Poor Edith having been tricked into a nursing home. She was, however, planning her escape and became friends with Patience who wasn't very truthful. This was a captivating story and I was completely hooked from the very beginning. Very sad at times but it was a really good story with its twists and turns. Brilliant.

A woman in a supermarket with a baby girl desperately thinks to her self I wish my daughter would just disappear, she looks down only to realise the baby has been stolen from the stroller. Police search but she is never found.
Twenty years later the owner of a care home is murdered and Edith a resident in the care home has disappeared. Frankie a prison librarian, Clio Edith’s daughter and Patience an assistant at the care home are now suspects. All four woman are seemingly connected but how?
Three suspects one victim and so many secrets.
Reading this book I really thought I had it all figured out then boom Alice blows my mind again. If you are looking for suspense, drama and pure thrill then this is a must read. Alice Feeney is the queen of shocking twists and turns. 5 star read to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Rather confusing at times but the overall plot and conclusion kept me reading. I found it hard going as I did not like any of the characters at all. Perhaps Dickens! Saying that I read it, quite enjoyed it and it would be a good holiday read.

I always enjoy an Alice Feeney story and this did not disappoint.
Full of twists and turns that keeps you engrossed from beginning to end.
Really enjoyed it

Really good twists and turns. Easy read- but that’s a good thing in my mind.
Loved the characters and their relationships. This plot was clever, great little surprises along the way.

Thank you to NetGalley UK and the publisher for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for a review.

I really, really enjoyed this book. Every time I thought I had connected the dots, some new information was added that proved that couldn’t be it! I found the final revelations to be very satisfying too. I thought Detective Charlotte Chapman to be a little too aggressive of a character, though. Overall though, loved the whole thing!

Wow. This book took me on a wild ride. It was confusing, intricate, thrilling and absolutely brilliant. I never once guessed what was coming and found it immensely enjoyable.
All the different characters took a while to get used to and at times I found myself a little confused and having to kind of remember who each person was because Alice Feeney’s mind is so twisted I can’t keep up! 😂
The book is set on Mothers Day and goes back and forth between timings and characters. Chapters are short but we have various POV’s, giving the reader a better insight into the story and guessing ‘whodunnit’. I didn’t guess once!
The to-ing and fro-ing between the disappearance of a baby 20 years prior and the murders now are intriguing… how are they connected. Or are they? I found myself wondering the same thing. The themes throughout are touched on excellently by Alice with how she manages to incorporate them into the book so well and write about each theme, touching on hard times for the characters.
This was a fab read for me and the suspense of it all had me on the edge of my seat. The ending was perfect, tying up all loose ends and ending on a slightly more positive note.
Thank you @netgalley, @alicewriterland and @panmacmillan for allowing me a copy of this ARC!

I was utterly gripped by the unwinding of this story - cleverly plotted I wanted to race ahead and work out the connections between the characters! Murder, tension, mystery, family, the bad things people do, sometimes for the right reasons. I just loved it!

A Good Girl Gone Bad is a book full of family drama and dynamics, secrets never told, murder, mystery and suspense and a happy ending.
This was the first book I've read by Alice Feeney and I found her writing to be suspenseful and engaging. I can't wait to read more of her work,

Another fantastic book by the wonderful Alice Feeney! I read everything this author writes and I’m never disappointed.

My Five Word TL:DR Review : OMG – how I love this
Good Bad Girl is a perfectly puzzling story of domestic drama written with an almost ethereal quality that adds a distinct sort of charm that was quite unexpected. A mother/daughter story with an unexpected twist.
Deliciously convoluted the story begins with a child abduction after which we are introduced to an eclectic bunch of characters, which bring an extra level of fun as you try and work out how they’ll all come together. I would start by saying, pay attention to everything here, take nothing for granted and don’t be too disappointed when you fail to figure things out.
The story has four main characters. A teenager called Patience who works at an expensive care home. Edith, one of the residents who has designs of escaping, Frankie, a prison librarian who seems to be on a strange mission, and Clio, the estranged daughter of Edith who now works as a therapist.
I think as far as the plot goes I’m going to avoid writing anything, there are plenty of other reviews out there and on top of that I really don’t want to give anything away, but, I would mention that there is a murder which becomes the catalyst for a strange series of events.
The setting is London, the story is contemporary and we move between the care home, the Thames waterways, the prison, a beautiful pink house and a tiny attic above a gallery. You see what I mean about this ‘unreal’ quality. It’s almost fairytale(ish) – but at the same time it isn’t anything like a fairytale. Although, there are good people being bad at being good and bad people being good at being bad.
In terms of characters. Well, Edith and her perky little dog stole the show a little. I mean, okay, she’s not perfect, especially in the eyes of her children, but maybe old age has given her a level of sass and speak-your-mind that make her a very amusing character to listen to. I must also give a little shout out for the detective investigating the murder. But, yes, Edith seems to be truly the only character who seems to have the first notion of what’s actually going on, all the other characters were fumbling around in the dark much the same as I was.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. The writing is perfect, the pacing is quick. There are thankfully a few moments where you can catch your breath – or your thoughts – and there’s a wonderful conclusion.
In terms of criticisms. Nothing at all comes to me at the moment. This was a slippery sucker and vastly entertaining, in fact I finished reading and had that satisfying glow that made me smile – and made me actually want to go back to the beginning to read it again. Oh, for some extra time in the day.
I received a copy through Netgalley, courtesy of the publisher, for which my thanks. The above is my own opinion.

Another domestic thriller with layers throughout. Good Bad Girl is complex and clever.
At first I found the pace a bit on the slower side, but this allows the reader the chance to get to know the characters, who were strongly developed and who all had their own secrets.
Gripped, and after the first third of the book, the storyline took a swerve, the plot thickened, and with multiple view points I was working out how the women's stories would come together.
I loved the theme of motherhood, the bond that ties mother and daughter together and the limits people will go for their family.
Whilst not as dark as I would usually expect from the author, I loved the change of direction and pace this book took. The twists were just as good as previous books, and the ending had me hooked.
If you're used to this author's work, definitely set those expectations aside and read Good Bad Girl knowing that it hits a little differently, but that can still expect an exhilarating read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"A good book can be a light in the darkness. A good book can cure loneliness, change minds, or even change the world. A good book is nothing less than magic."
I found the pacing quite slow for the majority of the book. It did pick up a few times here and there, but it always slowed down again.
There were plenty of twists and turns, although some didn't seem necessary, and some were predictable. I was kept curious and engaged the whole time I was reading this book though.
The timeline goes back and forth which was a little confusing at times, especially with the different POVs thrown in.
I felt like the murder wasn't the main focus of the plot but instead it was about discovering how the characters were all connected and what they had done.
I did like the characters. They had their own issues but they all had a history of doing bad things for good reasons. Sometimes DCI Chapman was a little annoying.
Overall, I enjoyed the writing style and I would recommend reading this book.
*Thank you to @Netgalley and the publishers for providing this ARC. This is my own opinion and an honest review, which I am leaving voluntarily*

Alice Feeney did it again, and this is definitely one of her cleverest novels yet.
It's a slow-burn thriller with a great, suspenseful build-up. In the beginning, nothing is clear including who the four characters in the book are, but when their connection is slowly revealed, Feeney does what she does best: plot twist, plot twist, plot twist. Always good, always jaw-dropping.
When things reach the climax, I wasn't ready for the shocking revelation. I wasn't expecting it and definitely didn't see it coming. Reading how everything just comes together to form a perfect puzzle is always immensely satisfying. There are a lot of nuances and details throughout the book that I will need to re-read to catch on.
It's not her darkest novel, from the ones I've read, but it deep divers into motherhood, the struggles of young mothers and mental health issues like postpartum depression. It's daring, thought-provoking, and it's done in a style of writing that kept sentences imprinted on my memory (in a good way).
A great book and a great story. Nothing that I wasn't expecting already from Alice Feeney.

A really great and intriguing read. I loved the characters and the story. Will look out for more from this author.

This was my first Alice Feeney book and it certainly won’t be my last - I loved this book. The chapters were short and by character which was very good. It was easy to read and I couldn’t wait to read more.
Patience works in a nursing home and has built a relationship with a patient, Edith, who trusts Patience to use her bank card. Patience lives in an attic above an art gallery for free and has an arrangement with the gallery owner.
Edith used to be a store detective and is now in a nursing home - she has a son and a daughter who don’t visit that regularly. Edith wants to go home to her house and doesn’t want to stay in the nursing home.
Franki is a librarian in a women’s prison, she is obsessed with counting. Her daughter run away when she was 18 and she hasn’t seen her since. Franki is desperate to be reunited with her daughter but she also has some things she must do first. She knows that once she has done them there is no going back.
Clio is a therapist who is visited by Franki - she is also the daughter of Edith. She can’t afford to pay the nursing home fees for much longer.
Their lives are connected and intertwined, they all have secrets and have told lies.
Such a great read and I had to keep reading to find out more.

I love Alice Feeney's books but this has to be my favourite so far. This will be in my top ten of the year and was an absolute five star read for me!
I actually didn't even read the synopsis for this before I started reading it and I think it made it even better. The book starts with a baby being snatched from a supermarket. Twenty years later Edith is being forced out of her house into in a care home by her daughter Clio.
Lastly we meet Patience, the thoughtful young carer who works at the care home and Frankie who runs a prison library.
I was immediately caught up in Frankie, Patience and Edith's stories as they each narrate the story. The character development was brilliant and I loved putting all the pieces together as each of the women's lives started to unravel and connect. The storyline is so clever, there are some great surprises and although I guessed one of the twists it was still such a gripping plot. An original and brilliant mystery thriller!

Loved this thriller, very compelling and addictive. Once I started this I couldn't put it down until it was finished. Very enjoyable. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I enjoyed Alice Feeney's earlier books. This one also was not bad but there was something missing. It was a little confusing to start with. And then that thrill you usually get from a Feeney book was missing. Maybe a little more editing is what was required. It's not bad at all but not Feeney's best.
