Was an interesting storyline, however I found myself losing interest during the story and found it difficult to pick back up and finish.

Good Bad Girl could have been a much better read in my opinion. It grabbed my attention but I can’t say I loved it.

Another fantastic read from Alice Feeney....truly has you flicking the pages at warp speed in order to find out what happens. Suspenseful and engaging writing style kept me occupied until the early hours!!! Many thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review.

Alice is one of my favourite authors, and she delivered again! I never guess where Alice’s plots are going, and they're always full of twists and shocks. This book is clever and addictive—one of my favourites of 2023.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the arc.

Great book, once I’d got into it. Quite slow paced though.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

Lots of different POVs which is a lot like her other books. Lots of character development. Which to me seemed to take over the actual book, more than the crimes themselves.
I enjoyed it, but preferred some of her earlier books. I would atoll recommend this and will likely read it again :)

Another surprising, gripping thriller that gets to the heart of family and what causes us to make good or bad decisions!
Alice Feeney has been one of my favourite authors since I read her debut novel. I love how each of her books feels so fresh and unique. GOOD BAD GIRL is another absorbing and twisty read from an author that consistently takes my breath away. This book is full of Feeney’s trademark misdirection and brilliantly plotted reveals. The thing I love the most (and always know that I’m going to get!) is how Feeney let’s you think you’ve worked everything out from fairly early on, only to hit you with a sucker punch of a twist or revelation that completely flips the novel on its head. Although I was expecting something shocking towards the final third of the novel, I still didn’t see the full picture and my wild guessing was WAY off (this was probably because the twist in DAISY DARKER was so staggeringly different to what I thought it would be!). There’s something incredibly satisfying about reading something so tightly crafted. I always know that an Alice Feeney novel will be a rollercoaster and this one was so thrilling. I was fully invested in the central mystery, which unfolds in so many unexpected ways. I literally couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!
It’s very hard to review this book without exposing spoilers, but there was a lot that stood out to me thematically. Firstly, this book is very much an exploration of good and bad (probably quite obvious from the title!). I found this fascinating and Feeney really dives deeply into this. We all have good and bad within us, but this book really goes under the bonnet of generally good people either choosing or being forced to do bad things. The impact of these decisions is explored in such a perceptive way and really had me thinking as I read. It left me feeling like as human beings we are all balancing on the precipice of good and it only takes a slip, a nudge or a strong gust of wind to send us hurtling into the valley of bad. Whether we choose to fall or are pushed is down to circumstance and there’s something really impactful about this idea in relation the characters’ lives within these pages. The other theme that really struck me was family and particularly motherhood. Feeney explores perceptions of being a ‘bad’ mother on many levels, which was another absorbing aspect of the narrative. I won’t go too deeply into this, but it certainly had me reevaluating social prejudices. Again, this element of the story really helped to explore the line between good and bad and what can blur this.
If you enjoy a gripping thriller that is mysterious, shocking and thought-provoking, GOOD BAD GIRL should be at the top of your TBR!

This author ranks amongst some of my favourite thriller writers. But for some reason, this one just didn't quite do it for me. The twists are there, the unreliable narrator, a years old mystery coming to the surface. All the things I love. But I was just left a little underwhelmed.
Maybe it's because I love Feeneys' previous books so much, and this isn't really as good as those? In any case, I'd still recommend this book, but I'd start with this one for new Alice Feeney readers

I’ve loved other reads by this author so this was a no-brainer read but unfortunately it just fell flat for me. It’s more of a domestic drama that touches on motherhood than a thriller. I do like domestic dramas but this one just didn’t engage me. I was bored more than interested. I found it a really tedious slow burn and didn't find anything thrilling or shocking if anything it was very predictable. The blurb is misleading as the listen is not what the blurb portrays. Can’t say the characters were overly likeable or endearing. This one just didn’t do it work for me.
Thanks to Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for the opportunity to listen to and review #GoodBadGirl

It was a little bit of a slow read for me, in parts it seemed to drag a little and I was constantly coming up with different theories of how the mystery connect from a baby going missing twenty years ago to now.. And how all the characters connected. I have to admit.. I had soo many theories and although a couple were right, some of them blew me away!
I actually started daisy darker after reading this however I couldn't get into it and ended up being a DNF for another time as I just wasn't in the right mood for reading at the time. But I have read a few of Alice's books and this felt a similar vibe.
The characters were likable, and once it all started coming together, the connections etc.. It was brilliant and I couldn't put it down. And the twists 👀 well they were incredible!! Brilliant read, only lost a star as it just wasn't as fast paced as I hoped but maybe it's due to my mood at the time of reading. 🖤

As someone who is a huge fan of Alice's work (his and hers and RPS being my faves) I was so happy to get a chance to read this!
The writing style, pace and generals hateable characters throughout were still there and I loved it!
The twists were great, helped by the unpredictable narrative!
Love love love!!

This was actually my first Alice Feeney book, although all her other works are in my TBR that seems never ending!
20 years ago a baby was kidnapped at a supermarket, and in present day a care home manager was murdered, both events linked!
The story is told in 4 POVs by different women, mothers and daughters.
This, to me, was more of a family mystery than a psychological thriller.
A slow burn for me with things heating up in the 2nd half of the book.
A little confusing trying to keep track with all the povs and timing.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I nearly gave up on this because I was reading it in bursts and couldn’t work out who was who or what the hell was going on. Thankfully, I persevered and loved it!
Don’t spend too long working out the interconnections as the author explains all at the proper time, just go with it. I did guess some of what was going on but still got caught out with one revelation.
An interesting and unexpected gem.
With thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an arc of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

After reading Daisy Darker and being enthralled, I was desperate to get my hands on the latest title, Good Bad Girl. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The story was weak, poorly narrated and lacked excitement.

I'm not usually a thriller reader but I've hesrd good things about Feeney so was excited to receive an arc of Good Bad Girl.
I was definitely intrigued by the mystery and tried and failed to work out the links between the disappearances, murders and family members. I did enjoy the twist but it didn't quite have the shock/mind-blowing factor I was expecting.
I did enjoy the characters and storytelling, but I just feel it could have been a bit more plot-heavy to really hit the spot for me! Looking forward to reading more Feeney!
Thank you so much to Alice Feeney, Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review

I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley. This is my first book by this author. There is lots to like about this book. The characters are diverse and generally likeable. The narrative includes almost every crime from petty theft to child abduction and murder. It took me through the gamut of emotions with a bit of humor thrown in. It was a very easy read with a very pacy storyline. Some of the mystery was easy to discern but I didn't work out the final twists. Probably a 3.5 star rating and an author I will read again.

Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney

The End. I wished my daughter would disappear, and now the baby is missing.
A twisty turning tale of 4 women with secrets and lies that run deep, but when there’s 2 murders in the care home where Edith lives, there’s now 3 suspects, but only 1 victim, and all their secrets start to unravel.
When I say I felt smug, and maybe even a bit bored, when I thought I had this book sussed…I thought I saw the signs and worked it out, and then…I was still shocked the end because I didn’t see THAT coming 😂 this has to be my favourite Alice Feeney so far and I look forward to go back to some of her other stories and future ones!

Good Bad Girl is another twisty and heartfelt domestic noir thriller from Alice Feeney. I liked the story's multiple narrators and the way the story gradually came together over different time frames. I particularly enjoyed Edith's and Patience's sections and I didn't predict how it would all resolve. Overall it packs quite an emotional punch, with a satisfactory conclusion.

A web of lies and interweaving family relationships lies at the heart of this novel. A murder at a care home - but who is the culprit? Three women seem to have had the opportunity to commit the crime - but did they have a motive - and is so, what?
What does it mean to be a mother, to be a daughter and what does it mean to love? Edith, Clio, Frankie and Nellie - also known as Patience discover more about each other and themselves than they ever dreamt they would.

I couldn’t finish this book as much as I normally love alice Feeneys books! It followed too many people and was a very slow pace compared to her normal books
