thank you NetGalley for my copy of Pretty Little Mistake!

i love micalea smeltzer’s writing, she makes stories that are so deeply captivating & this one was no exception.

pretty little mistake was a second chance, enemies to lovers, & another little surprise. i have always loved second chance & this was done very well because of the angst. i will say this book started the spice earlier than i expected but i think it matched the story very well.

lennon is starting at a magazine where coincidentally, her first love, beckham has been working as a photographer. their first chance at love was a friends to lovers, & since it all ended there was no contact. now seeing each other years later, there is still chemistry as they work on a project together.

i think my favorite component of this book was how they both dealt with their little “mistake” & how their relationship develops through this. lennon finds herself pregnant after one night & the way that this story moves on after, was so heartwarming, i loved it.

Pretty Little Mistake was a fast paced read that drew me in from the beginning.

I liked that the POV went back and forth between Lennon & Beckham. Their banter was also entertaining.

If you enjoy a surprise pregnancy, grump/sunshine, enemies to lovers, second chance romance then you will enjoy this one.

a solid romance that was an extremely easy and fast read! i will definitely be going back and reading some of the authors earlier work.

This was so cute! I love anything with a baby involved. I will say, quite unrealistic though but I still loved it. Beckham is a freaking GOD who can do no wrong LOL he was a dream of a man, All those back rubs and foot rubs. I think he could have been a little more flawed but whatever they were still cute. There wasn't a ton of drama or a major climax really... it was just of just a sweet story about them accidentally getting pregnant but then falling in love along the way. I really enjoyed this but probably need a little more depth and plot to recommend it to someone.

Thank you to the publisher and author for the ARC.

I should preface this by saying I am not a surprise pregnancy trope girl. At all. But if you're going to write one, this is how you do it. I went into this book with HIGH expectations because I recently read the Wildflower duet and loved it. This book did not let me down at all. Besides the surprise pregnancy trope it had all the tropes I'm always looking for: second chance romance, office romance, BANTER. You can't go wrong picking this book up. Loved it.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I have been enjoying this authors books lately so I was very excited to check this out!

This started off really well for me. I felt connected to the characters since the beginning. Second chance romance has been hitting right lately. The characters had great banter.

A trope is in this story that I’m not a fan of which took away from my overall enjoyment. There were also several triggers of mine that I wasn’t expecting. Unfortunately the book made me anxious at times. I think people will enjoy this book but I do recommend looking up specific triggers!

The book started off promising but then started to lose my interest about halfway through. There didn’t seem to be any tension in the story, and the narration was very repetitive, with the characters constantly monologuing and repeating their feelings and issues.. It was a very tell, not show, approach to the story.

I don’t usually love the accidental pregnancy trope but Michaela killed it! Would definitely recommend!!

Pretty Little Mistake by Micalea Smeltzer is a stand-alone romance and the story of Lennon and Beckham.

These two have known each other since they were teenagers, and they were high school sweethearts. But while it was everything for Lennon, Beckham just ended up leaving and never contacting her again. That was really sad to see and sadly I feel like the past aspect was almost forgotten at the end of the story and this is the only thing I didn’t like.

Lennon gets a job at an upcoming magazine, and she is over the moon about it. Only until she sees Beckham there and he is the photographer. Their story starts off with a hate-to-love aspect, but due to the workplace situation they must work together.

It slowly starts to change as they still have the hots for each other. The steamy scenes were really good, but what I liked most is what resulted from it. Lennon and Beckham truly must become a team and a family and that was amazing to see. The romance is just swoon worthy and heartwarming and I adore these two.

Overall, Pretty Little Mistake is such a sweet romance that I truly enjoyed. 4,5 stars.

This book was not at all what I expected it to be because the only other books I've read so far by Micalea Smeltzer were here Wildflowers Duet books and those were very much full of drama and they made me cry, they made me fell something.
Pretty Little Mistake was.... not that. I actually found it pretty boring after the half mark point.
Don't get me wrong, I like it if there's not unnecessary conflict in a relationship, if the couple isn't fighting about stupid stuff or breaking up because of nothing.
But also - where's the plot? Where was the conflict? There were some things going on with their families, mostly hers, but it didn't really do anything to bring either the story or the characters forward.
This book just wasn't for me I'd say, it just wasn't the type of romance I like to read and that's fine, if the book sounds interesting to you I'd honestly still would recommend picking it up.

Lennon and Beckham have a history and years later they find themselves working at the same magazine. They do their best to avoid each other at their work but they are made to work together on a project. They end up having sex and Lennon soon learns she is pregnant. They both have to work through their issues for the good of their baby. This story was so good and really kept me interested throughout. It was romantic, sad, deep. It kind of had it all for me. Loved it!

Ok Mrs smeltzer I'll forgive you for the surprise pregnancy trope because this story was beautifully. I love Beckham and Lennon. And the humorous banter was top tier

Thank you NetGallery for this ARC of Pretty Little Mistake!! It was a very cute enemies to lovers story and while I’m not the biggest fan of accidental pregnancies, the writing i’m this one made it worthwhile to continue reading! The banter between Lennon and Beckham was not bad, but the falling in love seemed to happen very quickly and there are still parts I feel that are missing from this story, which is why I took stars off. Overall, this was a cute dual POV book to read!!

Wait this was so cute 🥹

If you read The Confidence of Wildflowers by Smeltzer and want a similar story, this might not be for you, but I think this book showed the true range of her writing capabilities.

Surprise pregnancy is one of those tropes that is more miss than hit for me, but this one was so good 😭 I just want my own Beckham in my life (apologies to my fiancé but ITS TRUE). He was a little grumpy, kind of a dick, but also so sweet and thoughtful and SWOONY, not to mention how he is in the bedroom 👀🥵

The ending of this book was very very sugary sweet, which is nice, but I would have liked a little more conflict honestly (who am I??? I hate conflict!). Overall though, this was such a good read and I can’t wait to see what other books this author writes!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I've read books by Micalea Smeltzer before and really enjoyed them. 'Pretty Little Mistake' is an angsty, second-chance romance and follows the story of Lennon and Beckham. There was parts of this book that I found to be really emotional and there were also a few twists and turns along the way. On the whole it was a brilliantly written romance book and I would definitely recommend it.

I loved this book!
It had a bit of everything that I enjoy in the books I read. A little bit of enemies to lovers a lot of chemistry and a great relationship development between the two main characters. It does have an accidental pregnancy which is not my favorite trope but I pushed past this and enjoyed this will read this author more!

This was super cute. i love the premise of this book and I am now a new fan of this author as well! the best tropes and vibes in this book are second chance romance, office romance, surprise pregnancy (I honestly love this trope and its new for me!), in-depth on-page character development, and last but not least witty banter dished out by both MCs.
