Lovely and uplifting. This book is a good resource for teaching children about patience, self-worth and the happiness that comes from being true to yourself.
"...to remind them that everyone is important, and that nothing needs to be perfect."
It's about Lily and Moira, little witches who are different. Lily is known as a clever little witch, while Moira is the opposite. When she got a gift one day, Moira was sad why she got an old broom. Never mind feeling insecure with Lily, she was even sadder because of the broom present. These stories help children love themselves, be themselves, and appreciate what they have.
A heartwarming story with detailed and adorable illustrations. 💙
Thank you so much to Quarto Publishing/ Frances Lincoln and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Moria and Lilly are both witches, but Moria is not so good at making potions or saying spells, so she shy’s away from trying. Then the big day of relics arrive and Moria feels let down her is no good, just an old broom, she can’t see the magic within.
So sweet and I loved that Moira had a really big element of magic in the end. I loved the illustrations when I first opened the book to the first page of the story I found myself diving into the illustrations before reading, there was so many little things and it was captivating, the illustrations really captured me the whole time so stunning.
The story itself was magical, literally, I really loved that Lilly was always so supportive, she found magic came easy and Moria didn’t, but she believed Moira would find hers and the was there to celebrate with her, to encourage her when she found it. I really loved that sweet relationship between them.
It was cute seeing a good glimpse at the other witches with their relics, each one so different having different forms of magic. This is such a sweet book, it’s one that children would love to hear, it’s magical, is beautiful, the story is sweet and has great elements within it.
Oh my gosh, I think I've found my new favorite children's fiction. This book was so good. A heartwarming and inspiring message? Witches tale? Gorgeous illustrations? All of them are available here. I particularly appreciate how it emphasizes self-acceptance and self-love as well as companionship. I would certainly like to read more works from this author.
Thanks a lot to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for this ARC.
A sweet and charming story about magic and friendship. Every which gets a special relic that will help them come into their magic. Moira wants nothing more than to finally get hers, but when she does get her relic for some reason it just isn’t working. She’ll have to learn to believe in herself to make her magic come to life. This was such a sweet read and the artwork was so cute!

So exciting. This is an amazing project with an amazing story.
First of all: stunning artwork from Beatrice Blue as always with her detailed scenes and composition. I always loved her art and character design.
Second: witches.
The story focuses mainly on two witches but we can see others. They all get their relics and powers but Moira and her self-doubt gets a common old broom. I just can't resist a wonderful story of a witch finding her inner strength, to believe in her own magic.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to give my honest review.
The overall message of this book was inspiring, and something that every kid needs to hear. More importantly, the illustrations brought the magical world to life. I felt transported to another place while reading.
I got this on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
omg I love this book SO SO SO MUCH!!! Self-Acceptance, Self-Love, magic and friendship???? AMAZING!!!
I think everyone should read this one!
Also: the art is so beautiful and I want art from this artist in my house!
What a sweet story about a little witch named Moira, who isn't quite the witch she wants to be so she's hoping her relic can help her. However, when Moira gets her relic and feels it's not "as good" as her friends' relic, she feels like giving up. Can Moira find the power to believe in herself and her ability as a witch? I will 100% read this to my kiddos!
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!
