I’ve not long finished and can already tell this book is going to give me the biggest hangover. I need the next one immediately!!
Samkiel and Dianna!? Swoon. Their character development is so well done, Dianna’s grief is palpable and her reactions (while extreme) are exactly what I expected from her character development in the first book.
The world building… I can’t put it into words if I’m honest. There’s a lot of description and build up, and heaps of politics in this second instalment (always seems to be the way) but I couldn’t put the book down. I inhaled this. It’s a big book, but nevertheless, I couldn’t get enough. Part of me wanted it to be longer still.
The multiple pov was new. The first book was between Dianna/Liam. This time we get insights into most of the characters internal thoughts. It was a little jarring at first but I felt like each switch in view offered a little more information for us as the reader.
I loved this book and will definitely be picking up book 3!

This is book two in the gods and monsters series and I was thoroughly hooked! It's a paranormal/fantasy romance with vampires, magic, spice and so much more! I definitely recommend reading these books.

Grief consumes Dianna, shaking her world to its core. She is a monster that sounds like thunder, driven by desire to avenge the tragic death of Gabby. Her rampage is a quest to hold accountable all those who betrayed her and, most important, the gentle soul that was Gabby. Amidst this chaos, Samkiel tries to save her while also saving the world from her.
In "The Throne of Broken Gods" by Amber V. Nicole, the second installment of the captivating "Gods and Monsters" series, Dianna's all-consuming wrath and Samkiel's perilous quest to both safeguard humanity and navigate his complex feelings for a woman who, by all accounts, should be his adversary. The echoes of their tumultuous past reverberate, as Samkiel grapples with the precarious balance between duty and an unexpected attraction that mirrors a centuries-old struggle. Will they confront the palpable chemistry that simmers beneath their conflicts? Is their bond irreparably fractured or is there hope for redemption? Both characters are haunted by their own inner demons, adding layers of complexity to their journeys.
Amidst the tempest of emotions and vendettas, a tapestry of supporting characters emerges, each with their own motivations and perspectives. The inclusion of multiple points of view adds to the narrative. I yearn for more content in the lives of Xavier and Cameron, whose I’ve grown so attached to.
One of the book's most interesting aspects is the way it channels Dianna's rage and destruction. Her fury feels justified, immersing readers in her turmoil and leaving us divided between sympathy and exhilaration. The book’s ending was a cliffhanger, I cannot wait to read more!
"The Throne of Broken Gods" earns a solid 5 out of 5 stars from me. Its compelling narrative had me glued to its pages, and the pacing was so engrossing that I devoured the book far more quickly than I thought I would. While its length might seem daunting, the story's magnetic pull is impossible to resist. The multifaceted perspectives, Dianna's unapologetic rage, and the electrifying chemistry between the protagonists collectively create an experience that promises an exciting continuation of the series.

If readers liked the first book readers will enjoy the second book. It continues to showcase a fun writing style while intertwining a deep plot line.

“You’re a fool if you think I would be happy in a world where you did not exist.”
This book begins following the gut wrenching heartbreak of the Gabby's death. Samkiel fights to bring Dianna back from the grips of her own monster, whilst evil begins its battle to destroy them both.
I was slightly startled by the other points of view in this book, but they really added to the overarching storyline, and drew me further and further into the story.
I could not put this book down, consumed by the need to see Samkiel succeed, and Dianna finally emerge from her monstrous grief and vengeance to accept the love she so desperately needs.
"I refuse to live without you. There will be no peace in this realm or the next. I will burn this universe down to embers for you. I will leave nothing untouched, taking apart anyone that’s ever hurt you piece by piece."

I need book 3 ASAP!!!
This cliff hanger??? Absolutely not. The angst was there, the spice, the pining and I just want my little cinnamon rolls to be happy.

Okay so I thought the first book was amazing and I was nervous to pick up the second one but it did not disappoint. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. Especially in the spice department.
I absolutely loved the multiple(and I mean multiple) POVs. I loved getting to know what everyone was thinking and feeling and also seeing things play out from their perspective. It adds so much more dimension to the book.
I fell even harder for Samkiel in this book. My favorite thing about him was that he didn’t speak “normally”. I found it the most adorable thing ever.
And Diana? I felt everything she felt! I was able to connect with her on such a deep level. I love how Gabby was her everything. Having a sister myself, I know exactly how she felt.
One thing I did hate about this book though…it ended. I need more. I need to know what is going to happen it’s only been a few hours since I’ve finished it and I’m already going crazy. I’m not sure I can wait for the third book.

Oh. My. Word. That tension and build up gets me every timeeeee. Samkiel is goals. I love a man that will let give you a choice in everything but will also burn the world to keep you safe. And the mouth on that man?!? Shewwwwww 🥵🤤
But seriously, Dianna is a badass bitch and her grief was deeeeeppppp. I love the work through of the trauma and I am also a sucker for found family with good banter.
The banter and angst and tension between her and Samkiel is beautifully frustrating. I need the next book asap!!

thank you netgalley for a free arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!
but im gonna go ahead and buy a physical copy of this, especially since i already have the first one!
devastated by the events of the first book dianna goes on a rampage that no one can save her from
but samkiel will try
this one was so fun! so much more character and relationship development! dianna was definitely unhinged and i . . . didn't mind that at all? she didn't annoy me at all like the way she did in the first one and normally when the murderous fmc is a little too murderous it just seems campy to me and ends up annoying me but the way dianna's grief was handled in this one made me understand her motivations and accept her character more. samkiel's patience with her was just ugh perfect. dianna's grief mixed with samkiel's attempt to save her was the perfect way to show how love is as painful as it merciful
there were some cringe moments, some POVs i didn't really care for or think were necessary. like i said with the first one, i didn't think this book needed to be as long as it was. yes some plot twists were predictable and yes i still gasped when they were revealed
that all being said, i cannot wait for book 3

I loved this book! I was absolutely hooked on the entire story, and, despite this being a very long book, I flew through it in just a couple of days. Samkiel and Dianna are excellent characters with so much depth, and I truly enjoyed being back in their world and learning more about them and the conflict they are facing.
Shoutout to Amber Nicole for including a brief recap of The Book of Azrael in the beginning of the book in such a creative format - it was such a great way to be introduced back to the characters and the storyline without simply writing a summary. Truly I think every book in a series should do this!! So helpful!! And the end?? Another cliffhanger?? I need the next book yesterday 😅
The only thing that I didn’t love about this book was that it felt long in a few places. Eventually the Samkiel/Dianna conflict got a little bit too repetitive, and I wish we could’ve gotten a little more of time with them together instead of apart. However, I think this conflict did a great job of showcasing Dianna’s grief and the way that she processed it, so that was a plus.
I highly recommend this series!! A great fantasy romance with a unique magic system, great character development, and excellent plot twists. I’m very much looking forward to the next one!
Thank you to NetGalley and Rose & Star Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Throne of Broken Gods finally delivers on the Samkiel/Dianna relationship, albeit about 50% of the way through after Dianna goes on a slaughter revenge spree to answer for the murder of her sister. I enjoyed many aspects of the emotional healing journey of the book with some of the best passages being Samkiel and the Hand's refusal to give up on Dianna and the final scenes with Gabby. The smut definitely delivered on the glimpses of it we got in book 1.
My biggest gripe was with the length of the book itself (similar to the length of book 1). There were perspectives and passages I just didn't care about (I didn't need a single Kaden chapter because I don't want to have him humanized). My second biggest gripe was about all the time Dianna spent without her powers and didn't really spend much time retaining any training or muscle to be able to pull some of the stunts she did in the end. I'd have love to get more training content with Samkiel or even the Hand. All in all though this book was predictable in plot, longer than it needed to be, but delivered on everything it promised.

After reading the first book I was excited to start this one, but for me it was a slow start since reading slump started to hit me hard. Good thing I managed to finish it. I really liked it, the story was very captivating and I was a little sad that it was over. The characters were really interesting.

This book exceed all expectations!! Samkiel and Dianna’s relationship in this book is just so well written! I loved their banter, the ups and the downs.
I am a sucker for side characters and this book didn’t disappoint! The relationships were heartwarming and the way Amber wrote this book was incredible! It’s not very often I actually feel like I’m in a scene of the book but this book make me grin from ear to ear! And oh my goodness I can’t not mention the plot twists!!!!! Ladies and Gents, this book is epic. Cancel all of your plans and go read this book!

"The Throne of Broken Gods" flawlessly continues the story from "The Book of Azrael," immersing readers in an emotionally charged journey that explores themes of grief, vengeance, and navigating profound loss. The sequel expands upon its rich world-building and provides insight into previously sidelined characters, adding depth to the narrative.
Dianna's path takes an enthralling turn as she embraces a phase of villainy driven by vengeance and betrayal. Her struggles with trust and grief are vividly portrayed, and her relationship with Samkiel adds a sensual layer to the story.
While the novel excels in many aspects, it occasionally drags due to its length. Some parts, like Dianna's journey of revenge, can feel repetitive. The extensive groundwork can lead to predictability in certain plot twists.
Overall, "The Throne of Broken Gods" is a compelling continuation that delves into complex emotions, character development, and a multifaceted world. Despite its occasional pacing issues, it captures the reader's attention and emotions, making it a worthwhile read.

Oh wow, this book was good! For a long book, it took me a surprisingly short amount of time to read.
This book was so emotional and heart wrenching but somehow was also really funny and fun to read! All of the characters are so well written and fleshed out and there were so many new facets to this follow-up book that I thought made it even better than the first book!

I have never read a book so fast in my life. I am more mad at myself that I’ve had this ARC for MONTHS and didn’t read it. This book is PHENOMENAL. Amber V Nicole expertly uses romance as such a key part of this story and plot. Yes, it’s a fantasy romance, but it’s so much more than that. It focuses on anxiety, communication, trauma of all kinds and the issues that strive from all those unresolved issues. For someone who struggles with mental health and some other topics our FMC has gone through, SINCE BOOK ONE, it is so easy to put yourself not only in Dianna’s shoes, but Samkiel, Logan, Cameron, Gabby and more. I thoroughly enjoy any book that provides me the emotions of a character. It means it was written well and with reference to the pain these characters go through. The pain is yours but easy to disguise as the characters. But what you feel is yours. I think that’s art. I LOVED the different point of views and I loved the bread crumbs left throughout this entire book, which then led to the cliff hanger at the end of this novel. There are just way too many good things to say. I cannot believe I have to wait a year for the next installment, but this book has made my TOP 10 books of all time. Super recommend, don’t even think just buy the entire series.

The Throne of Broken Glass is book 2 in the Gods & Monsters series.
A well constructed morally grey, unique world of Gods, Monsters & Humans.
A slow burn scenario of enemies to lovers with plenty of action, twists & turns throughout both books 1 & 2.
With book 1’s cliffhanger we leap right into book 2. It is emotionally heart wrenching and subsequently a great and easy read.
The characters are well written and have fantastic development coming from book one.
The otherworldly world building has true skill and is so expertly done, you are transported into a dark and fantastical world with relatable characters. The dialogue is well executed and deals with many serious subject matters.
All in all a fantastic series.
I absolutely loved this second book. Simply excellence.
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.
I just reviewed The Throne of Broken Gods by Amber V. Nicole. #TheThroneofBrokenGods #NetGalley

I was so happy to continue with the story of Dianna Samkiel!
Love, patience, found family, twists and turns were a pleasure to read! A little more romance built in the second book as tends to be the case.
I really enjoy books with multiple POV’s so this was another way this book was one I couldn’t put down!

A special thanks to NetGalley and Rose & Star Publishing; Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA); and Members' Titles for the ARC!
3 out of 5⭐ as the book really needed a mean, thorough editor to go through it before publishing, because 93 chapters is super excessive for how little happened in a third of the book. It was so long and uneventful that I am incredibly resentful that I slugged through it only to receive the dastardly criminal cliffhanger we were given at the end of the novel.
The story continues where The Book of Azrael lets off: Diana's sister is dead, and Diana's whole world, sense of self, and control of the monster inside shattered instantly in the wake of Gabby's murder on screen. The persona of Liam is retired, and Samkiel stops pretending and finally takes on the responsibility of kinghood he'd been ignoring the past millenia as he scrambles to search and perform damage control on the multitude of disasters Diana leaves behind on the revenge murder spree she throws herself into. Questions raised in the first novel are eventually answered, but we are left with more due to an unsatisfactory cliffhanger.
Some positives that I enjoyed are the character development we see in members of the Hand and the return of Roccurem.
