I loved this book! After the wildflower books I was really excited to read Pretty Little Mistake and I don't regret it. I loved this office romance story and the characters. It was cute and funny. If you don't like reading about an unexpected pregnancy you might wanna skip this though.
Micalea Smeltzer is an amazing author. The Confidence of Wildflowers and The Resurrection of Wildflowers are two of my favorite books! I was so excited to read this following those two books. This book didn't disappoint. Given a second chance, the two main characters start fresh and the storyline is great. 100% recommend!
I loved this book! It had the perfect amount of love, hurt and spice! I was sucked in ans could not put this book down. I've already recommended this book to several friends!
Absolutely love this author! This book....I'm not sure what I can say besides amazing! I devoured it! Looking forward to more from this author.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% my own.
I couldn’t stop reading the first 2/3 of this book and I fully blame it for me being so tired the next day. However, I struggled to pick the pace back up again in the last third but I still thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Lennon and Beckham had a perfectly complex second chance romance mixed in with an accidental pregnancy. I feel like every trope was covered in this book, but it didn’t feel like overkill, unlike other books I’ve read.
I wish Lennon and beckhams first relationship when they were younger was explored more, including why they were forced apart and how they felt at the time. It’s covered slightly but I wish it had been a bit more in depth.
This book had me engrossed from the very beginning. The characters are clearly flawed but that makes them so lovable. The storytelling of their early relationship is detailed and sets up the rest of the story really well. There are several twists and turns which are well written and keep you invested in the outcome. Beckham's self-reflection and various realisations are charming. A super read.
This second chance romance with that special twist is such a sweet read! The banter is top notch between these characters and watching them navigate their newfound circumstances was a real treat. I loved reading this one and can't to read more by this author!
Love this book so much! It was so good. I loved this second chance pregnancy romance. It was so good!
I just reviewed Pretty Little Mistake by Micalea Smeltzer. #PrettyLittleMistake #NetGalley

I’m usually not into office romances, but this one definitely hooked me in right away. I love the unexpected pregnancy trope and it was written so well. Beckham was broody but he made me swoon and blush. I didn’t care for some of the side characters but all in all, this was a fun read!

5+!!
“I called Lennon a honeybee, and to me that’s what she was, but I never told her the rest, that I was the flower dependent on her for survival.”
Lennon comes from a family of privilege, and Beckham has learned to be guarded from growing up in foster care and being adopted.
They used to be best friends growing up, but both swore that they’d never see each other again — that is, until they ended up working at the same up-and-coming magazine company years later, with Beckham being the lead photographer, and Lennon being the newest hire for their team of writers.
Will these two be able to work in close proximity with each other as a pair on a project for the next several months without their past getting in the way?
What about when you throw an accidental pregnancy into the mix?!
This dual pov, friends to enemies to lovers, was my first read from Micalea, and it was SO good, I dreaded having to leave the world inside these pages. Maybe I don’t hate pregnancy tropes after all…
I really enjoyed the characters and the complexities within this story; the levels of growth, vulnerability, and waves of emotion.
I read this coming off a string of really mediocre books, and PLM reminded me of that euphoric feeling of being so excited and giddy in anticipation of seeing how things unfold between two characters, which I’m so grateful for.
Beckham has been through a lot and is reluctant to grow attachments, but underneath all of those internal scars, he has such a caring heart. From moving his birth father into better long term care, to adopting a cat when his elderly neighbour was no longer able to care for it, and taking care of Lennon when she was sick! Behind all the misgivings and apprehension that he’s not deserving, he has been so incredibly supportive from the get go which speaks volumes.
Lennon and Beckham had great banter and chemistry throughout, and I loved the way they were so effortlessly able to go from being workplace enemies to affectionate and teasing. I mean, that whole Chicago trip?! The hand holding on the plane?! All of the tension and lust that came afterwards and never left? WHEW.
The balance of funny moments (hello Laurel saving a random orange cat because she thought it was Cheddar), to tender domesticity, and everything in between was so incredibly well done. Nothing felt overshadowed and there was even room to intersperse important topics like working through generational traumas, and bringing light to the discrepancies that women face in workplace environments based on gender.
The honeybee pet name was so freaking adorable. I genuinely can’t wait to have this book in my hands so I can re-read and annotate it!!
“I’m going to be the best damn dad to that kid, okay? And I want people to know that.”
“There’s more to every single person out there than what we see on the surface.”
I really enjoyed this title! Micaela Smeltzer came on my radar last year after her Wildflower duet and sine then Ive been wanting to pick up other titles from her. I think the Wildflower remains to be my favorite, but I like this as well! I love a second chance, office romance trope so that made this really enjoyable. Always expect an emotional read with this author, but I highly recommend giving this title a read!
I love how the Author writes real life problems and how she writes deep-raw feelings ..
This book isn't an exception.
Complex- longing- a journey to self growth.
Lennon and Beckham had been in love since they were eighteen years old.. but society dictates these strict rules of "appearances" and Beckham just.. disappear one day leaving Lennon heartbroken.. few years forward .. Lennon enters to her new job and discovers she has to work with Beckham .. maybe time has change everything between them .. or maybe the're still a sparkle between them ..
.
A complicated love, unresolved attraction, longing, life altering events, and a journey of self-worth will face Lennon and Becham..
.
Special thanks to Author, Publisher and Netgalley for this Arc in exchange of my honest opinion.
Pretty little mistake had a great beginning. However, I am not a fan at all of the fake dating trope and this is a big plot line between Lennon and Beckham.

3/5 stars
Dual protagonist, MF. This is a contemporary romance with the second chance, childhood sweetheart, best friends sister and work colleagues trope.
Whilst it had a good solid storyline and worldbuilfing, it feltba little stilted. I was left with a disjointed feeling, as though I didn't quite believe the story, could not get a pulse on the chemistry. It just felt lacking for me unfortunately. I would give this author another chance though I would not expect too much.
First things first, I did DNF (did not finish) this book at the 30% mark. I really wanted to love this book but this book wasn't for me. I thought that the premise was great, but as I got farther into this book it didn't hit the spot. I loved the friends/enemies/lovers trope, but it did fall short for me
I could not put this down! I usually don't enjoy the accidental pregnancy tropes but these characters drew me in. I loved their relationship and the second-chance, enemies-to-lovers aspect of it. Beckham and Lennon were so cute together even through all the hardships like work, their families, and the pregnancy. I loved how they were constantly there for each other every time.
Micalea's writing kept me locked into the story and I didn't want it to end,
Thank you, NetGalley and Micalea Smeltzer for this ARC read in exchange for an honest review.

I've loved all of Micalea Smeltzer's books, so I was super excited to see this one come up on my NetGalley!
I liked the shared history between Lennon and Beckham, it really helped to set up their relationship, so there wasn't as much "get to know you." I'm not always in love with the surprise baby thing, but because I knew what I was getting into, this was okay.
I think the book felt a little short? I'm not sure if that's the right word, but it all happened very fast.
Overall, a good book, but not my favourite by Smeltzer.
Thanks so much Montlake and NetGalley for access to this arc!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I went into this book slightly biased and with big expectations because the Wildflower duet was one of my favourite reads from 2022. It completely shocked me, tore my heart out then stitched it back together, and I was left feeling like ‘how dare a book duet be this good?!’
So it’s safe to say nothing was going to live up to my expectations. 🥲 But Pretty Little Mistake came close!
My favourite parts of this book
⭐️ second chance romance
⭐️ office romance
⭐️ surprise pregnancy (I honestly love this trope when it’s well written)
⭐️ in-depth on-page character development
⭐️ witty banter dished out by both MCs
Some of the side characters were unnecessarily annoying and the relationship arc was a bit drawn out. I also could have done with some more third act drama (I never usually criticise this but in this book it felt like there could have been more). But all in all I enjoyed ready this and highly recommend anything and everything by Micalea!
This is a great second chance romance, in my opinion it could be better, as I have devoured some great stories by this author and this one didn’t make me smile as much as I hoped. It took me a while to get into, it was kind of all or nothing for a while. It ticked the boxes, but it took a long while to get in too, but I will say that when I did it was five-stars all the way. Lennon and Beckham will make you smile and they will also have your heart in your mouth, if it will stay there is up to you.
*** Thank you Netgalley, Micalea Smeltzer and Montlake for the ARC ***

Tropes: Accidental pregnancy, Second chance romance, Brother’s best friend
What do you do when the person who broke your heart and took your virginity is employed at the company you just got a job at? Not to mention he’s a dick. Naturally, your boss makes you work on a project and travel to another city together. When the chemistry and alcohol become too much to handle, the two set aside their differences for the night, except Lennon becomes pregnant. The two must navigate unwanted feelings as they attempt to figure out their new role – as parents and see if they’ll get the second chance they’re too afraid to mention.
Truthfully, I hate the accidental pregnancy trope, because it’s always the same thing – except in this story. If all accidental pregnancies could be written this way, I’d definitely seek out more of them. Lennon and Beckham used protection, not feeding into lust. The story itself is written so beautifully, touching on heavier subjects in just the right way. If I didn’t have to you know, sleep and work, I would’ve easily finished this story in one sitting. I loved Beckham so much. I loved how strong Lennon and Beckham are given their pasts and how much they overcome together. I could read an entire series on just those two. Not to mention, the super adorable cat, Cheddar and his comedic relief when things started to get heavy. I particularly loved “I startle awake with the realization that I can’t breathe. For a split second I think I’m dreaming, but I quickly realize that’s not the case at all. I am in fact awake and suffocating because my fat cat is lying on top of my chest” and “Look, Cheddar.” I show the chubby cat the black-and-white photos. “That’s your brother or sister.” He takes one paw and bat at it before hissing and running to hide under the table.”
This is my first time reading a Micaela Smeltzer novel and it will definitely not be my last.
