Micro Activism is a fantastic resource and guide for anyone interested in implementing small, sustainable daily work that can help further a cause. The author inserts stories from several activists in-between each chapter, which adds a personal touch and reassurance that small steps can lead to bigger change. Self-care and community are emphasized are necessary parts in achieving a goal. Overall, I think this is a great starting point for folks who want to get involved but feel lost on where to start, but also an excellent reminder for all activists that the work is a marathon, not a sprint.

This works well for what it is as a book meant to inspire others to participate in small forms of activism. It provides many practical tips on how to best use your time and how to not burnout.

I'm very data-driven, so I had been hoping there would have been more evidence (either in anecdotes or in actual numbers) of microactivism contributing to real change. The book does make the distinction between shallow and deep acts of activism, but there's not much time spent on identifying shallow vs. deep in practice. There's the underlying assumption in the book that things like calling or writing emails to government offices is a valuable use of time, but I've just always been skeptical that those things do any good, and this book didn't convince me otherwise.

Nonetheless, I do still agree with the message of the book in finding small, sustainable ways to participate in the causes you most care about, but I personally wanted more evidence of the impact microactivism has, rather than just trusting that it will have impact.

This book is a great resource for anyone interested in activism and wanting to make a difference in their community. With a quiz to learn the type of activism that suits you best, profiles on activists, and small actionable steps at the end of every chapter, this book has a lot to offer. I received an ARC for free in exchange for an honest review.

This is a quick read, hopeful and inspiring for people who want to make a difference, but are afraid that they can never make a real impact. Recommended for introverts or people with little time or energy who still want to engage in activism.

While I would certainly recommend the book, I do have to say that the concepts it talked about were all fairly basic, and sometimes the writing was a little repetitive. There are a few big concepts that the book kept returning to: limit your focus, practice self-care, find community. All in all, I felt that the book could have been shorter.
