Very cool idea. Love it. Interactive and useful with a year of notes that include among many things: quotes from famous or motivators, notes to fill in with wishes, motivation, memories, reminders of love, wishes, positive reminders... Also lists and tips, quizzes, and fun facts. It's awesome to send to school with the kids, a little surprise note to help them with their overwhelming days and anxiety.
Each page is illustrated by a different artist.
Genius!!
I adore all things Rebel Girls. But this… is gold!
This pack of lunchbox notes is perfect for any girl! They’re not your typical cheesy jokes. They’re inspirational. They’re beautiful. They’re filled with a variety of content.
Some notes can be filled in by the guardian- adorable!! Many have great facts about amazing women! Some are interactive for the reader.
I run out of ideas for lunchbox notes after a week! I am immediately adding this to my amazon cart for next year!! What a brilliant idea!
The first thing that crossed my mind when i read this was, "This is really fun..."
This is a fun read for older girls. Informative, funny with really cute drawing, my daughter sure going to love this.
Rebel Girls Notes to Share
contains pages you can rip out and stash in your child’s lunchbox, backpack, or other bag. These illustrated notes include quotes from diverse role models, puns to keep them laughing, stress management tips, messages you can personalize for your child and fun facts to learn and share and more.
I was very impressed with the illustrations of each featured role model!
Thanks to Netgalley and Rebel Girls for giving me the opportunity to experience an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is exactly what the description says it is. It legitimately cannot get any simpler than that.
The illustrations are really nice and I love the variety of communication activities on some of the notes. I also like that a lot of it is trivia, though it would have been nice to have more lesser-known "rebel girls" like the regular Rebel Girls books have (and more that aren't problematic, like Nazi-sympathizer Frida Kahlo, for instance).
I think this would be a fun thing to do for your kid if you need some quick notes of encouragement.
This is so cute! I love that there are so many little notes and quotes and fun things in this publication. This would absolutely be something that I would share with my son when he’s older (he’s only 5 months now!) I love the educational content, the loving notes that can be personalized and lift someone’s day, and the general theme that anyone can do anything they want and be as big of an impact to this world as they can be. Fabulous publication!
A tear out pages book of smart and fun notes to share with your rebel girl. There are notes with jokes, fun facts, inspirational notes, and requesting replies to make each day different. It's definitely for older girls and not the little ones.
Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for this free eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Another great one by tge @rebelgirls. And just in time as my oldest is starting school in September. I'll be using these notes every day to pack in her lunch box.
Another 5 star for me
This 'Rebel Girls' publication is a wonderful collection of quotes, jokes, and other inspirational content to share as notes for girls to promote a parent-child connection that helps us raise the next generation of empowered women!
This book came along at a great time for me - I was running out of my own thought generated content to share with my daughter in her lunchbox notes - this resources has a HUGE range of content and will keep me going for months to come - bonus points for having quotes from the likes of Beyonce and Lady Gaga - these will gain me massive kudos!
I love the modern feel of this publication - the graphics are contemporary and very appealing, the content is diverse and extensive.
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.
A wonderful book for our daughters. This book, which I read as a pdf file, should be purchased in print as it contains pages to be torn out with messages of encouragement to our daughters. The quotes are from entertainers, athletes, historically important women, and there are tear outs with simple words of encouragement. The book is wonderfully designed and these words of encouragement will go far. Lovely book indeed.
I have always been a fan of handwritten notes. For everyone. For any occasion. And I have always loved the idea of packing a tiny surprise note with the lunchbox I pack in the morning. I understand that this idea and concept of tiny notes will not be for everyone, but for me this is perfect. As listed through the book, I thought about all the ways I can use those tiny note ideas, there definitely were many I had never thought of.
My copy of the book was a digital one, so there was no way to tear out a page and add my own writing to it, but I can still take a piece of paper, add a tiny drawing, and write my own text there.
I really loved the pages with inspirational quotes by various women – and the drawings that accompany those! In fact, I can see those quotes and drawings in a separate Rebel Girls book. Inspiration and Motivation Rebel Girls Style.
Overall, loved the concept of this book. Can’t wait to see it in print!
I honestly wasn't quite sure what the expect in this book, maybe because I'm long-winded and, well, for me notes are long. I'm glad I didn't pass it by, however, as it reminded me, one, no, all notes don't have to be long, and, two, the power of words. While Rebel Girls focuses on girls as a target audience, I decided as I went along that, quite frankly, this book could be a wonderful tool for all ages, whether parent-child, friends, teachers, or people you'd like to give a boost. male or female. True, the offerings are female centered but the words have a wide application.
It's no secret that I've become a huge Rebel Girls fan. Here you have a note for every day of the year, including a birthday. They range from quick bits of info, like the bicycle racer who received a pig as a prize, to silly jokes that often rely on word-play, to suggestions for personalized notes, such as "When you get home, let's___!" or "If your day was a movie, what would the title be?" I'm still pondering that one.
One of the things I liked best was that the notes didn't focus on today's popular figures alone. Sure, they're there, but so are figures like Cleopatra, Josephine Baker, Amelia Earhart, and Beatrix Potter. Did you know she kept a diary written in code? Do you know who Mary Westmacott is? How about Agatha Christie? One and the same. And...oh, so many fascinating quotes and bits of wisdom mixed with jokes, ideas for notes, even a place to make your own doodle of the day, all affirmative and interesting and many offering a laugh.
As noted above, it should appeal to many, not just parents. It's fully illustrated, with each note taking just a singled page. Rebel Girls labeled it a "novelty book" and it is certainly that. Once again, Rebel Girls has a winner. Thanks to #RebelGirls and #NetGalley for allowing me a sneak peek that, gasp, made me think. I mean, what would the movie title for your day be called?
Loved Every Bit of it!!!!
Definitely going to share this with my little boy!
I always enjoy reading Rebel girls series but this is something I would really cherish.
Thank you so much NetGalley for sharing.
Fabulous addition/extra to the rebel girl family. I love the idea of sticky notes a giving girls a family reminder they are amazing. Will be purchasing for my 11year old niece
I liked the little notes with facts about the powerful women but the fill in the blanks ones seemed like an afterthought. I would love if this was included in the books instead of a separate volume.
A bunch of paper notes with fun facts, jokes and inspirational quotes from female scientists, sportswomen and artists.
Just to give you an example of an empowering affirmation:
"When you get home let´s..." or "My wish for you today is that..."
This one I like the most: Feeling anxious? Try this..." followed by some ideas on how to fight anxiety.
I got this in a PDF format, so it´s really not ideal for a review. It looks nice and according to some teenagers that I have around it´s kinda cool. I just hope there is enough space left for doodling, scribbling extra notes etc.
A really cute concept with a mix of quotes and facts about famous women and cards you can fill in yourself. I also enjoy the ones with advice for anxiety and other things. Definitely a fun idea!
Very cute! I love the thought of using these, as a teacher. I work with young girls in the STEM areas to encourage them to be more involved and in leadership. These would be ideal to use with their peers and to use as a teacher for them.
This book has a mixture of facts, quotes, fill-in-the-blanks, and other cute little notes. I love the variety of women represented in this book. This is a cute idea for parents or guardians to implement into their occasional routine to encourage and help create smiles for their children.
An interesting and eclectic mix of fabulous women and girls. The book mixes up quotes, mini one line stories about the people and notes to copy out for your daughter. The jokes are particularly terrible and cracker worthy which makes this aimed more at a younger age range for me, although the notes could be for young teens. The artistry isn’t quite as bold and bright as the other books in the range however does capture well the characters.
