Love & Stilettos is a contemporary second chance romance. I loved the characters and story so much! I loved the backstories that were provided and I loved the mystery elements

This angsty romance is a gripping tale of two souls drawn together against all odds. The characters' chemistry practically leaps off the pages, making their connection palpable from the start. Plus, all that drama had me hooked since the beginning too.

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I started this book but it was a fun story about self-discovery and returning to your roots to start over. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing and plenty of characters to root for. I really enjoyed getting lost in this book.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I binged this in about 8 hours. Such a quick, heartfelt, swoon-worthy read! Mitch is my new love. I really enjoyed this. I loved the "back-to-you" aspect of the book and Mitch and Mia's relationship was absolutely amazing. I did feel like the mystery text aspect was a bit easy to figure out but it was still done really well and I enjoyed it all the same. Can we also mention how hilarious Grandma was?!? Definitely a solid read if you're looking for a quick, easy to read romance.

This is first book for me by this author, this book was a fast read, with both finding love and spicy mystery. It is a friend to lovers or the one that caught away. I thought the pace of the story was perfect and good amount of back story to have you cheering for the two main characters. There are triggers of abuse, but the author does such a great job on the subject that it only makes you want something better for the main character. I found the love of her grandmother is so special, their bound is one that every woman needs.

Mia is a widow who decides to move back to her hometown in Kentucky from Ohio to attend college. She would have reached out to her childhood friend Mitch, but he is getting married, and it doesn't seem like the right time.
But then their paths cross and the spark is still there, they both know it but neither of them will knowledge it. Until Mitch's fiancée drives a deceit that will either bring them together or tear them apart for good.

I like the plot but Mia... I could never simphatize with her. She was so insecure, sometimes I had to remember she was a 28 year old woman and not a teenager. I kind of llike Mitch but he is not that great either.

I've been lucky enough to get approved for an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review of the book.

This book was a very easy read with a very brief mention of harder hitting topics.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book however the majority of the plot was extremely predictable throughout.

Personally I didn't overly become attached to the FMC Mia but if I had maybe shared some similar experiences than I can understand how people would be.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone but I didn't set the world alight.

Mia Crane is a young widow who returns to Kentucky to attend Bellarmine University. She hopes to reunite with her childhood friend Mitch, but is uncertain that he will have time for her, having ditched the invitation to her wedding. Yet when Mia and Mitch meet again, he is engaged to Lacey. However, Lacey realises that there is something between them and does all that can to weaves a web of manipulation and deceit around them. Soon it is hard to know if Lacey is the victim or the villain.
This book moves between romance, mystery and intrigue but could have been a bit less predictable. At times, I wasn’t quite sure whether I liked any of the characters. Whilst Lacey is meant to be the villain, at times she was more interesting to read about than Mia, who could be too naive.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book wasn't anything spectacular. I struggled to finish it..

The blurb for the book make you think you were going to get this amazing story about rising to the top and fighting against all odds, but it wasn't anything like that. She went through life and her marriage thinking her childhood best friend cut her out of her life, but it wasn't that. When she comes home, she is shy and doesn't know how to act around Mitch. She lets Lacy walk all over her..

I will admit, there was some parts of the book that were entertaining at some parts. So if you need a book to fill time, pick this up. It wasn't the worst book I've ever read, but also not the best.

Mia is a 28 year old widow who is moving back home and meeting up with her childhood best friend Mitch - or at least they were every June. Mitch's fiancee Lacey is having none of it and "weaves a web of manipulation and deceit so complicated that it’s hard to determine if she is the victim or the villain.

Weirdly, I switched between rooting for Mia and then Lacey - Mia was annoyingly immature in many parts of the book and Lacey sort of comes across as more likeable a person.

The dedication of the book is incredibly sweet and the plot of the book presents a classic love farce mess. Boy meets girl, girl marries someone else and boy doesn't think its a good idea to go to the wedding, girl still really cares about boy, worlds collide.
There are some very relatable moments and character thoughts "uniboob" did make me smile but overall some of the jokes were a little overplayed and the narrative feels a little too familiar with some messy writing in places. Overall a quick read with very little that is super memorable and feels a little dated.

This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book. I will read more from this author. Must read

Yeah this book was a big let down. Mia was just as crazy as Lacey. Lacey was smart whereas Mia was gulliable. I feel bad for Mitch attracting all these crazies. Mia was immature and I could not finish this book with her antics. She was so immature it was embarassing. She acted more like a lovesick crazy teen then a whole adult. Also, you're a widow - why not focus on rebuilding your life instead of jumping into another relationship?

At 28 if you need to go through someones stuff that;s not a healthy relationship. If you need to cause a scene at someones job then you need help. Mitch needs to grow a backbone and stay out of relationships until he can identify red flags because Lacey & Mia were both red BLIMPS with stay away messages attached.

This is a fun mystery romance with a cinnamon roll hero Mitch and a gorgeous heroine Mia. Plot is twisty and turny, a bit predictable in that there's a one-note villain, but our happy couple (who go way back) finally get their HEA. Mitch is smart and patient and a little bit delicious, Mia is sweet and disorganised (and let's face it, a bit gullible). They are great together. An easy, fun read.

Thanks very much to NetGalley and the author for the ARC, this is an honest review.

Oh Mia, honey, why are you such a disaster?

I wanted to root for our 28 year old widow here, I really did. The book starts and she seems self-assured, with a cute internal dialogue.

Then she descends into this naive, anxiety-ridden damsel in distress. And let me tell you, it became quite the challenge to rally behind her.

She's well aware of the effect she has on her childhood friend, Mitch, yet she opts for this innocent facade, playing the "woe is me" card. You guys, I found myself rooting for Lacey...like what?! How am I rooting for the villain here? I was like you go Lacey, you're a queen, don't let Mia get you down.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this book. All views are my own.

The whole small town firefighter and recently windowed Mia at their second chance romance trope sounded perfectly interesting based on the summary and it would have been great too if Mia was a more likeable MC. Mia was definitely a confused soul but she also acts impulsively like a teenager and not as a mature woman. I actually liked Mitch and his personality more without a doubt. At one point, Mia's obsession about her bras was a bit too much. Initially, it felt like a more realistic approach to her grief and coming of age after being widowed but she was just all over. I did feel I understood Lacey's point of view as she was desperately trying to save her engagement. It was a beautiful love story that needed some trimming from Mia's storyline and needed extra thoughts from Mitch!

This book was anxiety educing. Based on the synopsis and the title, we are lead to believe that Mia is a strong person who know who she is, but this is not the case. She behaves like a teenager who is uncomfortable in her own skin. She’s 28 but oh so naive.

The book gives off second hand embarrassment as one after another humiliating event happens. She is nosey and digs around Mitches belongings. The awkwardness really made me not want to finish. I didn’t care for how chooses to make a very public scene at Mitch’s job. Followed by soooo many more just embarrassing things.

I love the idea that they have loved each other since they were kids, but I feel like a POV from Mitch would have helped us build that attachment to him and their relationship.
