Well, she’s done it again! Another fantastic book from the brilliant @kristenbailey the lady who brought to life the fabulously funny Callaghan sisters series including Has Anyone Seen My Sex Life? as well as Great Sexpectations (hmm I sense a theme here 🤔😂🤪)

This story focuses on 2 teachers who have become great friends over the last few years - the slightly awkward yet adorably sweet and calm Ed who at the age of 28 is greatly lacking in sexual experiences and the confident, formidable, fun, whirlwind that is Mia.

Mia enjoys sex and I love that she unapologetically owns that.
With her experiences (good and bad!) she offers to give Ed a helping hand (pardon the pun 🤪) and

So many laugh out loud moments (won’t be looking at a fan in the same way again!!), super sex positive, dual point of view, cringeworthy moments, great story line, relatable characters with their own sensitive security hang ups and also for fans of previous Kristen books Beth and Lucy feature! If you like a spicy 🌶️ 🔥 romcom then this is a book for you!

With thanks to @netgalley @stormpublishing and @kristenbailey for sending in return for an honest review

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Storm publishing for this advance reader copy of Sex Ed by Kristen Bailey - this one came out yesterday, 7/4/23 and I HIGHLY recommend you check this one out!

This one actually made me laugh out loud multiple times. Centered around Mia and Ed, a story about how opposites attract - Ed is a 28(ish) year old virgin, and drunkenly tells Mia after a night of drinking. Mia decides that she’s going to act as a “sex therapist” to Ed and teach him everything he needs to know when he meets a girl, Caitlin, he might be interested in. The most wonderful part about this story is Ed and Mia’s friendship - I loved their interactions, and how both needed things from each other. I literally couldn’t stop reading this, it was so enjoyable. If all of Kristen Bailey’s books are this hilarious, I’m immediately going to need to read more.

Thank you again to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC - Sex Ed is out today!

This is the 7th book by Kristen I have 4ead and I absolutely adore her style. Every book I have read has been absolutely hilarious and this one is no exception.

The prologue is excellent. It really reminded me of my first time and how awkward and disappointing it was. Kristen got this spot on.

Mia is a great character. She is very likeable and you can easily see her as one of the cool teachers when you were at school. She cares so much but also understands that life is about living. Ed reminds me of my GCSE science teacher. He's sweet and really wants his students to do well.

I absolutely loved the cameo from Beth and Lucy Callaghan. If you haven't read this series by Kristen you absolutely HAVE to. It's one of my most loved series and I'm always recommending it.

This book is the perfect tonic to a bad day. I'm currently pregnant and was reading this will 25+ weeks and it was perfect for when I'd had a tough night's sleep or a long tiring day and really needed a pick me up.

I can't thank Kristen enough for letting me part of this tour and for my copy via NetGalley. I look forward to many more laughs in the future!

Aw Ed & Mia. How I adore you both! I absolutely flew through this book as I was so engrossed in Ed & Mia's story! And while it's a very typical friends to lovers rom-com including the 3rd act misunderstanding, I didn't care. The main characters are well written & you can't help but fall for them.
There's lots of laughs & emotion in the book. And the spice is spicy but also feels like real life spice.
Definitely a good beach read.

i haven’t laughed this hard while reading a book in so long.
this felt so heartwarming and beautiful, how the friendships kept building up slowly to form thief feelings and how so naturally mia helped ed with no shame or making him feel bad about it, i love that she showed herself a little more rough on the outside but was so smush and emphatic in the inside, those people are the best people in my opinion.
the love part was so cute, i’m normally not a fan of friends to lovers but in this case it was so perfectly done that it just felt so natura how everything flowed. the banter and jokes were the best part, it was so so fun.
this is such a good read, loving and funny and so fast to read, i absolutely loved it.

thank you netgalley for proving me and arc in exchange of an honest review.

I read this by the pool and couldn't have picked a better spot for this sexy, rollicking good time.

Read this in a sitting! I think it'll be a perfect summer book to sit back, poolside and have tons of laughs. The two leads had great chemistry that was built on being actual friends to becoming lovers. It was flirty, fresh, and freaking hilarious. If you love the tropes: opposites attract, friends to lovers, dual-POV, romcom!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book.

This book was so easy and fun to read. The characters were really believable and cute, and the friendship was also to die for. The progression from friends to lovers through practically hands-on sex education was cute and didn't feel forced for the sake of it. Overall really loved this book and would read from the author again!

A sweet and easy read that I enjoyed. The dialogue and characterization was top-tier, and I loved the relationship between the two main characters, with a real foundation of friendship!

The characters in this are just so lovely!
The juxtaposition between Mia, free spirit, supportive mum, early adopter of sex as entertainment and Ed (oh, that fan incident- poor boy) is really clever and the friendship they have is beautiful.
The characters step off the pages and into your heart and you will be rooting for Ed as he steps out into the world of sexual relationships with every ounce of your being!

This was a really cute friends to practical sex education to lovers story! I appreciated that even though Ed was nervous he was weird for being a virgin at 28, it was never really a thing for others aside from surprise (since virginity is a construct and society really pressures teens and young adults into thinking they need to have sex by a certain age). They had good chemistry and I would read another book by this author. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley! It comes out tomorrow, July 4. ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫

Don’t waste time reading lots of reviews on this book, you need to just read it! It’s an easy, lighthearted read with plenty of laughs and content to make you smile. If you don’t like any sexual references, this may not be the book for you. Think friends with benefits/sex-training in the modern world… 😉 do opposites really attract?.. 🤔

For me I’ve read a good number of Kristen’s books and enjoyed them all, but am finding this one particularly amusing. Can’t wait for the next from this author…

Kristen Bailey is one of the funniest people I know. Her books always have me in stitches and, after the Callaghan Sister series and an outstanding stand-alone titled Great Sexpectations (notice a theme there? 😜), she’s back with Sex Ed, another incredible rom-com full of laughs, lovely characters and a bit of sex (well, lots of sex. Clue is in the title! 😂).

Ed and Mia are work colleagues and best friends. When a new teacher arrives at their school, Ed shows some interest in her but, when after a drunk night out he confesses to Mia he’s still a virgin at 28, she offers to teach him everything she knows about sex so he can seduce her. Little they know the whole process will awake some unexpected feelings in them.

First of all. That title! Could it be any better? Such a great pun! You know I love a good double entendre! I made the mistake of starting this one on the bus and just a few pages in I was laughing so hard people were staring at me weird. How to explain them that it was all about a little accidente between a willy and a fan? 😅 The prologue was sooo good. The fear and awkwardness of those first times was perfectly portrayed. Also, after reading so many of her books, I feel I have a Masters Degree in genitalia synonyms! (I’m always up for expanding my vocabulary ☺️).

Ed and Mia are complete opposites. Ed is geeky, awkward, sweet and inexperienced. Mia is outgoing, fearless, messy and sexually unabashed. They are like water and oil, but yet make such a great combo. I liked them separately, but loved them together. They had incredible chemistry and you’ll fall in love with them in a matter of pages. I loved how they brought out the good in each other while growing as individuals.

If you’ve previously read some of her books, you know that Kristen is not afraid to speak openly about sex, and I adore that. She does it in a very natural, positive and unapologetic way that I think is really necessary to have in fiction. The sex scenes here were playful, funny and, sometimes, a bit awkward (but good awkward, not cringy awkward), as they are in real life.

I also loved how neither character was judged or ashamed for their sexuality or lack of. Both of them felt so real, with the good and the bad, what made them really relatable and people you would love to have as friends.

The whole cast of characters was incredible. They were charming and endearing, and the banter between them was out of this world. I was surprised by some appearances from old friends that made me squeal a little bit. 😍

One of the greatest things about Kristen’s work is that she always infuses her stories and characters with lots of heart so, even though initially this may sound like something not for you (lots of people seem to be afraid about sex talk yet), if you give it a chance you’ll discover a heartwarming and hilarious story you won’t want to end.

Incredibly charming friends to lovers (well, in fairness I guess it is a friends to teacher/student to lovers story) with the perfect mix of spicy, steam, sweet and fun, that will have you laughing your a** off. Her books are the perfect antidote for when you’re feeling down so please, Kristen, never stop writing!

Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Books for providing and eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love friends to lover's trope and this one definitely delivered! I really like how it has both POV from the main characters so we can see how they are both feeling.

Thank you Net Galley and Kristen for the advanced copy in return for my honest review.

I have read all of Kristen Bailey's books, and this one didn't disappoint.

Fun loving party girl Mia is best friends with Ed. Ed is still waiting to pop his cherry. After a drunk night out Ed confesses he is still a virgin. Mia offers to teach him. That's when the fun starts.

This book has all the feels and fun you would come to expect from a Kristen book and I absolutely loved it.

It was also lovely to catch up with a couple of the Callaghan sisters, Beth and Lucy and the previous book references.
Looking forward to the next book

I loved how the story flicks back and forth from Mia's pov to Ed's. Both characters are so funny and awkward and it was nice getting both of their perspectives. But I didn't love the way they always said "the sex". It just annoyed me and i didn't think the extra word was necessary.

Overall, Sex Ed is the third book that I've read from Kristen Bailey and I swear they are getting better and better!! This was a well written feel good rom com that will literally leave you laughing out loud!!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book.

This book was funny from the beginning, I loved Mia and Ed. This book is sex positive and it shares some awkward moments that a lot of people can relate to. This is a great friends to lovers, and I enjoyed each character and how total opposite they are . Ed is an introvert while Mia is total extrovert, a great combo in a friendship.

Mia and Ed are teachers at the same school. They have been friends for years since they started teaching together and when Ed starts showing interest to a new teacher, Mia starts teaching Ed a few things about sex. Until this get a little out of hand.

This book will have you laughing out loud and loving every chapter, You can get into this book quickly and honestly can be finished in one sitting. Mia and Ed will have special place in my heart.

Overall the book is an amazing read, its not my type of trope normally but after reading Sex Ed im looking forward to more friends to lovers. I recommend this book to anyone who want a real good laugh and just want to enjoy the awkwardness of sex.

This book is great! I laughed, I may have had a leaky eye a time or two from laughing. The story is a bit crazy in the beginning, but by the end I was hopeful it would end the way it did. I have already added a few of her other books to my TBR.

SEX ED is such a sweet, funny, friends-to-lovers rom-com! Mia and Ed were both great characters—real, likable, and so easy to root for, both as individuals and as a couple. If you're looking for a light, heartwarming read that will have you laughing out loud from start to finish, this is the book for you! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
