A wholesome doggy rom-com! Pet photographer Maisie and movie star Brad jump into love with a fake relationship that starts as a mistake, snowballs into a PR stunt and gets dangerously real the more time they spend together! I loved all of the dogs personalities too!

Entertaining beach / holiday feel good read, especially if you love dogs, lots of them!

Maisie is completely down to earth, focused on rescuing dogs including taking them in as well as helping out at the local rescue centre.

Brad is the billionaire living next door and busy improving his social media image whilst not actually being that keen on being in the limelight during his personal time. Likeable, and definitely not as much of a twat as some billionaires in other romance stories.

TikTok and online presence are key for both Maisie and Brad and they find a way to help each other.

Sweet and adorable story; perfect for escaping the world for a while.

I took a few days to come off the book high I get right after I finish reading.

I really enjoyed this book as one of those cute fluffy romance reads. The characters and conflict weren’t deep, The whole setting was dreamy, the dogs were adorable, and I like a sweet ending. It was definitely one of those feel good reads.
If you’re a person who wants more in depth character backgrounds, huge conflict, or major smut this is probably not the book for you.

I give this one 4 stars., only because as much as I enjoyed it I do feel like it was missing something.

I received this as an a ARC…. This was an adorable book. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with dogs and it def added to the fun factor. I found myself wanting to skip forward to see what else was going to happen.

I love the little spice thrown in and I love the fake dating trope.

Def a quick fun read

-fake dating
-billionaire
-beach read
-dogs… lots of cute dogs 😍

I was looking for a cute romance book to get back into reading romance and I think I found it! I love Brad and Maisie as a couple particularly how much they care about each other. It was also one of the more realistic fake dating scenarios than what I’ve read in a while. The only exception of this is them getting married within a few months of meeting … Also, I thought I wouldn’t enjoy all the dogs since this is a main focus of the story but it actually made Maisie and Brad more enduring.
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy!

From the second I read the word 'spendy' I knew that reading this book would either be the best experience of my life.... or the worst. I'm pleased to announce... it was alright. The book, unfortunately, was mediocre at best with much more discussion about one single dog being done than the fake boyfriend making the dialogue seem lost and confused with so much description taking place. It wasn't as if this was the worst book in the world.... but it undoubtedly wasn't the best. I think St.James needs to decide if they're taking a more narrative or descriptive approach to books.

However, I mustn't also neglect the positives of this book, of which there were some. Firstly, the main character was explored in a thoughtful way, not acting willy-nilly just to go along with a particular trope (which the title literally describes what the trope is) and in the descriptions the author set out from the very first page, I was able to work out exactly what she meant, drawing an image in my minds eye.

This is the sort of book you either love to hate or hate to love but I think I'll just settle and say that I enjoyed it, but the plot was just a scratch on the surface of the characters lives.

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy of my billionaire fake boyfriend. this was so tame, cute and romantic story filled with dogs. Masie was a photographer who took in senior dogs and she was struggling to get by. She stubbled across Brad one day on the beach and both their lives took a turn. This definitely is in the cute romance of fake dating category like a bunch of others but this felt super tame and even the spice felt very much like the author was afraid of those words even those she wrote a spicy scene. It did seem to gloss over little spots and a few questions left unanswered. Besides that it was a cute book and I could see with a bit more work it could have been beloved especially because of all the adorable dogs. Huge boxer fan for sure.

Golden Retriever Jupiter and Boxer, Boxer were the stars of this book.
I love a good fake relationship trope and this didn't disappoint.
Maisie is super adorable and sweet and Brad isn't as cocky as he could have been.
I enjoyed how their fake relationship started, especially Brad's interactions with Maisie's dogs.
This was a great romance.
I received a copy via NetGalley and all opinions are my own.

A romance involving a pack of adorable senior pups? Sign me up. Really, that is what drew me to this book. This was a cute romance, and I loved the deeper side to it with the dogs. However, I didn’t feel much of a connection between our main characters. I don’t think their relationship was fleshed out as much as it could have been, and it felt a little insta-lovey to me. Overall, a cute romance. 3/5 stars.

I read this book expecting a Cheat Sheet-esque book and I was a bit dissapointed. There was no depth to the characters and there was really no tropes because they weren't restrained in private to make us believe the fake dating trope. There was no build up or simmering either. Maisie was a bit immature to run away all because a pretty popstar Brad dated a decade ago showed up to an event and almost blow up his career over it.

"My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend" by Jennifer St. James is set in Malibu Beach, California. Maisie Jones, a pet photographer, is portrayed as she struggles to support her elderly shelter dogs while also making payments on her grandparents' debt. When Brad Zander, a wealthy neighbour, unintentionally appears in one of Maisie's charitable TikTok videos, she sees an opportunity to create a fake relationship in order to gain attention. Brad, who comes from a wealthy family and aspires to be successful in Hollywood, accepts to participate in the ruse in order to advance his career. However, as their staged gatherings and outings continue, their bond deepens and they start to feel real affections for one another.

Despite their growing attraction, Maisie doesn't think she can give Brad the sustained focus he needs to advance his career, and Brad longs to show himself in ways that go beyond his money. They wonder if being true to yourself and appreciating their own connection will lead to happiness as they balance the demands of their own wishes with the pressures of the public. The narrative ponders issues of love, genuineness, and pursuing happiness in spite of social pressures. Will Maisie and Brad be able to maintain their sincerity despite the act, or will their outward façade cause them to fall apart?

Maisie is a likeable and charming protagonist because of her passion for animals and commitment to helping her elderly shelter canines. Brad, who comes from a wealthy family, is looking for significance and approval outside of his wealth. Their divergent personalities and common desire for sincerity create an engaging dynamic. The language is entertaining and full of humorous banter and heartfelt passages that will make readers swoon. The plot flows easily and maintains a balance between humorous parts and in-depth emotional examination thanks to the well-executed pacing. The romance develops brilliantly, sending readers on an emotional rollercoaster. They struggle with the demands of their staged relationship as they consider what it means to be authentic in a society where outward appearances are everything.

A refreshing take on the over-used fake-relationship trope, "My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend" explores issues of love, sincerity, and self-discovery. The gratifying balance of romance, humour, and touching scenes in St. James will make readers feel good inside. This is a perfect read for rainy days into the realm of romance, full of endearing characters, enthralling chemistry, and a tale that encourages us to embrace our true selves. Fans of modern romance will adore this engrossing and inspirational story.

This was really cute!! I loved the series name- Must Love Dogs! Yes. It’s a must.

Maisie is literally my spirit animal. Surrounded by rescue dogs, loves photography, is feisty and fierce, dresses for comfort over style, suffers no fools and would literally lay down her life for her fur babies.

Brad is a typical movie star at the beginning, but the more time he spends with Maisie the more down to earth and likeable he becomes. It’s also adorable how much he ends up loving those dogs!

I also love the fake dating trope…seriously chef’s kiss.

Thank you NetGalley, Jennifer St. James and Elewyn Publishing for the copy of My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend. This is my personal review.
I enjoy a book about fake dating and this one had everything in it I had hoped for.
Brad and Maisie had so much zip pop and zing between them and as I read, I could feel it. I liked them both and to make it an even better read was the dogs in the book!
This is a perfect book to grab for a beach read.

When I saw cover and title, I thought it was a SoCal version of Annika Martin's Billionaire of Manhattan Series. This debut isn't as good as my first foray into Martin's series, which was The Billionaire's Fake Fiance, but it worked fine.

I think what didn't compute for me was the summary, which could've used a nice edit for clarity. Also, I didn't catch on to the cover. For instance, it shows a dark-haired billionaire with a suit, like I'm thinking would fit a corporate billionaire concept. So, a golden-boy movie star in casual SoCal attire did not compute.

But, I get the odd title and cover is part of a series about gals with hearts of gold that love dogs and end up reforming bad-boy billionaires through their love. Still, I would've just tied the titles to the series theme of "Must Love Dogs" than try to catch folks like myself who like the billionaire trope.
