on this new series, I promise you are going to get Hooked!

I love Marni Mann’s writing and I was excited to hear she had a new series about three friends Easton, Holden and Grayson coming. Mr Hook-Up is Easton Jones and Drake Madden’s journey and it’s the first book in the Hooked Series. If this book is anything to go by Ms Mann will certainly have another hit series on her hands.
This group of friends have created a dating app and it’s while testing that Easton ( user Mr. Boston) and user Saaraslove aka Love have a 100% match but after one meeting she disappeared. Five years on Easton and Drake are having he time of their lives, the chemistry is hot and it looks like love is in the air until Love reappears……
So who will Easton choose, one click to find out.
This book ticked all my boxes, I swooned, I smiled, I fell hard and fast for Easton and I was kept on the edge of my seat waiting to see who he would choose. Looking forward to what’s to come from the men of Hooked.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley

They have great banter between them and they very hot and heavy! But they are forced part, and this their second chance to make through. I enjoyed the how both main characters I am excited to see where the series goes from! I want to know more about Grayson, Holden and David! I enjoyed the little Easter Egg from the Dalton Brother series. Thank you for the arc!

Well my goodness this is pornnny. The books premise is that the creator of a hookup app with no strings attached gives you a percent match about how perfect you will be together. A bizarre happenstance happens where the creator joins the app and receives a 100% match and what happens when they meet is explosive in every aspect . This insta everything works so well. There's a bunch of twists and surprises I won't ruin but it was adorable and this better become a series!!!

“If my past had taught me anything, it was that no matter what, you didn’t let go. You fought.”

4.5⭐️ I promise this book will have you hooked. It was swoony, sweet and of course spicy. Easton and Drake hit it off immediately on a dating app Easton and his best friends created, getting a 100% match. They never knew each other's names and only had one hot night together. When life continued to be hectic for them both they were never able to see each other again and Drake disappeared. Five years later Easton’s dating app is #1 and finds himself having a connection with their new recruit and he hasn’t felt that in a long time. I loved these two together, their connection was so good. I loved how honest they were with each other at all times. It was so refreshing to read a couple who had great communication and always stuck by each other’s sides. Easton is the perfect book boyfriend. He is so freaking swoony and will do anything and I mean ANYTHING for his girl I swear. He had me melting in a puddle and falling in love with him. Drake is independent and strong and I loved her character! They truly had that soulmate love!

DNF @20 % ish.
I've a couple of books by this author on my tbr. This one convinced me by the blurb. Unfortunately, given that it was mainly written through text messages I just didn't feel the connection between the characters even when they met (but were masked) in person.
