Pretty Little Mistake is a second chance romance, with an accidental pregnancy twist. Full disclosure, it is not my favorite storyline and trope but I ended up enjoying this one. I liked the story of Beckham and Lennon although so much could have been handled with just some actual conversation. I liked learning about the characters and the chemistry was just off the charts. I think the pregnancy was handled well, especially the complication. I enjoyed the book and it was a fairly quick read as well.

no because how have I found myself liking TWO accidental pregnancy books in under a month ??? this was just so fckn adorable and made me realize I need to try this trope more. the way Beckham immediately jumped into his role and a future dad and didn’t let his fears stand in the way of that role was so cute. and when he eventually let himself open up fully to Lennon, my heart was overjoyed. the spice SPICED which was such a treat and I laughed a bunch was is always a bonus.

Review:
I love a good typical boy meets girl falls in love with girl, and they live happily ever after, but that’s just not what this is. Yes boy and girl do meet and fall for each other, though suddenly, after having sex boy never speaks to girl again the problem is that he was also best friends with her brother and suddenly wasn’t around. He broke her heart, and she never saw him again until she walked into her new job, and he just happened to be the photographer, though he went by the name Sully. Lennon is shocked when she sees him and he’s shocked by her but he’s also very rude And tries to keep his distance from her however, their boss pairs them up for a special project. That special project leads to them taking a trip together and they hook up and the time they hook up she gets pregnant so now they’re forced to figure out how they’re going to do this, and if they want to do this. Both come from very prominent families and Lennon’s family cares way too much about what everyone around them will think. While Sulli/Beckham, who was adopted, only cares about Lennon and what she wants. There are so many great lines in this book that had me laughing and I will never not think of Pet Sperm when seeing a pregnant lady.

4.5 “she’s carrying my pet sperm” I was cackling!

I got this arc in 2 separate forms and I am so terribly behind in all of my reading that I just now got around to it. The enemies to lovers/second chance romance is probably one of my favorite combination of tropes. The banter was witty and hilarious and had me laughing multiple times.

Lennon and Beckham might be one of my favorite couples. They learned to overcome their fears about trusting each other again all while preparing for an unexpected child. Also the whole he falls first thing? Dead. Beckham was so sweet once he finally gave in to his feelings. Thank you Netgalley, Montlake and Micalea Smeltzer for the ARC!

Pretty Little Mistake by Micalea Smeltzer

Many tropes but mainly first love lost and found again with Beckham and Lennon once neighbors now work colleagues navigating past hurts to find a happily ever after over unexpected pregnancy. That’s it in a nutshell.

I knew that starting to read a book at 11pm was probably NOT the wisest thing to do but thought perhaps it would not be great and I would decide to DNF early only to find the electricity cut at 2am then reading on another half hour and finally realizing there were 100 pages left to read and deciding I should get some sleep.

Lennon and Beckham met when Beckham was adopted by Lennon’s neighbors and her brother became BFF with him. They spent time together, admired one another, and eventually were one another’s first loves…only to have that end in a rather hurtful way.

They meet again when Lennon is hired by REAL POINT publication where Beckham, now Sulli, works as a photographer. Over the years they have both grown but also have chips on their shoulders with unresolved “feelings” lingering. business trip to Chicago sees them reconnecting, at least on a physical level, and though they were careful there is a “pretty little mistake” that will show up nine months later. They do seem to handle the co-parenting idea well and with maturity while keeping their relationship a non-relationship, sort of.

The terseness and tension continue for a while but softens as time goes by and they eventually do find their way to a HEA ending. Before that can happen, though, there are family issues to deal with, early history to wade through, their current situation and where it will go to contemplate, and medical issues to deal with.

This was a well written story that spans years but glossing over the early years while focusing on the current situation the two find themselves in. I would have liked to know more about both of their earlier years as it might have fleshed out both characters and what drew them together originally and then later.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I loved this book. Even though they kind of started as enemies, I enjoyed seeing them grow and build a friendship before having a relationship. I would definitely pick up other books by this author.

Sweet story

“Pretty Little Mistake” is a standalone second chance romance by Micaela Smeltzer and tells the story of Lennon and Beckham.

Lennon and Beckham have known each other since they were teenagers and were once everything to each other - until Beckham saw her one day and left her without a word and she never found out what the reason was.

Years later, when Lennon got her dream job at a New York fashion magazine, she didn't expect to have to face Beckham.

Admittedly, it took me a few pages to get into the story, but once I was in the story, I just loved it.

I really liked them both. Nobody gives anything to the other. The tension between them was palpable and it was really crackling!

My favorite scenes were actually with a fat, fluffy and cuddly cat 🐈

“Pretty Little Mistake” gets 4 out of 5 stars from me.

Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

Unpopular opinion but I absolutely love the accidental pregnancy trope and that was 100% why I picked up this book.
I have read the Wildflower duet by Michalea Smeltzer and I found that series to be pretty meh, and this book, whilst being a lot better than that series, was still pretty average in comparison to other books I have read recently.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between Beckham and Lennon, and there were so many scenes that were so cute and soft between them, but those scenes were so few and far between that I could never truly connect or fall in love with their relationship.
I also found the writing to drag a lot. Not a lot happens in this book which I didn't mind because I do love a book that is more vibe than plot sometimes, but this book would have been so much more entertaining if the writing was a little more fast paced and I didn't feel like I was forcing myself to get through some chapters.
This was a pretty solid read. Not my favourite book ever, but I am glad that I picked it up and it was a pretty good accidental pregnancy book which had all of those soft scenes that I love.

Very enjoyable! Loved the setting and how the story was very much character driven. Maybe it was a little predictable but it was a nice easy read

Lennon and Beckham (her brother’s best friend) see each other again and get a second chance at love.

A sweet grumpy, accidental pregnancy filled with teen angst, workplace romance, misunderstandings, and frenemies to lovers.
This was so good!
The banter between the characters was on point and hooked me the whole time.

Pretty Little Mistake by Micalea Smeltzer is the perfect childhood friends to enemies to lovers story. First, I will read anything from this author as she is incredible and the writing is always perfection. While accidental pregnancy is not one of my favorite tropes, it works in this book. The characters are fantastic and Beckham is my new favorite. I can't wait to read more from this author!

3/5

This book was my first Micalea Smeltzer book, and it was very cute!

It took a while for Lennon and Beckham to finally admit their feelings, but when they did, it felt so natural and real. The author really took their time to build up their relationship, and I appreciated that. And let's talk about the surprise pregnancy twist! Seeing Beckham all protective and stepping up was absolutely heart-melting.

All in all, this book had it all—funny banter, character growth, and a romance that hit all the right spots. I was totally invested in Lennon and Beckham's journey.

Really liked the premise.
However, I kept thinking something was missing. I was never fully invested.
I did like the writing style so I’m excited to see the next books this author writes!

What happens when the one person you thought you’d never see again waltzes back into your life? One scandalizing night in an emotional novel by a USA Today bestselling author. Lennon Wells and Beckham Sullivan should have been perfect for each other. Both vulnerable, both striving to please difficult families, and both broken by the past. Going from friends to lovers seemed inevitable. So did a bad ending. They thought—they hoped—they’d never see each other again. Years later, bad luck or fate, Lennon and Beckham find themselves working for the same magazine. The wounds are still raw, but the chemistry is there. Then they’re forced to work together on a project. Some things never change, and all it takes is one impetuous night. One mistake. And Lennon discovers she’s pregnant. With more in common than they ever had before, Lennon and Beckham are going to be in each other’s lives for a long time now, whether they like it or not. And they’re starting to. If only they can break from the generational traumas that hold tight and take a shot at something they never a second chance.

This was my first book by Micalea Smeltzer and it will not be my last. The writing was topnotch and just amazing. Will recommend to others.

"He really thinks he has nothing to offer. That he is nothing. He has no ide that once upon a time, he was my everything."

As I'm currently in my second trimester, I gotta say reading this book with the accidental pregnancy trope was my FAVORITE! If you know me, you know I'm a Micalea Smeltzer STAN and this book was just as wonderful as I hoped it would be! Beckham and Lennon were such a great relationship together, and the growth they both went through together throughout the story had me tearing up at times! I LOVED watching Beckham come into his own as a father, and his grumpy ways were just perfect beforehand!

Pretty Little Mistake was a fun and enjoyable read. I loved Lennon and Beckham.

Loved it! I'm not surprised. I haven't read a book of Micalea's that I didn't love.

There were so many sweet and swoony moments in this book, but I got teary-eyed when they became parents. Ugh, the moment you get to hold your baby for the first time. It was so perfect.

Beckham and Lennon had a lot of obstacles to overcome, and I was so happy that they did it together even though they weren't officially together.

Pretty Little Mistake was pure perfection!

p.s. Please tell me there is a book for Lauren and Crew.
