From start to finish I was completely immersed in this storyline. The author crafted an intriguing tale of mystery and suspense .
I appreciated the multiple povs, it heightened the emotions I was feeling and really helped me form theories on everyone's motives. I did guess the final twist but it didn't detract from how engaging the writing was.
I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys reading Mystery Thrillers. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
Thank you Jenny Blackhurst, Net Galley and Canelo for providing me with an ARC of this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Canello for an ARC of this book, in exchange for my opinion.
Woah, has it been a long time since I’ve read a thriller and been so genuinely shocked by the twist.
After the death of her Mom in England, Holly decides to get a job on Martha’s Vineyard for the summer. Her older sister Claire wasn’t happy about her leaving. Midway through the summer Claire finds out her sister hasn’t been seen on MV, and a strange text comes through from Hollys phone, proving it couldn’t be her sending it. As Claire jumps on a plane to cross the ocean and investigate Hollys disappearance, the police on the island won’t take her seriously. Holly was wrapped up in some drama with the islands two notorious playboys and relatives to the Kennedy’s. Did these boys know where Holly went? Will Claire ever get to see her sister again?
All the descriptions of MV were so accurate, I felt like I could of been walking around the island. The story is told in alternating view points from Holly (on the night of her disappearance) and Claire as she tries to piece the puzzle together of what happened to her sister on the Vineyard. And as I said earlier, the twist at the end was just WOW! Never saw it coming, and it was both satisfying and a little controversial. Overall, a great and easy summer suspense to add to your TBR!
**Trigger warning for rape and sexual assault.

I actually loved reading this. The writing style was so pleasant to read, and I was invested in the characters and story right away.
The setting of Martha's Vineyard was lovely, and I could fully picture it from the descriptions. The characters were also vividly described and felt very real. The pacing of the story was really good and I found it interesting to read.
The only minor drawback was that I did guess the ending quite early on, but I really enjoyed the journey of getting there so it didn't spoil things for me too much.
4.5 stars rounded up to 5, I would definitely recommend this.

Thank you to NetGalley and canelo for the DRC
It was an enjoyable read for me, just my cup of tea. Got me through so many emotions. At one time I thought I had it all figured out but I was so wrong. Not wanting to spoil but I really loved the ending ! I will gladly read other books from this author again.

I liked this book and it had a great premise but as an American I was distracted by a lot of the dialogue spoken by supposed Americans. We don’t say lads or jumper or kettle or go back to mine etc.

Thank you Canelo and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. IYKYK, my reviews are always honest.
BEEP BEEP! HONDA CIVIC RELIABLE READ COMING THRU!
Writing: standard | Plot: fun | Ending: lowkey controversial in a good way!
SYNOPSIS
Claire travels from England to Martha's Vineyard to find out what happened to her sister.
MY OPINION
This is my third from Jenny Blackhurst, and she hasn't let me down yet. She's definitely my go-to for an easy, breezy popcorn thriller. I just love her dry wit and satirical approach to amateur sleuthing. This approach makes her books 100x more digestible than similarly written books that try to take themselves waaayyy too seriously. Blackhurst has nailed the popcorn thriller formula: juicy but straight forward mystery + FMC with self-deprecating humour + fast-paced dual timelines.
I really have nothing bad to say about this one. As with the other books of hers I read ([book:The Girl Who Left|60600538] and [book:The Hiking Trip|62367110]) it did what it came to do: entertain and keep in engrossed. Is this a literary masterpiece? No. But is it fun to read and doesn't rely on the fmc being a stage 5 dumbass? Yes. If you like Lindsey Kelk, this is kinda like if Kelk wrote a thriller. Same vibe, different genre.
There was one questionable moment, but otherwise this was enjoyable. I liked it better than The Hiking Trip; especially the ending. It stayed the course and didn't make me cringe. I do think the last 25% of the book will spark some good book club debates; it's a tad controversial and some people may feel passionately about how it all played out. I think it raises some good questions, chiefly: 'does the means justify the end?' Andddddd debate!
PROS AND CONS
Pros: fun read, great dry humor, emotional aspects as well without being too stressy n depressy, solid ending, entertaining, easy to read
Cons: one part was never fully explained, predictable

Good book! It did kind of take a minute to get there but when it got going it was such a great read! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, murder, rape, mystery, A great who done it, and some really crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

3.5 stars
I breezed through this in one morning.
It's a great summer read.
At points I found myself wishing I was in Martha's Vineyard enjoying the sun and island life.
Claire and Holly are very relatable, I found I liked Holly a lot.
The book had a good few twists, and kept the plot going right to the end.
At times I did feel the characters acted more like teenagers than those I early 20s.
Overall a fast paced , entertaining read.
Also, nice to see Hayders brief mention. 😄
